I am so beyond stoked for the CJOB re-airings this long weekend.... the 40 pounder of Crown I bought at Costco yesterday is not likely to be enough...

It was Demski's run that had me feeling comfortable, but once we realized that Streveler couldn't be stopped (even with a crippled leg) that was it. Calgary just had no chance.

During the west semi, 17to85 and I were sitting in our seats in the top row, along the 55....at half time we kinda went "this is good....we're in this thing..." and sure enough, after keeping it close in the 1st half, they busted it wide open in the second half. It was a lot of fun to be at.

They had to be made an example of. Society needs to change and this is how you begin to implement that change. Make an example of the worst offenders when they come to light.

Do you not think they should shut down a place when there's an outbreak? Do you think people should be forced to work when sick and infectious to everyone around them?

I was just thinking about this last night. Thought he would have been a good one to pitch the CFLs case to the feds...

Feds said today that they need a proper business plan from the league and PA before they can move forward on this. Read a quote from one MP who said "we can work with them, if they present a proper business plan...and the sooner the better". So I get the impression that things are relatively positive, but the league needs to get it's **** together in a real hurry.

I've come to realize that the whole "Americans crossing the border" thing isn't really an issue. When talking about NHL, the feds have said that they can come over, but they have to quarantine for 14 days before they're allowed to do anything. So I'm not concerned about that at all.

So, I love the discussion on this, but here's a couple thoughts from someone in broadcasting re:advertising/advertisers... -Shopping for anything and everything is down right now. If people aren't spending money at a business (Wendy's, Rona, Save On Foods, etc...) that business can't afford to advertise. That's sort of the world we're living in right now. All media corps are BEGGING for advertising right now...they've all seen a major drop off. So, asking the clients to pay more because "more eyes on the product" isn't going to fly, because they just can't afford to right now. I'm not saying anything is absolute, but the whole world of advertising has changed in the last two months, so I'm not sure what would actually work...

There's definitely not going to be a 2020 season. If the league declares bankruptcy and folds or whatever, I'm still confident that there will be SOME kind of "league" one day, with the teams that can actually make it. It'll resurrect again one day... I'm sure of it.

Sports owners, ESPECIALLY in the CFL, have never been in it to make money. Most of the time, it's a money losing venture they take on for the "prestige" of saying they're a sports team owner...

In my defense, it was direct quotes from Horgan in BC and Trudeau. And again, I fully understand that nobody really knows anything right now...they're all guessing. But when the people at the top seem resided to the idea that it's "vaccine or nothing", you just sort of go along with it. But time will tell, I suppose. Everyone's most afraid of that second wave come flu season in the fall...

You don't have to look any further than the hockey players on Letterkenny to know that this is exactly how young hockey players are and that it's almost "celebrated". I know for a fact this is how a lot of them (not all) are. It's gross, but it's a major part of the culture. In 10 years, they're gonna be disgusted with themselves.

the reason I brought up a vaccine in regards to "returning to full normal", is that I keep reading how we won't have gatherings over 50 people without a vaccine. So, no fans at sports or concerts until a vaccine. Now, obviously I don't know ****.... just that's what I keep reading in legitimate media.

There's no vaccine YET but there will be one. Life will not fully return to normal until that vaccine is ready and available to the world. Hopefully this calendar year but might not be until sometime in 2021... Until that time, we'll continue to live this "new normal".
