100% agree with all of this. I'm still pro-O/G in the short term.... It's still a valuable factor in the economy, but we NEED to transition away and it has to start yesterday... Can't be soon enough.

I f***ing hate this province sometimes....no question. I've been running news stories all day with clips from our provincial ag minister, and rather than promoting their own agenda, they default to complaining about what the federal government does. I would say most of the popularity of the UCP in AB is that they're anti-Trudeau. They've positioned themselves as this group who "stand up to the tyranny of Trudeau, who hates The West!!" which is all just horseshit and makes me ill when I hear them pound the table about it...

I think there's a middle ground somewhere here...... absolutely players and coaches should have the opportunity to make the big NFL $$$$$ when they've got the chance, but there have to be some protections in place for CFL clubs. Maybe that's a hard date? No opting out after a certain date? Whatever it is, I'm certain there's a way to meet in the middle.

the Esks beat guy for CHED radio was saying today: "The problem with Jones is that he's ALWAYS looking for the next opportunity. Hard to build a program when the HC won't commit to the program".....and that's about right. Sounds like he's got NFL/NCAA opportunities down south anyhow, so that's good...stay there.

the two names I read yesterday were Jim Barker and Jamie Elizondo....neither of those would excite me, if I was an Esks fan.

of note, on HNIC Saturday, they said the Jets are trying to get the quarantine reduced from 14 to 7 days because they flew him in on a private plane, rather than him flying commercial.... not sure if anything further has come of this request.

I feel bad for the Esks...what a shitty thing to have happen right now. You'd rather see it happen to the Riders, but of course they don't have anyone that anybody else wants.
