If the league can show that they're going to pay the player salaries (especially US players) on their own, via TV revenue or whatever, then I can't see why the government wouldn't be able to back them to cover operating costs for individual teams. Hopefully they've got a better plan in mind for approaching government this time...

I think the issue is that what other people do impacts me. So I can do everything right and obey all the rules, but other people are assholes and disobey and ruin it for everyone else.

Absolutely petrified of the increase we're about to see because of the variants and way-too-soon re-opening. I figure within the next month we'll see a reversal of the decreases and new cases will starry to outpace the recoveries again...

But...I also believe that because of B117 and a WAY too premature "relaxing" of restrictions, we're going to see a massive 3rd wave of COVID that is going to make things extremely difficult come late spring/early summer. So, while we all want some football this year, I'm worried about how it'll be possible. Could there be a shortened season starting after Labour Day? Is that even possible? Virtually everyone will be vaccinated and hopefully numbers at a manageable rate by that point........?

I love me some Petey, but it's insane to think he was going to replace anyone on our roster, with the way it was built. There were limited touches anyhow, because this offense will always work through Andrew Harris as long as he's healthy and playing. But there's no way you take out Demski or Woogie for Petey...and I say that as a big fan of his.

that's a harsher spin than necessary......the alternate title of the song is "Time Of My Life" and is the song played at virtually every HS Grad in 1998....along with the final episode of Seinfeld. It's meant as a wistful "I had a great time..." song.......not a "Good Riddance" song. Look, what Bell did is awful, and there's no way around that. But the song choice is being spun the wrong way.
