  1. they referred to Evans as "healthy enough" for this week and I actually LOLed... "healthy enough" isn't good enough against this D, I don't think.... *knocks on wood*
  2. Lowry, man...... born to be a Captain.
  3. Yep - every story I've ever read was that they were named the Jets because Hatskin was a huge NFL Jets fan..... unfortunate, but true. Eff the NFL.
  4. well this is interesting............
  5. ^^ Couture on the roster, but still backing up Kolankowski.... interesting.
  6. Quote of the season so far! That should be their team marketing slogan. #MoreExcusesThanRings
  7. I could have sworn I saw something about that or heard something during Banjo Bowl about it.... I'd bet they will.
  8. Great comparison. Dane Evans, before he was emotionally crippled, was a really good QB. CoFaj has never been anything more than a 3rd stringer cosplaying as a starter (TM Geebrr)
  9. they're a bag of **** across the board...just truly awful this year.
  10. if Darby couldn't crack the lowly TiCats roster full time, how do we know he hasn't lost a step and would automatically start for us?
  11. ^^ One of many many many Red Dirt/Americana artists that we don't get much of in Canada, but within his field he's extremely famous, along with people like Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Cody Canada, Lukas Nelson, and many many many others....
  12. It's only recently, with the explosion of YouTube, Spotify and TikTok (whatever that is...) , that radio has been overtaken as the #1 source for new music. And even then, it's really close. There's still a LOT of people listening to radio (and listening to it specifically for music) despite what naysayers will tell you....
  13. not that we should really be concerned with anyone on the TiCats, healthy or not........but here's their report for today (apologies for the formatting): HAMILTON TIGER-CATS PRACTICE DAY Player Name Position Injury MON TUE WED THU Game Status Anthony Johnson WR Wrist DNP DNP DNP Chris Van Zeyl OL Hip Full Limited DNP Ronheen Bingham DL Hamstring Full Full Full Julian Howsare DL Achilles Limited Limited DNP Cariel Brooks DB Back DNP DNP Full Dane Evans QB Right Shoulder Full Full Full Malik Carney DL Shoulder – Limited DNP Tyler Ternowski WR Shoulder Limited Full Full Alden Darby Jr. DB Hamstring Full Full Full
  14. Big Wreck is great...I just think they're a really poor choice to prove that bands exist outside of radio, because they were a MASSIVE radio band. Huge hits in the 90s. Thornley is genius..... (his recent solo stuff was excellent as well). "Classic Rock" (sigh...) radio is still playing a lot of their stuff up here because it's good and it's CanCon.
  15. Big Wreck had a ton of radio play. Technically not a Canadian band...they're really an American band, but the lead singer and songwriter is Canadian which qualified them as CanCon, so they got a LOT of radio airplay because of that.
  16. Well I mean, back then there weren't nearly as many radio stations, but YES, radio was absolutely where people heard new music 40 or 50 years ago.
  17. this is more than fair and accurate.... there's also a whole thing about how few record labels there are now and how much power and influence they have over pop culture. Major labels like Universal dictate so much....
  18. Twitter all "Ooooo....ahhhhhh" about this Cornelius extension as if guaranteed contracts exist. It literally means nothing, and if someone better comes along, they'll toss Corny aside for the next thing.
