Drew put the team on his back & won that game with an inspiring performance. Been a long time since we had a qb who could do that. Darvin Adams was awarded the game ball last night & he promptly gave it to Drew Willy because he felt he was more deserving.

It was his decision to throw the football. He should never have the green light to ever do so again until he can prove he can take his head out of his ass & know how many yards there are to go for a first down. And for cryin' out loud, just kick the damned ball deep. The days of directional punting are over with the new rules.

Willy The Warrior. He's our qb & I'm glad. In the post game interview with Sara Orlesky he stated how much he loved his teammates, that he plays for them, how proud he is to be a Blue Bomber & how much he appreciated the fans at IGF & the City of Winnipeg for supporting them. You could tell he meant it.

But this is what I'm saying, it's rare that you get a case where one guy is obviously the best candidate. Usually you got a couple guys that there's very little to choose between. Yep, true. Then it comes down to who you want.

Well, all I can say is different people have different perspectives on hiring. I mean, we assume that at the CFL level all head coaching candidates have a proven track record of success.

17, the most honest answer I can give you is that if I felt the guy I don't know is the best candidate then yes, I'd hire him.

Lexi was a very good on air person. So was Zenon. Man, that sucks.

Stayed long enough to help a friend. I guess the size of the organization has a lot to do with it. If you know someone in HR at GWL it may not mean much but a small radio station or a football team then it might. I'd like to think if I was hired on merit & experience to be Bombers GM that I'd hire the best HC available who applied & not a football friend. My approach would be to let to know any applicant I may have worked or played with in the past that while it may have some impact on my decision it won't be the primary one.

Hey Noeller, I wonder who'll get the axe in Calgary at QR77 as it's owned by Corus? Right now, their programming is all over the map. Long time hosts fired or retired. Replacement hosts with totally different political philosophies from the hosts they replaced pissing off their audience, double shifting personalities during the day & rotating guest hosts for months at a time making it look like the radio station can't find anyone. They even replay portions of the Morning Show at 12:30 pm for half an hour weekdays during prime time radio which is unbelievable. They call it the "Best Of The Morning Show".. who are they trying to kid? Then there's weekends where they do nothing but push products with infomercial after imfomercial. CHQR is just **** radio. I've virtually stopped listening since the end of June.

Well, I believe there has been past cronyism which has led to bad hires which has led to where we are today as an organization fighting for credibility with the fans & media across Winnipeg & the CFL. How can it not be? After so many years, I can't believe that every hire this organization made was never influenced by who the person in charge of the hiring knew. Or favours being repaid. Maybe not here on this board but certainly among the vast majority of fans in Winnipeg, I think there is a sense that this team rewards its friends at every level which is why cynicism is so rampant with fans. I think we can use the Garth Buchko hire as a glaring example of cronyism. Becoming President of the Bombers after the Bombers awarded CJOB the new radio rights at the time. The decision was panned when it occured it was obvious what happened. Buchko delievered the goods financially now he wanted to be rewarded & he was. Joe Mack was friends with then BOD members Joe Poplawski & Paul Robson going back to the 80's who lobbied the other BODs hard to get him the GM job which took place. At least that was the story I heard. I'm not saying every hire was cronyism... actually hate that word... After 26 seasons, there had to be. I prefer favouritism... but I believe a lot were. Just sayin'.

Who replaced Toth on his nightly show?

They weren't winning with Glenn & it'd have been debatable with Durant so I can't see Chamblin surviving.

Too bad about Toth. Occasionally I'd listen to his show on the internet. Corus here in Calgary isn't good either. Most of the hosts are in their 30's, left of centre & criticize Harper all the time. That seems to be the agenda here. What will allthis mean to Blue Bombers coverage?
