  1. gee if only there were people who said rushing Joseph into the lineup was a mistake....
  2. Every top pick in the Mulumba draft was going to the NFL though so that's an unfair criticism. There was a belief that even with his commitment Mulumba would be back sooner rather than later. That one is hard to hold against them when everyone was going to the NFL.
  3. the #1 problem with that regime was hiring loser head coaches. I wish Mack had hired someone like O'Shea, would have been night and day.
  4. Josh Portis wears #6 now. I think they first gave it out to Brett Cameron in training camp last year and now it seems it's just another number. I think the only other QB-ish number we have available right now is #10. Strange they didn't give Portis #10 instead of #6. I did not know that, cut portis immediately!
  5. and hey if Kyle Walters was our GM back then we'd have drafted Bust Mitchell #1 overall rather than Henoc Muamba. No Gm gets every pick in a draft right.
  6. I blame Noeller for me not seeing the Washington injury during the game. He took the only seat at the pub that could see the TV properly. I got distracted by some tasty beer.
  7. What the hell are you even talking about? Who are you getting that from? Blanket statement. I am talking about facts here. The Rider backups played and Taman had to rush to drag Joseph out of the retirement home and rush him into the starting line up. How is what I said not 100% true? You paid absolutely no attention to the bolding in the quote. Think before hitting the post button. I understand what Taman did. EDIT: Unless the bolded statement is in fact referring to Taman and not the fans. Then I understand what you're getting at. yeah take your own advice and read before spouting off. Good lord, chill out. I did read everything. I just misunderstood the context, that's all. Oh no, you put yourself out there misunderstanding the content, if you're going to put yourself out there, especially on a rival teams message board you have to be prepared to take **** for it. If you can't do that then what the hell are you even here for?
  8. Injury prone and it really hampered his development.
  9. Well I dunno which specific charity the CFL is associated with but one of those breast cancer foundations is actually worse than cancer. Something stupid like only 10% of their funds raised go to fighting cancer, the rest goes into the hands of the people running the charity. That's a real bullshit way to run a charitable organization.
  10. we gave up more than just a 2nd round pick. We also gave up a player who was one of the best at his positions who helped the Riders win the Grey Cup. People need to stop pretending that Hall had 0 value and shouldn't be counted as part of the trade. We gave up a star player AND a 2nd round pick to get an injury prone OL. That trade stank from day 1. Could have used those assets to get something more worthwhile. Yer Fkn delusional if you thought we could get more then a starting canadian lineman for a rent a player for x amount of games... Especially knowing the NFL was his goal for next season... What, you think we coulda got ray or bourke or Cornish? Give yer head a shake man.. If we had traded Hall for Neufeld straight up my tune would be entirely different. The fact that we had to throw in a 2nd round pick is what makes the trade poor. A starting NI Olineman for a second round pick is a good move any day of the week. Hall was leaving anyway, nothing to discuss there. Neufeld was going to be lost in the Ottawa draft, and that is 100% the only reason we traded him. We have too many quality NI Olineman, and someone was going to be unprotected. Neufeld is a starter on your line no question about it. Paddy is strong as a bull, and can stand his ground when called upon, also good in run blocking. Still needs time to develop in other areas. He would still be starting here if it hadn't been for Heenan being so good so young. How could Walters have known he was going to get hurt? Neufeld had also just signed a 2 year deal with the riders so you also knew he would be there for that long which sweetens the trade. I'd welcome him back here gladly, and to be honest I hope the riders are going after him when his contract expires. But that's exactly it... we didn't get Neufeld for either Hall or a 2nd round pick, it was both. You nicely illustrate the reasoning for the Riders to trade him to the Bombers, they were faced with a situation where they were likely to lose him for nothing in the expansion draft so get something for him. In that case why did the Bombers pay a premium for him? Riders were looking to get an asset for the player why did we have to give them a player to help their playoff drive AND a draft pick? Considering the situation the Riders were in with the guy Walters to my mind paid too high a price for a guy who had some question marks in his game. He got his heart set on Neufeld when he was a pending free agent earlier and he didn't even try and haggle, he just paid the price that was asked. Sticker price is sucker price.
  11. This has been out for a while right? And it might as well be called "Lapo makes excuses for his own failures as HC"
  12. seems really odd to release a guy at this point when you've kept him around all season.
  13. hey it's not my fault the place has become too green to really see the important news.
  14. washington is out because???? did he get hurt or something?
  15. I don't really buy that... Nenshi is focussed on getting the massive sprawl this city has gone through under control, there is a lot of things that the burbs need taken care of and rightly so before they can put too much energy into a new stadium. It's just part of the reality of this city growing as fast as it has. Someone in the private sector needs to take the bull by the horns to get a new stadium in this city. They do need one, and before too long they'll need one badly. Mcmahon is really showing its age. I just really think the focus is going to be on the arena first because Edmonton is getting a fancy new arena and Edmonton can NOT have anything better than Calgary.
  16. Statue is a great idea. Too bad we don't officially retire player numbers. I know some teams like Pitts/Dallas don't retire numbers and just take them out of service but it definitely looks better when you see names and numbers in a stadium. That is a visible history. If you start retiring numbers in football you might run out of numbers. When was the last time you saw a Bomber playing wearing #85 though? Or #6? There's a few numbers around here that just don't get used.
  17. the internet is SRS BSNS
  18. Any one who watched Grigsby play here knows that it doesn't matter one bit what he does in Hamilton. Guy was too soft and too much of a sissy as a running back to be effective in Winnipeg. It's an easy position to recruit for, why settle for someone who goes down on contact that easy and hesitates before hitting the line of scrimmage? Any scouting department worth it's salt should be able to find runningbacks who can do the job. The fact that Cotton when given the ball looks better should show that Grigsby ain't worth worrying about. It's only two games, but realistically the guy (Cotton) has had limited reps and it does take some time to get your timing down in game speed, plus the whole offense was a train wreck in Edmonton (for some reason, Willy and the Offense match up extremely poorly against the Edmonton D - 3 points at home in their first game and 3 points in real time, 6 in garbage time, here in Edmonton). I hoping Cotton has another strong game. But.... I'll be watching Grigsby to see if he's a liar (the fact it was 'him' against the world here) or telling the truth. Why do you need to watch Grigsby more? We saw him plenty here. No one is saying the OL is blameless, that's why what happened with Cotton in Edmonton is less concerning, the OL got worked there.... but they don't get worked every play and Grigsby we have seen leave a lot of yards on the field. Look if a guy is met by 2 or 3 DL in the backfield then yes we can put the blame on the OL, but if he stops running in the backfield and goes sideways and then gets caught that's on the RB, if he has a hole but gets tripped up by an arm that's on the RB. If he runs into the backside is blockers past the LOS that's on the RB. Grigsby did a lot of those things and that's why it doesn't matter what he does in Hamilton. Cotton seems to be a much more elusive back who is willing to just run into traffic and maybe find a way to squeak out a few extra yards.

Neufeld not playing just makes it worse. hell Hall and a late round pick is fine too, but a 2nd round? Too much. Taman was the one looking to add a piece for a playoff run, coulda squeezed him harder than Walters did.
  21. Calgary could build a new stadium if they really wanted to, trouble is with Edmonton building a brand spanking new hockey arena Calgary gets that inadequate feeling and is going to focus on a new arena so that Edmonton doesn't outright win the long cock competition.

  24. 3 GC MOP awards suggests the opposite, he was a great QB elevating some very average teams. That just says he did well under pressure. The MOP award generally goes to the winning qb anyway, unless they completely crapped their pants. Apparently a lot of people only remember Damon Allen from his time with the Argos. If he was truly one of the elite qbs the game has seen he would have been on dominant teams because dominant teams have dominant quarterbacks.
  25. Bomber backups come in and play everyone goes "hey not bad" rider backups go in the team goes "OH ****! SIGN KERRY JOSEPH AND PLAY HIM!!11!!!!!!" argument over. Go slink back to riderfans and drink some more koolaid.
