  1. No he's not. He is missing the consistency that Edwards had.
  2. I like Denmark, he's got a lot of skill, trouble with him is that he needs to be a second fiddle to someone to really shine. When the spotlight is on him he isn't as good. That's a problem when you're paid like a star and the team went and signed some big ticket free agents. Once again we're relying on Kyle Walters to finally find a receiver through scouting in order to make the passing game dangerous. Let's hope this year works out better than the past couple.
  3. Denmark makes too much to be in the role he is in. Still need more talent at receiver I think.
  4. Yeah I definitely had that one in the past. They had a Rye IPA that was good too, I am still partial to the Big Caboose Red Ale of theirs though, and the pale ale is solid, matter of fact their brown is a good offering too.... yeah solid brewery but as I said, disappointed in the tap room only having a few options on tap.
  5. I think it was Labatts that bought Granville Island, still their stuff tastes mostly the same and it's still pretty good. I've been quite enjoying another of the bought out by the big guys craft brewers to be honest. Goose Island IPA is hands down my favourite IPA. Nice balance and not overly hopped like some stupid IPAs. The Honkers Ale is damned good too. Just a shame that buying their beer supports the evil big companies. Stopped in at the Fernie Brewing Company tap room on the weekend while in Fernie, was kind of disappointed truthfully, they have a big lineup of beers but only had 6 on tap. Anyway they had a collaboration with Whistler Brewing company that was pretty tasty, Springshred Red session ale. Was solid stuff. Also rather enjoyed their Slingshot session IPA. not overly stupid on the hops and lots of flavour.
  6. It's the REDBLACKS! way. They've bitched and moaned about everything, probably because the CFL was so desperate to make them good right away that they actually thought they were special.
  7. Well my solution would have been to not hire him in the first place. I mean we fired the guy twice for good reasons
  8. Blizzard games tended to have some interesting stories but this film concerns me greatly.... I think dungeons and dragonning it is a big concern. I also worry they'll try and stuff too many Easter eggs in for fans it will just be too silly.
  9. If you do it well though you can have it both ways. Wrath of Kahn is held in such high regard precisely because it bridged the gap between examining a theme and combining it with some action. I've said it before in other threads that I hate the trend of action movies these days to be written around a couple big sequences. It's totally backwards and inorganic. The newer Trek movies suffered from that and so have the Transformers movies. We'll call it Michael Bay syndrome
  10. Star Trek the Undiscovered Wrath of Kahn was just so lazy. I enjoyed it in the theatre cause I'm a sucker for call backs and references but after some time to reflect on the movie it's really a mash up of Wrath of Kahn and the Undiscovered Country filled with enormous plot holes and a story that really doesn't make much sense. I was excited about the idea of rebooting the universe a bit to avoid having to stick to some of the cluttered canon but it's like they just tried way to hard to give us some fan service rather than caring about making a movie that made sense. I actually liked most of the actors they got for the cast as well. I think they could all channel the original characters well enough, the thing just got so far off the rails it was more of a parody than anything.
  11. He's an assistant coach though. Yes I see some validity in wanting to run an offense his way with the kind of players he wants, but sometimes that's not the best solution when you have a head coach and general manage above you in the pecking order each with their own ideas. Sometimes a coach has to be able to adapt to what he has. Adaptability is the best trait that a coach can have and I dunno that Lapo is all that adaptable.
  12. I would like to see a new Trek series. I never really watched Enterprise, saw a few episodes here and there and never really got into it, Voyager to me was just terrible but when I was young I loved TNG and DS9, the latter being my favourite of the series. I think given the way people view TV now it would lend itself very well to some longer running story arcs as opposed to having an alien of the week situation. Just have to remember that Star Trek really isn't about the big space battles and adventure like Star Wars is (something I think they failed to recognize in the last couple movies). Keep it focussed on examining what humanity is and I think they've got something.
  13. Hell Lapo wanted say in what players were brought in for the offense. Guy is a control freak. All I can say is the offense better be damned good this year cause I didn't care for the hire but knowing the ego he's bringing with him he better back it up.
  14. We said the same last year though
  15. Does it really? Same questions about the OL, same questions about the DL far as I can see... They added some receivers and a bit of NI depth but there's still some questions about this team. I seem to recall people saying after FA last year that the team looked pretty good personnel wise as well. Given his history Walters doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt because this team has been lacking talent his whole tenure. I'm giving him a chance to come through for sure, but he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt because he hasn't earned that yet.
  16. If you do enjoy Game of Thrones I would say do yourself a favour and read the books. They're very different at this point in the series and just on a completely different level. I always feel like people who only watch the show are short changing themselves. They've ****** up so much of the show I don't believe I'll even watch the new seasons until the books are finished. (Hurry up fat man, write the ******* things, you've had more than enough time)
  17. You never have to justify taking the best player available and I quite frankly disagree entirely with drafting on need as opposed to BPA.
  18. Yeah it's canon. They just recast it cause Norton didn't play well with others. Think they made a reference to Blonsky in agents of shield as well.
  19. then that means you yourself are one of them because it means you don't view the delusions as delusional.
  20. Nothing makes the reffing better than giving them more to call or not call. God CFL can't we just leave it alone for a while and let the referees and players and coaches all adjust without having to change things every single season? It's too much and it's no wonder the reffing is such a monumental joke.
  21. but different kinds of bad. Eakins had a better roster than Kreuger did and Kreuger got that team to play a lot better. When Eakins was fired last year Nelson had that team winning a hell of a lot more as well until the point that MacT stupidly gave way Petry and crippled the defense. This year is night and day from Eakins as well. Sure they still suck in the standings but the play is so much better and I am a firm believer that without the massive amount of impactful injuries that team would be significantly higher in the standings. Hell they were creeping close to a playoff race before Klefbom got hit with the bad luck. Then as people are getting excited for McDavid coming back and having 3 lines that present matchup problems RNH gets hurt. If you think it's the same old Oilers this year you're not paying attention.
  22. Because Hall had been in the league for a couple years and had learned from a couple real coaches before Eakins showed up? You notice how the guys most affected by Eakns were Schultz and Yakupov who both only had the lock out season with Kreuger before Eakins came to town? Hell Eberle had his numbers crippled by Eakins too and immediately bounced back when he was fired, but I think with Schultz and Yakupov the damage was too much to their rookie brains. Even Nugent-Hopkins hasn't been the same offensive player since Eakins came to town that he was prior, though he did learn the defensive side of the game quite well, to the point where he cheats for D rather than O most of the time. It's hard to describe how bad the man was as a coach to people who don't follow the team closely. This is the guy who benched Yakupov after scoring a goal because he wanted him to end the game on a positive note.
