So, Apparently Johnny Football Will Start For Als.

You are also completely ignoring the different rules between leagues. You think it's just easy for a qb to adjust to that? -

We generally don't see worthwhile QB prospects up here until after they have exhausted their NFL options. You can't compare for that reason alone. They get all the top qb prospects and the cfl is left trying to find diamonds in the rough. Streveler is unique in that he came here before even trying his luck in the NFL. -
I'd rather see 1 or 2 legit top American receivers and the the canadians cause the Canucks can play. I trust them more than the Americans.

Ok so you're making a false equivalency between the cfl and NFL then. One of the reasons that the cfl has had a harder time finding young qbs is the NFL has started looking at the type of qbs that would traditionally be over looked and ended up in the cfl. Can't compare how the two leagues recruit qbs. -

Is it though? Lulay took the starting job back from Jennings, only reason ray isn't starting in Toronto is injury and an older QB replaced the hotshot you guy there. Hamilton stuck with a more experienced guy in masoli rather and go for Manziel, riders went with experienced collaros over Bridge. Honestly who are these teams giving young qbs a chance over experience? -
Well you also have to consider that Jeffcoat and Corney are sitting on the IR, that takes a bite out of your depth. Moving on from Westerman isn't really the issue, more of a roster management issue with regards to the numbers of each position around. When the team is healthy they had the 4 DEs they were rotating through.

Showed up back at the stadium in a cab according to tsn. Would have loved to see him get back into the game just because that's the kind of story that gets told for a long long time.

Not talking about you, but there are people here who seem to have flipped from cheering for the Bombers to cheering for certain people to be fired. It's the same people as always. They are just the type of fans who only show up when things are miserable and they cheer for firings cause that's the type of fan they are. I feel sorry for them truthfully. Going through life that angry and miserable.... -
I think we gotta go further back than that, cause they turned on Khari too, they turned on Bell, they turned on everyone who played before Bell showed up. That's the way Bomber fans are. Fickle bunch with not patience for anything.
-
What are you talking about? Last year there would have been a crossover with 7 wins, the year before 8 was all that was needed. 2014 9, so what I said is 100% true.
-
When the backup unequivocally takes the job. Streveler didn't do that against the Riders.
-
Well yes, those bad decisions were egregious, but if we were to take into account his game before the complete meltdown it wasn't that bad. Especially when you factor in the drops he had early. The entire offense has been **** the last month and it's not all on the qb.
-
Only if you are ready to move on from Nichols, which is a short sighted view in my mind. Streveler hasn't proven he's better yet so until that happens stick with Nichols.
-
If they go 4-2 or 5-1 they are guaranteed to be in the playoffs in some form. You get to .500 or better you're not missing the playoffs. Hell 8 wins is generally plenty to make the playoffs.
-
And if you start Streveler and he beats a sad sack Montreal team and the team goes into Edmonton thinking problem solved and turns out he isn't really ready then you have both qbs being ******. No given that there wasn't a huge difference in their respective performances last game you 100% go back to your veteran guy.
-
I don't like the Edmonton defense vs. The run game in general. Game 1 I don't put a huge amount of stock into just because of the first game for a rookie qb and the crazy weather delays. Harris has done work against them in years past and I still see some of the same weaknesses.
-
See I see Edmonton as more of a test for the D than the offense. I don't believe that the esks can handle Harris so the offense should work fine, only a matter of can the D limit the big plays.
-
Simple fact is that Streveler didn't do enough to steal the start from Nichols. Same yardage, same completion %. Not gonna take the vets job like that. Leash gets shorter for Nichols, but he gets the chance to rebound.
-
Lapo had a great time against the Als this year too. Just for the record.
-
beating the bombers who started off like 7-0 or something. It's the CFL, doesn't matter what you do in the regular season, only matters what you do in the fall.
-
But they aren't planning on firing them...
-
Well Greg Carr was alright too, before he bailed in free agency.
-
Edmonton got to negotiate with Reilly before trading Winnipeg didn't, that should tell you everything you need to know about the chances of actually getting him back then.
-
Totally agree with that. Lapo thinks the deep ball is a race downfield. But guys like Duke Williams aren't burners, just guys who can win battles and get separation. And lapo is the fit coaching receivers. He just be a hell of an interview because he continually displays the same problems with his offense even 16 years after we first gave him a shot.

Fogg in game 1 just before "halftime" at very least.
