  1. Don't think Bombers will draft too much for positional need in this one since there are a lot of great players in the draft. But it will be heavy on OL/DL, LB/DB, receiver. I expect almost all their picks in the first half of the draft to be from these position groups. See what combine looks like but doesn't look like any viable tailbacks in the crew, couple guys that might get converted into FB/TE types. Not much use in drafting a guy that's played FB in U Sports and runs like a lineman.
  2. It is funny though because the extra Canadian is used for some flexibility and you could easily use the nationalized rule to give you more flexibility in case of injury. It's actually incredibly stupid to not use it even if you don't plan on functionally using it for substitutions....you can have it in your back pocket in case you get some injuries.
  3. Pigrome was ******* awful in Ottawa. He had more than one game where he had multiple turnovers on short-yardage. Don't think the Bombers would sign him, honestly don't think anyone in the CFL will. He's probably headed to arena ball.
  4. Agreed. But we've got very little out of the drafts in general. I'm not as confident in the ability to run 3 imports on the OL and not force a significant drop off on D if needed. They'll have to really hit a couple home runs in this upcoming draft. It's deep but also deep in guys that might take awhile to get here.
  5. I'm not talking experienced depth. I'm talking anything to show from the past two drafts. It's a total departure from how they've steadily built the OL during this entire regime going on a decade having depth ready to play when they've needed it.
  6. Hasn't always been. We literally have nobody in the Eli/Dobson spots from a year ago. Major gamble that rookie will be able to play right away. No one in the queue like we've had before to cover off for guys missing most of seasons and limited space to add in terms of $$$. An issue.
  7. There's a cause and effect though. She reports misconduct by star QB. Contract isn't renewed. She had been with the team for 6 years, 5 seasons because of 2020 cancellation. Retaliation is a form of wrongful dismissal and the lead up with the accusation to not renewing the contract will be looked at as such in civil court.
  8. More concerned about OL. Imagine 1-2 injuries on the Canadians. Yikes.
  9. We'd be saying Al Couture shouldn't have wore those tight pants.
  10. Rider Store inundated with jersey orders from Winnipeg.
  11. Receiver battle shaping up to be the one to watch. Think they are looking for a slot to replace Bailey, another rangy wideout type and a returner/gadget guy out of the Americans. Interesting how many guys we have signed at receiver who played some QB in college too. Almost too many to be a coincidence.
  12. He's not on criminal trial here but he's been convicted twice criminally in the US. So technically calling him a criminal is truthful.
  13. Other thing is if guys haven't really been playing for awhile or even trying out they might not be anywhere near the kind of shape they need to be in to come in and compete. But they should have had eyes on and worked these guys out recently.
  14. It's a civil case. The court is testing if the plaintiff was harmed, if the respondent(s) are liable for that harm, what the damages are and how those damages will be covered.
  15. The week of the East Final. It's all in there. East Final was Nov 11 so the major escalation of events was that week. Remember the game was on Saturday.
  16. Not in a civil case re the burden of proof. Criminal yes. Civil complainints need to prove damages.
  17. There could be some pretty big damages in a civil case like this in Canada. Say judge finds that the Argos handling of this situation impairs her ability to be a S&C coach in pro sports. That's what, 20 years of earnings she could be after? That's a few million bucks.
  18. Pinball is old boys club through and through. The Argos had a load of scumbags in his time as a coach. When we hired O'Shea one of my main concerns is he'd bring that stink in here but he seems to have some human-level accountability.
  19. It always has been a soft cap. There's consequences for spending over the limit. In hard capped leagues they literally start waiving players off the roster to make the team compliant if they are over (like the NHL).
  20. Jefferson needs to play about 2/3 of snaps. His impact plays don't increase if he plays more. He has more plays with his hands on his hips watching guys run by him, big negative plays, drives where the D can't get off the field. Grab one of the Global DL, grab a couple Canadian guys that can be role players. Roll with 8 DL.
  21. You've got your games mixed up. Jeffcoat played Game 1 vs Hamilton. As did Haba. He was out June 16, 22 and Sept 16 plus the final game. You might be confused because Jeffcoat didn't record any stats so you won't see him on the CFL.CA game log. Here's the depth chart: https://static.cfl.ca/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2023/06/HAMILTON-AT-WINNIPEG_JUNE-9-UPDATED.pdf
  22. There's nobody anyone is worried about 1 on 1 in there. Maybe Bane. KSB has some YAC ability but is pretty limited in terms of creating space for himself. Him and Lenius are also constantly banged up. No one in there that's much of a vertical threat.
  23. Not too sure about O either. Harris has to make it back. Don't see a #1 receiver there.
  24. Riders have nice depth. And still have picks. Fry is kind of a Gray type, less raw talent, came through better system in U Sports for developing zone blockers. Hardrick is kind of an odd fit there honestly. If I'm them I'd spend that money on a receiver. Think they are looking at Hardrick as kind of a culture builder...but they are basically forced to use him even if he keeps trending toward bad.
  25. I mean there's tons of Americans who have come up and played right away. Hamilton has started rookie Americans in Grey Cups against us. The one guy from BYU.
