  1. Hef needs to make his offseason home out here in Seattle, where we've kinda put this whole prohibition bullshit behind us.

    (never mind) ... double post

I like them, and I really like the stripes on the away sleeves, but I'd like the homes better with white pants. Don't like unis with the sames colour of jersey and pants. The Sask. all-whites and the Bomber all-blues look brutal.

No longer will Ottawa - Gatineau be content to be a mere National Capital Region -- they must be the National CAPITAL Region! yuk yuk yuk

If anyone can make it go in Ottawa, it's Jeff Hunt. He's got a really solid reputation there from all his years of owning the 67's, which gives the team a lot of credibility out of the gate. Especially considering that crappy ownership -- the Gliebermens, Bruce Firestone, Horn Chen -- was the major thing holding the old Ottawa CFL teams back.

Not a big fan of the name, but I am really stoked to see the CFL back in Ottawa.
  7. Except Watkins is a no-show. If he doesn't come back, Toronto will turn over more than half of its secondary -- and it sounds like Horne is going to start the season hurt on top of that. Better hope that Barker can find some new kids who can play. If he can't, the 2013 Argos might resemble the 2012 Ticats.
  8. I suspect that a penchant for big fumbles ... has cost Williams more NFL opportunities than a extra year of CFL football will. That said, I can't really blame a pro football player for looking out for #1. Even if it were Henoc or Chris Matthews or Chad Simpson or whomever. With a very few exceptions, the power balance in football in tilted ridiculously away from the players. Players can be cut at any time, so contract term is meaningless. The sport can cripple you for life. The average player plays for only 2-3 years, anyway. If you got a shot at making it pay, you gotta take it. If it came down to feeding my family vs. pissing off some fans, I know where I'd fall.
  9. (never mind)
  10. Oh man I want this guy to play in the CFL. It's been too long since we had a name as good as Wonderful Monds or Prince McJunkins in the league.
  11. Wow, that feature list is super boss. Thanks for all your work, you guys!
  12. (animated gif of Chris Matthews nodding in satisfaction)
  13. This sounds great, we needed seven different tailbacks (Garret, Dorzon, Simpson, Ford, Woodson, Riva, Volny) to get through the year last year, so depth is necessary. Also maybe they're high enough on their Canadian OL that we can make regular use of two import RBs, which would be fantastic.
  14. Are they doing this to try to get Poblah inside?
  15. +1
  16. Perhaps a guide to fourth quarter time management; down by x scores, y time remaining, when are you in a three-down situation and when can you punt? when to go for two point converts etc... yeah, could be. I remember a game in Ottawa in the nineties when the Rider coach forgot to go for two after scoring a TD and going up by four. The entire south side upper deck, where all the freaks sit, was screaming for him to go for two. The Riders lost by one that day. Man, that was a terrible team to watch.

  18. It's interesting that Isaac Anderson is at rookie camp given that he started a few games last year. He sure looked good in those games.
  19. I'm not a big fan of sigs, especially with the very subtle division between posts. They make the forum harder to read by jamming repeated off-topic text into the middle of the narrative. I don't think that sig files add too much value. They quickly become tedious and don't help identify the poster -- we have avatars and usernames for that. So if the site didn't have sigs, I think it would be better.

It's not the people who disagree with me that I want to block. It's the people who are really, really tedious.

Rookie training camp, new bomber fan site, it's all coming up roses right now. Thanks for stepping up, you guys. This is gonna be great.
