None. Glad to see you booked one. I believe it was the opposite. Oxford university conducted studies on all ages and in England had a higher proportion of elderly in their studies. As has been said just about all have near 100% efficacy against severe illness or death. Give me whatever jab I can get as soon as I can get it. That is AZ on Monday.

Was so disgusted with the first period I decided to take the dog for a walk. Quite enjoyed Paul Edmonds call of the second period.

Seems like Winnipeg is about 3 weeks. Rural sites much less. Have a cousin in Carman that became eligible yesterday called and had an appointment in 40 minutes. Had to get in the car and hustle.

Winnipeg has its own share of Covidiots too. Two videos circulating of incidents of a couple attending a Canadian Tire and a Home Depot without masks. https://www.reddit.com/r/Winnipeg/comments/mkabrc/anti_masker_at_home_depot_polo_park_gets_taken/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf https://www.reddit.com/r/Winnipeg/comments/mk8ae8/anti_maskers_in_grant_park_canadian_tire_being/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Seems to me that Ehlers has been pretty quiet this week. I feeling that changes tonight.

I can’t remember where I heard it but I am pretty sure I heard that the Flames have been shorthanded more than any other team in the league. Dirty or poor discipline? I’ll let you decide.

No Game 34 Calgary thread?

If you are referring to the Quebec National Research Council plant I believe the deal is to produce the Moderna vaccine long after they have said we will all be vaccinated. I wonder why they didn’t make use of the empty NRC buildings in downtown Winnipeg... Oh yeah, Winnipeg isn’t in Quebec...

Couldn’t stay up and watch the game, saw the score and Copp’s 4 as soon as I got up. First thing I thought was was Wheeler hurt that bad and Copp took his spot on the first? Nope, but glorious none the less.

A couple factors to consider. As the age limit gets lowered each year represents many more people than the group before. The number of people 65 is many more than 70, 63 and 64 will be even more. Even with a steady supply of vaccine these changes will be less frequent. Secondly out vaccine supply is not consistent, not even remotely so. EU, USA and India all have or working on ways to bolster domestic supply by curbing exports. I hope it doesn’t come to it but I won’t be surprised if we don’t see a resumption of steady supply until May/June once the EU is much farther along in its program and we start to get their extras.

I said IF sold properly, the whole idea of what it replaces is exactly the key. Small government conservatives would be in their glory if they truly understood how many programs and union jobs could be eliminated. Current Liberals will never push it too hard as too many of their friends would lose. Much like the idea of defunding the police. It would be great to get some of that money to the proper social agencies and remove that work from law enforcement scope but I don’t see it happening. Would require a massive initial spend to save money years down the road but they all know that lowering the spending after the initial boost isn’t likely going to go over well and in the end they just spend more everywhere.

Lots of examples of this have been posted already and I agree with them. Here is one other way, if one looked at a Minimum Guaranteed Income from the idea that the overall cost is less than 1000 other social programs than would be eliminated it would be easy for fiscally conservatives to get behind. Liberals and the Left never could because they wouldn't be able to stay in power as too many of the special interest and friends would become redundant.

Wasn't this the same story in Quebec with a recent Federal Election, the one that brought Trudeau to power in the first place rings a bell. A 20 year old that had to cut her spring break trip short to come home and get sworn in or something?
-
Without Bloc still having a virtual lock on Quebec I see a similar situation to the last election happening again. Calling an election anytime soon is just a waste of tax payer dollars, so an almost certainty it will happen.

I’m not sure if this has been posted before or not but Drs Manitoba has put up a great vaccine related site. https://www.manitobavaccine.ca/ The provincial one is solely based on age and not any of the new health related criteria for the AZ shot from Drs to pharmacists.

I agree that Douglas is a good guy, so is Jon Gerard they just can’t put up a full slate of quality candidates especially in rural Manitoba so they are dead in the water. They need to have a candidate in place now in the South East Bible Belt out there acting as an alternative to the Cons. Only way they will ever be relevant again is to capitalize on some of the rural vortex that will never go NDP but alas as much as they hate Pallister right now they will vote Con in the next election anyway.

A 27 year career with Peak and several other positions before a guy can’t just retire? The reason is he has accomplished what he feels he needs to and would like to relax and enjoy life a little.

I couldn’t agree more. Gentleman Jack forced every leader to be better. The level of integrity he had raised the bar for all. He could have been a dynasty Prime Minister if he lead a more palatable platform.

Exactly this, the more vaccine's the better. Whichever one is one the menu the day my number is called I am all for it. There is still a lot of confusion about the vaccine's, especially the Astra-Zeneca. There are no contra-indications for those over 65, just not enough in the studies to be able to declare it effective. Germany has now completed their own study and approved it for over 65 and the UK has been administering it over 65 for a few weeks already. It is getting to the point now that I am starting to wonder about kids. When will we have news for the under 16 year olds?

Manitoba made a similar announcement re the 4 month delay on second dose Wednesday. They weren’t quite as bold as committing to first doses by June as there has been no confirmation of dose numbers from the feds yet. Sounds like J&J will be approved by end of month. Summer travel and butts in seats at IGF is starting to sound possible again.

I hear you and I am sorry for your suffering. I am not sure any government can be blamed for you going bankrupt, you are in the unfortunate position of being in the industry that will be most and longest affected. You are a true entrepreneur and will hustle and get through it. Like all the best ones you will find a way.

Meanwhile in Texas (7620 new cases and 266 deaths today), mask mandate has been rescinded and businesses can operate at 100%. “ We are doing the best we have in 5 months and are on pace to vaccinate 1,000,000 people per week.”

I am not sure why you think not being enforced. We’ve been out three times and each time had to affirm we were same household. I didn’t see any obvious violations either.
-
I expect some loosened conditions this week but we will be level red until the end of March at least. They couldn’t move us to orange without loosening travel or gathering restrictions. I am not hopeful but would love to see the household restrictions on restaurants lifted. It make no sense that my MIL can come here for supper but we can’t go out together.

I suspect the numbers are bouncing up and down based on the timing of yest results from the North. From what I understand they are doing rapid tests on reserve but only announcing them once lab confirmed. That is likely why some days are higher than others.
