  1. We have to talk about something...
  2. i agree.. a young proven QB is desirable. Since none are available, we are left with 2 choices.. go hard after a vet QB like ray (if available) Glenn or Burris.. or go with a young but unproven like Collaros or any of the other backups.. same boat as seasons past... this kick of the can i really hope we go for a 3-5 season gate keeper and eithrler trade or FA the next one.. we can ill afford another clown show offense next season.. Precisely. This team will be in deep trouble if the O is still this bad next year. Both in the seats and on the field.
  3. I agree. To develop him behind our O-line? We won't get RR, but I'd take simply because he'd make this team look better while they rebuild.
  4. If by some miracle Toronto decided to protect Collaros instead of Ray... In my opinion, that would be the best possible scenario for the Bombers. A younger QB like Collaros probably wouldn't adjust very well to a subpar OL. Ray could run an offence similar to the one they wanted Pierce to run this year. If they can add / retain some talent on D and have a half-decent running game, this team could be .500 with Ray's ball-control quick release offence. But I dare say it's not going to happen. I think RR will take the Argos into the playoffs with some good momentum (they play us twice, the Als once) and a first place berth. That should translate into a GC appearance. Calgary should come out of the West. While they have an enviable QB situation overall, I think RR is a better starter than any their three. If it's Ray vs. Glenn or Mitchell, I think the Argos will win another championship. RR in Winnipeg...that's almost impossible... Just my 0.02
  5. This was another game that was decided by a couple of big plays. BC ties it up but a big Cornish run and a pick 6 seal the deal
  6. Re Manning: particularly when he's not happy with the protection
  7. There seems to be a perception that this team needs to start two import tackles. If they could get a decent Canadian starting at tackle, that would be a step in the right direction, IMO. Not saying that's Neufeld, but Neufeld could be depth or maybe a half-decent starter. And even if they do start two imports @ OT going forward, there's no reason why a Canadian can't back them up.
  8. Dickenson? Stamps OC...oui?
  9. They aren't term limits. They can be re-elected to the Board for multiple terms. I'm thinking it'd be something like school trustees...win by acclamation every four years.
  10. You mean the recess offense? Best part of that is our coach telling the entire world that we're cutting the playbook in half. Should make film study a lot easier for the Stamps. The guy just can't control himself. Given the way some those plays were executed...Dickenson could probably figure it out without a Burke tip-off
  11. That couldn't possibly be rocket science...
  12. Collaros played like that against Calgary, but then rebounded quite nicely.
  13. Just an innocent mistate? Of course you won't make the trade NOW, but you can start negotiating NOW. In fact it's probably the prudent thing to do. ] Who says their not negotiating? Do you really think they're going to broadcast to all of us every plan they might be scheming? I think they are and no they shouldn't broadcast. Nor did I mean to imply that they should.

  15. The Esks have the luxury of two QB masterminds currently looking for work - Mike Kelly and Gary Crowton - capable of designing packages and coming up with plays to make sure Reilly is more protected from now on. Oh the surfeit of riches of available talent! I know you're being sarcastic but the Bombers allowed the fewest sacks in the league when Mike Kelly was here. Perhaps more two and outs = fewer sack opportunities We punted 157 times, which was 21 more punts than the next closest team
  16. And the league should looking at that hit...
  17. If Ray comes back from injury and leads the Argos to the GC again (good chance of that happening) he'll be their starter next year.
  18. This was just a matter of time. However, I think the Esks OL is worse than ours. Reilly has been taking brutal hits every single week.
  19. LOL, As if there weren't enough other things to criticize.
  20. Sarcasm is your forte, sir.
  21. And in all seriousness...not playing a guy like Zack Anderson every down? To allow 3 American OL to start? Pencer couldn't have been worse than what we saw from the right side today.
  22. That was insane....Boltus didn't look even close to being ready.
  23. Horrible game...the D deserved better.
  24. Agreed, except that the drop off in talent when 'you just slot another NI in somewhere else and play an American at MLB' can pretty steep. Not so much when you go from NI OG to NI OG, if you've been drafting and developing NI OGs. I don't necessarily agree. The drop off is usually going to be steep in any situation. If you're capable enough to start as a Canadian in this league, you rarely sit on the bench. When OL like Labatte, Perrett, Tsoumpas, et. al. are not in the line-up...I would be willing to bet it shrinks the offensive playbook.
  25. That's not necessarily a reason to change the ratio...it could also be a reason to scout for better Americans.
