  1. I'm beyond incredulous on this topic. Of course that is an example of gender pay gap. But when I cite an example from the teaching profession, of administrators more often being male, you just dismiss it. Here, you have cited the exact same thing: not a difference in pay, but a difference in opportunity, which leads to a pay gap.
  2. When I get paid more for banging my head against a wall than a woman does.
  3. ex·ist verb 1. have objective reality or being. "there existed no organization to cope with espionage" When you say something does not exist, it means it has no reality, no being. To say the 'gender pay gap' does not exist means it is not there at all. When someone does cite an example or two, it makes no sense to say 'it does not exist.' Or are some of you just being deliberately obtuse?
  4. No, that is not what’s happening. But that’s not the only way a pay gap can exist.
  5. Yeah, ah seen ‘um look & chuck it that way all the time.
  6. I gave evidence from my own profession - I even told you that the government and the unions view it as an issue and are looking into it. Granted, there may be some fields where it doesn't happen - but that doesn't mean that it never happens anywhere.
  7. I think you’re both, as we all should be.
  8. I’ve read several articles. Basically, the more I read the the less I know. It’s literally the elephant in the room, though. Most articles indicate 2 - 3 billion dollars are needed.
  9. Maybe I’ll have time tomorrow. Union job - gotta work on the weekend, lmao
  10. If government has to cover an oil company’s clean up costs - how is that not a subsidy? I’ll use manure management in the farming sector as an example. They come to your farm and dictate exactly what you’re supposed to do - but they sure won’t pay a dime of the costs.
  11. This is weird in several ways - but okay.
  12. Maximum penalty: the amount you were over cap, plus a $250 000 fine and 3 draft picks. The answer to your penalties question Mr. Skunk - is YES.
  13. I know. If you go back far enough in evolution, you have more questions that answers. Especially the question: who started all this? However, that isn't a reason to not see evolution as a possibility at the very least. It's the same thing with man made climate change. It's questionable - but there are no valid reasons to believe that human beings are not having an impact on the climate of the planet.
  14. Denying climate change is the same thing. In both cases, one can make arguments that they are inconclusive - because they both are.
  15. They got mentioned together because neither of them should be rejected.
  16. Well, well - that tired old argument. Do you believe in evolution? Because according to that logic, you shouldn’t.
  17. Low expectations, top notch night life.
  18. A farmer out in the St. Malo / St. Pierre area does very well growing cucumbers year ‘round.
  19. Here, greenhouses have a hard time finding workers. In fact, the local greenhouse in Petersfield relies mostly on immigrants and refugees. That mentality needs to change - or it won't matter how many programs we come up with.
  20. Agreed. Anything that is not legitimate needs to be ruthlessly eliminated. Eg. recycling programs that don't really recycle; 'organic' food imported from Asia; Electric cars in areas where electricity is generated from coal; etc. etc. Things that look good on the surface but really accomplish nothing.
  21. I’m not ignoring Science, I’m pointing the realities of these changes.
  22. Nitrogen fertilizer is an oil product - I didn’t know Denmark stopped using it. If you want those kinds of changes, be prepared for the sacrifices that come with them - it won’t be just farmers making sacrifices.
  23. The bottom line is living with less - which most of us suck at - badly. eg. Manitoba has more passenger vehicles than licensed drivers. We’re having fewer children but building larger houses. I don’t see any will to do the kind of work that would be required if farming were done with fewer hydrocarbons. Ask any vegetable or fruit grower who does their physical work. Teach children how to pull weeds, butcher chickens and gather potatoes - no one can be exempt from this kind of work. Recycling. The current solution is to ship it all to China, who turn it into products that keep our dollar stores full.
  24. They had an election - there was only one candidate - he has their full support.
  25. It could be both or neither, certainly not either or. Believe it or not, the issue is on the unions’ and governments’ radar and is currently under review. The original question is: does it exist? Answer: yes
