  1. To be fair here chaps - Manitoba did do alright in the ‘first go round.’
  2. Procrastinators unite...tomorrow.
  3. 2019 was dry with a wet fall - 2020 was dry all the way through.
  4. I'd say there's about a snowball's chance in hell of that...called me biased, but we have the best OTs in the league...with centre and guard right behind them.
  5. Fun fact: 1961 used to be the driest year on record. 2020 broke that record by about 50 mm Source - CJOB

Quite a few of the recent Interlake cases are from remote / northern areas of this region - but yes, still showing improvement.
  7. Math needs context - that site does not provide enough of it. "Renewables will supply 8% of global energy by 2050" - they need to show how they arrive that - or give a source for it, at the very least.
  8. I sincerely hope you can give a legitimate source for this information. One that doesn't run along the same lines as the 'Covid is a hoax' and 'anti-vax movements.'

I'm speaking from experience on this one. They very likely did mass testing in known clusters in the Northern region & now those are all complete Covid can really wreak havoc in a communal living situation, but it is also easier to identify and control, once you know it is there. With cases already dropping in the Winnipeg region, this was bound to happen, sooner rather than later. The rest of this week will tell the tale...

You've got to really feel for places like The Pas and Flin Flon. They have very low case counts & their hospitals are not overloaded Yet, the loosened restrictions don't apply to them, because they're in Northern Health Region.
  11. He already is. If a U.S. President had as much power as a Canadian PM with a majority, it would be an absolute disaster.

Lol. And a month later some of the heralded provinces are a disaster.

There is optimism as we see fewer cases across the province. This is because “YOU” have made good decisions in regards to your activities and gatherings. There will always be those who choose not to adhere to the rules, but the majority of people did the right thing during Christmas and New Years and the numbers are reflecting that. That means we can prepare for reopening at a slow pace. We don’t want to return to this type of lockdown. This process will be slow but productive if done correctly. All provinces (except the Maritimes) are now seeing alarming increases because they did not impose restrictions during Christmas and have only done so recently. I’m happy to share as you can see that Manitoba is on the right track and cases are down substantially. This also means we have to proceed with caution and we will. This is far from over but as I said before, we feel cautiously optimistic. There will be information shared sometime next week. - MLA Eileen Clarke

The craziest thing is, this is all bigger than Donald Trump - the combination of unfettered social media and Trump giving them a voice - led to what we saw on Jan. 6

Both. I’m just tired of large retailers being able to operate.

    He has a point.

I was thinking about doing that after Jan. 20, or just locking this thread at that point. With so much going on, a merge would be confusing.

Many have also convinced themselves that 99% of the rioters were Biden supporters wearing Trump / MAGA garb (lol). Their boy Trump tried to be noble and send them home.

This is their version of joining hands and singing kumbaya - problem is - they're all tone deaf.
  20. Mark H. replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
That statement from Trump has got to be the lamest thing I've ever heard. Pretend you're sending them home while still feeding their insane rhetoric.
  21. It becomes rather unfunny...when you actually know some red hat plebs.
  22. I hope so too. Given our history with backup QBs, it is indeed difficult to not be cynical.

Something gets brought up that’s a legitimate concern, and just because it is not exactly the mainstream narrative, it gets glossed over as ‘so - called negativity.’ This gentleman would have died without intervention, and there’s no way to know how many others like him there are. I am not against the stay at home orders, but they could be presented in a way that is less fear - inducing.

When someone feels the need to stay inside 100% of the time & it begins to effect their physical and mental health, that can be just as bad as picking up the virus No one should stay inside all the time - people should be made more aware that there are safe ways to go outside I don't know which one is worse, I just know both scenarios can lead to some pretty messed up situations and messed up people.

Sure. But you have to see the whole picture. Recognize all the impacts.
