  1. OL with 3 Americans would give us a good running attack.
  2. The Vaval experiment must continue 😁
  3. Thanks. Got the fire pit going. CJOB audio only
  4. Better get JT snap totals confirmed
  5. And the rain this past Sunday was spot on.
  6. Without the smoke, we would've had a heat wave this week.
  7. Given his existing skill set at the time, his OC should have 100% tailored the game plan for him. We have seen results of that here.
  8. I will admit that I thought the focus on O had shifted more to the passing game. I remember guys like Darvin Adams, Rasheed Bailey and Drew Wolitarski, doing tons of effective blocking downfield as receivers. I feel we are seeing less of that, but the numbers show that RB touches have not changed much. I actually find that to be quite odd. I would say ZC goes deep more, while MN would throw more check downs - good thing he had a reliable RB and receivers willing to block. As for Hogan being watered down Lapo, I think you're right and I find it confusing. Why would an experienced HC and veteran QB settle for mediocrity?
  9. Whoa, I would never have guessed that ZC8 is completing almost 70%. If he could avoid other jerseys more often, he might get something going.
  10. Rich is on a canoeing trip this week, but I'm sure he'll honour your requested changes retroactively.
  11. Check down RB or receiver - 6 of one, half a dozen of the other Anyway, here are their numbers for passing and running attempts. (Wikipedia) Harris (2016-2021): 1194 / 5 = 239 / season Oliviera (2021 - 2024): 922 / 4 = 231 / season Their busiest seasons are actually quite similar. Harris: 2017: 294 2019: 295 Oliviera: 2023: 298 2024: 296
  12. When Lapo posted all that stuff, breaking down the Bombers' D last season, that is not how Hall ran his D. Harris was also used a lot as a receiver, especially when Nichols was under centre.
  13. No, the D has changed. Richie Hall's D relied a lot more on pressure. Younger's is more coverage based. The change is not as recent, but the O no longer runs primarily through the RB, both passing and running, the way it did when Andrew Harris was starting.
  14. It can't be as clear cut as this either. Man, this is a very cynical take.
  15. D like Samberg are the bedrock of good teams.
  16. There's a number of players other teams would sign if they could: Demski, Oleviera, Dobson, Vanterpool, Nichols, etc.
  17. You know it wasn't. 2019 and 2021, this was a damn hard team to play against. They physically beat other teams up.
  18. Speaking as a long term hard core fan, this is true. It's easier on the psyche to expect less during downward trends. Of course you also get occasional surprises, like 2019 and 2007.
  19. First, I'm not shitting on you. Some fans pay more attention to the team, that's just how it is. But one thing is certain: if performances like those we saw this past Saturday keep happening, the casual fans will vote with their feet. It has happened before, it will happen again. I remember attending a game at the end of 2014. Attendance was poor, and everyone but the die hards was there for the beer. The game consisted of watching Henry Burris and Co. shred our secondary. There have been some major warning signs. I mean, losing a Grey Cup to Nick Arbuckle - that's quite glaring if you stop to think about it.
  20. That's what has me stumped...we still have the same HC. And Younger was solid at DC last year.
  21. Yep. Ckeaned it up, banned the bots.
  22. I agree. To me it looks like teams have clued into schemes and/or inferior talents at some positions. OL, Receiver, maybe DL - I can understand why there would be challenges there. But the secondary was dominant last year, while the LB corps was certainly adequate. These guys didn't suddenly forget how to play football. Kick cover is as good as ever. The running game is solid and could be dominant if the passing game were more of a threat. Whatever is up with the secondary needs to be sorted out. And in my opinion the offense needs to revert to a more ball control type of game. They DON'T have the OL to make ZC's beloved deep shots work consistently. With some adjustments, this could be a .500 football team. Just my realistic 0.02
