  1. Countering a blitz pre-snap is a lot harder to do if you don't know it's coming.
  2. Absolutely. Just like he "sewered his teams chances" when he put Bridge in cold when they were in the red zone. Remember this is Jones we're talking about here, nothing should surprise anyone.
  3. It's his known scheme, but the number posted by DT is still surprising. My first line of thought when I looked at that number the first time is that Jones is trying to give us least amount of footage of where the blitzes may be coming from as possible.
  4. There is a new family offer that came out today that is also advertised in the 4 page pull-out in the Freep. 4 Tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 Chips, 4 soft drinks and a parking pass for $97.00. Less than $25/person.
  5. Many of you may find this boring, but if you are a stats junkie like myself, you should appreciate this. The CFL has put together a new stat called QUAR, which is a new rating to establish a more accurate OVERALL reading of CFL quarterbacks. This new rating factors in many important categories that the typical QBR does not including: Win/Loss %, Offence/Possession (net yards and points), and second down conversion rates. This gets a big thumbs up from me. Not only do I like this specifically, I like the innovation and thought process of the CFL Head Statistician, Steve Daniel. https://www.bluebombers.com/2017/06/22/quar-tradition-meeting-innovation/
  6. "Clearly out of possession" should be determined by the actual result of the moving ball. If Grant had been able to regain his handle on the ball after it started moving out prior to the goal line, it would have obviously been a TD. The fact that the ball ended up coming out, IMO should mean that the ball was out of possession the moment it started moving.
  7. What, you've never bought questionable items just because they were on sale?
  8. Could very well be a CFL rule that prevents cameras from being on the field during the regular season.
  9. Word is that they are pretty high on Thorpe.
  10. The one thing we want to keep in mind is that our board needs to be multipurpose, used for video and score/stats/other info. Using the entire thing for video wouldn't be an option without a secondary display for the other stuff.
  11. That will be a new viewing deck. We may even have a band or two lined up to play in there as well.
  12. As you make your way down to IGF today for the game, you may notice some new changes around the building done to help enhance the overall game day experience. Some of the changes include: Viewing Decks New "viewing decks" located in the north and south main concourse level that will allow those who like to stand and socialize the opportunity to do so without impeding traffic. Roughly 400 seats were removed to accommodate the new decks and will allow for lighter congestion during bu sy times. Concession Combos In addition to new food items starting as low as $4.00, the various in-stadium concessions are now serving combo meals which include various food items AND chips/fries AND a soft drink. Combo meals get you everything together and save you a few bucks. Larger Video Screen While the overall videoboard screen size has remained the same, the size of the actual viewing space has increased somewhat significantly. Not only that, but various ads have been removed, and the live stats section has been enhanced adding to a much cleaner and overall more attractive look. Fan Services Booths New booths with field turf flooring will be located inside Gates 1 and 3 and outside Gate 4. Here you will be able to get gameday information, directions to any sections or concessions, get information about upcoming promos and purchase season and single game tickets. Skip the Dishes Social Wall You will now see large screen TVs in a few spots called the "Social Wall" which will house all Blue Bomber related social media tweets and Instagram posts. New Transit Corridor (Effective July 7th) One of the most significant changes this season will be the how transit and park and ride buses will arrive at the stadium. No longer will buses be dropping off fans on Chancellor Matheson Rd and now using the new corridor. Fans will then be able to enter into the stadium via Gate 3 or Gate 4. The new corridor will take the buses away from Chancellor Matheson and allow for better traffic flow before and after the game. If you have any questions about any of these changes, or anything else that you may see at the stadium, please don't hesitate to let me know. See you at the game!
  13. Hey guys, I have my jacket I used last season if you or anyone you know might be interested in it. Size Large, used maybe a dozen times. Good for a day like today. Hoping to get $30 for it. They sold in the store last year for $109.99. I can meet anyone who is coming to the game today too if interested.
  14. TORONTO (June 14, 2017) -- The Canadian Football League (CFL) have released the following statement on the death of legendary coach, Don Matthews: Upon hearing of the passing of Don Matthews, the Canadian Football League family is both deeply saddened by this loss and grateful for his many contributions to our league. The Don, as he was known, was one of a kind. He was a leader for so many of our greatest players and teams. He was a mentor to many of our current coaches. He was a charismatic star that loved to spar with the media at the same time he commanded the spotlight. The record book is filled with his accomplishments. He won five Grey Cups as a head coach, with Toronto (2), Montreal, Baltimore and British Columbia. That ties him for the most ever, with three other legends (Wally Buono, Frank Clair and Hugh Campbell). He was a head coach in nine Grey Cups in total, tying him for the most ever. He won five more Grey Cup rings as a defensive coordinator, all with Edmonton. He won 231 regular season games as a head coach, which made him the winningest coach in CFL history until his total was eclipsed just a few years ago. His defences and his teams inevitably took on his persona: they were bold, brash, confident. And like him, they were winners. A Canadian Football Hall of Famer, Don Matthews had style and swagger and a passion for life as well as football, and the CFL was more colourful, more compelling and simply better because he was part of it. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, all those who knew him and loved him, and the countless fans who will long remember him. - Jim Lawson, Chair of the CFL’s Board of Governors.
  15. The mystery was, it wasn't a murder after all. They guy just clawed his own eyes out.
  16. I'll say this, not a good day for people with the last name "Woods" today in the media.
  17. My advice for anyone coming to camp on Sunday would be to take University Crescent, pass the lights at Chancellor Matheson and take a right on Innovation Drive. It will be the least hassle and confusion.
  18. Hey guys, If anyone is interested, our team is looking for an extra player for the Play On tournament this weekend. Please let me know if you're interested by posting your YouTube highlight idea below. That or you can just PM me for more info. Cheers.
  19. Locked so that we can all have a merry long weekend. No need to come back to check this thread between drinks. Cheers.
