Sterns quickness and hands make him a good asset, Wheatfall, Wilson and Mitchell are all similar types of receivers so having Sterns in gives us a better mix. As far as Wheatfall vs Mitchell, Im torn but if healthy Wheatfall deserves the chance to be back in the lineup. Hate to see him lose his spot due to to that hit. Mitchell has shown some good hands but just not enough to displace Wheatfall

Given what we've seen with Zac, we need to do everything we can to protect him. If Vanderpool could help do it, even if it means not adding woods, or OShea forbid Ayers. How effective Zac will be given that likely he wiil be dumping off the ball at first sign of trouble or relying on a quick passing game ( not his strength) is a question, but cant be worse than the alternative

Our defensive rush has 0 creativity we line up three guys and 1 lb and tell them to wave their hands and push towards the qb. Meanwhile other teams run stunts and sack our qbs. If we blitz we telegraph it. Hard for any of them to be successful

Seems like if your a vet, OShea will let you play when you think you're ready (even when the team shouldn't allow it) if your new to the team then he's gonna wait til he has to put them in

We tried to make up talent difference in receivers signing Mtchell (130k), Sterns and white 105k, and adding Logan. On defense we added Vaughtner to strength the dline and Jones for Lbs, none of which worked out because once again we went for the perceived bargains. Which was my point we didnt really strengthen anything

Curious that this offseason the same thought process went though two teams at the opposite ends of the western conference The elks with Gino Lewis (Ed Hervey with his there are no superstars in cfl, no reciever is worth that), and us with the decision to go cheaper and utilize that cap space to strengthen elsewhere. In our case it blew up in a lot of ways, turns out Lawler is proving hes worth it and the free agent moves we did of a bunch of midlevel players had 0 impact. Had we utilized that cap space for an impact player on d, or even to retain Dobson or Ford - but hindsight is 50/50 as is the fact that OShea/Walters failed badly and its showing in results

With only 3 down linemen offensive line adjusts easily The lack of physicality puts us at a disadvantage, qbs will hang in there, receivers are rarely punished, one of the reasons we dont get turnovers. Adding J Jones would help us at wil or ml (Smaller dbs, and dt that mainly just try to maintain position contribute. Sask with Milligan,Sayles and Reaves as well as Rose and Johnson are way more intimidating)

Rewatch some games, Kyrie is the guy hitting the back as he hits the line of scrimmage, dbs have more tackles mainly means that passes have been completed in their area. I dont get the criticism of our lbs, they are the one area we are strong

Have you been watching the games, other than Jones Wilson is our best runstopper and it isn't even close. He's consistently the first one to the ball carrier to hold them to limited yardage and can actually tackle. I agree we need to give Shay and particularly Smith reps maybe move griffin/kramdi to safety for those and have one of them come in for downs with 4 linebacker sets
