  1. It seems fairly clear that Lawrence has some level of injury and will not play this week. Hopefully it's not too serious and only a 1 game IR situation.

Oliveria didn't practice much last week either but I suspect he'll play and this is just allowing healing time.

Bighill doesn't need reps either and there has been no indication he'll be unavailable to play.

I'm not exactly sure what the deal is with Agudosi on 2nd team reps or whether this means McCrae replaces him on the roster?  Or are we just adding McCrae on the AR in place of Jackson now that we have Eli back as an extra TE / blocker? That would give us McCrae as a receiver / RB for sweeps instead of Grant although we don't do that too much anyway.

Schmekel and Szott should also be listed on the PR, bringing the current total up to 13.  No idea what that number should be anymore.

True but at least it shows they were released and in theory moved to the PR on the transaction report.

IIRC the PR maximum was increased from 12 to 13.  That should account for Lawson and Eli returning to the AR. Houston will be added to the AR while Lawrence goes to 1 game IR. Or Daramy-Swaray gets bumped to PR.  Jeffcoat probably bumps Jackson to PR.

Ultimately there will be some further changes as the week progresses.

Sad to see Pigrome go but I feel like the coaches has a little confidence on him to be the SY guy after that miss on the goal line.
And we know Prukop is pretty automatic in SY.

Good to see Jeffcoat, Lawson, Eli and Houston back practicing.

Szott and Schmekel were moved to PR per CFL transactions page so I assume that at least Eli and Lawson will draw in.
Houston will probably replace Lawrence on that corner. In my mind, Darami-Swaray earned another game on the spot.
As for Jeffcoat, it make sense for him to backup Haba at this point.
And here's hoping we take out Damian Jackson instead of Walker / Fox.

    Any news on Lawler ?

I wish they'd update the roster at the same time as they move players to the PR. The flip side is that they didn't add in the returning players to the AR. Jeffcoat was on the 6 game IR so he has to be moved to the AR or onto the 1 game IR as an interim decision. We're assuming he'll play this week but neither the roster or transactions show that at the moment. Same thing for Houston.

If Lawrence can't play he probably moves to 1 game IR but that may still be a wait and see situation.

It's possible we might need to release someone from the PR in order to balance any additional moves.

I hope Hansen or Lawson are ready to return......otherwise bringing in another db at this time is a head scratcher and I'm getting tired of losing anymore hair

I'm thinking we practice today? If so the daily IR report might give us some clue to players that might be added to game day roster. Questions about Lawson and Houston might get further clarification even if their return is not this week.

Somewhat we added another DB after signing Mohammed previously. OTOH, the player mix on the PR is curious at best IMO.

No we good with our global punter and olineman....4th american tackle and a useless Szott and Schmeckle...no need here

Oh forgot to mention our DI'd american fullback....why would we sign National depth to better utilize the DI spot, and /or take advantage of the new Nationlized rule...It's not the Oshea way...

When Eli and Lawson are healthy / ready, then Szott and Schmekel will move to the PR I suppose.

Not sure if either will be practising this week but they've already been on the 1 game IR for 3 weeks. Have to question why they weren't placed on 6 game IR if unable to practice?? IIRC any number of 6 game IR players can be removed early and the SMS then counts against the CAP. So what is there to lose when a given player can't practice for an extended time?

I haven't heard anything about those actually on the 6 game IR and realistic time frames for return.

I don't get the Jackson situation as a DI either. Bigger roster and more imports might have made than more sense but not under current ratio rules. We need another DL in the rotation, NOW. I like Haba so far but the jury is out on Fox at the moment.

Smart short term move. I really am intrigued by Pigrome as well, but at the end of the day if the Bombers feel his upside as an actual QB is lower than Brown's than really bringing back Prukop who runs our short game very well is a no brainer. A lot of people here are thinking Pigrome had the tools to progress to QB1 someday, obviously the Bombers do not share that evaluation.

That's not necessarily true. Many players spend time on the PR to learn the CFL and mature etc. If in fact they DON'T sign him to the PR then your argument could be correct. Even on the PR, there is no certainty that a given player survives and stays with the team.

  7. It's curious that the Bombers haven't used Pigrome on any more short yardage situations. If that continues to be the case perhaps we move him to the PR if we find a better alternative in the meantime. Whether Pigrome would accept that IDK but I don't know he'd be scooped by another team to be placed on their AR.

Pigrome showed some talent but he's still pretty raw.

I can't remember whether Locksely is any good as a short yardage guy but at least he's a little more experienced and could step in as a receiver. In theory teams can have two QB's on the field at the same time. So if we have an in game injury he adds that ability. He's also had some reps as a QB, so that puts him ahead of Pigrome at the moment.

Can't find stats from 2022 to see exactly what he did.

  8. Darby didn't practice most of last week IIRC. IMO he may have been fighting fatigue issues as a result of the illness he had recently. I didn't notice any injury resulting in him being replaced by Kramdi. We'll see if he practices this week. In any case I'm confidant in his play. One bad game is not the issue for him and he certainly wasn't the only one.

However, let's give the Lion full credit for showing up with guns blazing and taking us to the cleaners.
