Back to Back - Blue Bombers vs Riders Pre-Game Chat
Can we make the joke that Lauthers baby is going to be delivered to his neighbours driveway or would that be in poor taste?

I think someone on Riderfans mentioned that Lauthers wife is imminently expecting. Maybe something to do with that

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/onsi/packers-updates-taylor-elgersma-sean-clifford-practice-squad Looks like the Packers are moving on from Clifford AND Elgersma and are picking up a different scout team QB.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Wolitarsky had 5 2nd Down Conversions last year in 10 games. Over his career with the Bombers he had 80 in 96 games In 2022 and 2023, Schoen had 81 in 34 games... I can only see stats for receivers with more than 350 yards for 2024 so don't know how many he ended up within 2024 in 51 games with the Bombers, Lawler had 76 Demski in 76 games had 82 FWIW Dillon Mitchell had 22 2nd down conversions in 2024 which is more than Wolitarsky had in any season

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
I guess you can call 2 500+ yard seasons over 6 seasons 'consistent' if you squint and say that he was on pace for that last year... before he got an injury in week 14... that kept him on the IR until Week 10 this year... and had him record absolutely 0 stats in weeks 10 and 11. He's always seemed the type that will produce as a 4th or 5th option, where the Defense has to account for the Lawlers, and the Schoens, and the Demskis or the Adams of the world, but if you are asking him to move up to even that #3 spot you are looking for trouble.

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
Interesting. My source is a couple of Packers blogs saying that he does qualify https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2025/5/19/24433214/green-bay-packers-news-taylor-elgersma-international-exemption-2025 https://thepackerspost.com/packers-made-a-smart-move-by-signing-qb-taylor-elgersma/ Weirdly enough in the Wiki entry to the IPP it states that "Some of these criteria have either changed over time or there is some discretion applied during the selection process, as not all the athletes that have come through the program in the intervening years meet all of the following criteria." so maybe there have been some changes or maybe those blogs are just misinformed.

I think Elgersma also gets helped a bit by the International Player Pathway... because he is a Canadian out of USports I think that the Packers can get an exemption to keep him on the PR where he doesn't take up a Practice Roster slot.

Are we just assuming this? Everyone is projecting them to carry just two QBs so definitely not making the AR but I thought GB wasn't announcing cuts until Tuesday

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
You can only play the teams you are scheduled against. It's a long season and every team is going to have peaks and valleys. Bombers haven't been world beaters but they've been able to pull together a few results. That 3rd loss against Calgary really sucked though because it gave a away a lot of agency the team had. Being only a game behind Sask with 3 head-to-head and a half game back of Calgary would feel far better that what we are looking at now. Win out at home though and at least one road game out east and things will be looking pretty rosy at the end of the year.

Lions at Argos / Riders at Stamps GDT
Maybe Ottawa gets sick of Brown being injured and back up the Brinks truck to Arbuckle and the Bombers can try to fix Brown
-
Lions at Argos / Riders at Stamps GDT
Arbuckle putting up some pretty gaudy stats on that Toronto team that is going no where fast. Is he going to replicate Mitchell's performance from last year as 'QB his team doesn't actually want playing while missing the playoffs but somehow becomes the East nominee for MOP'?

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Fun fact, despite being 3 games back of the Riders right now, the Bombers actually control their own destiny for a home playoff game. They also have a game and a half cushion over the Lions right now.

Nice drive for Ottawa after that turnover.

Elks and Redblacks GDT
The amount they spent on that defense in the offseason you would expect it to have been better than it has so far, although it looks to be rounding into shape. As I type this the Faj giveth and he takes away, nice looking 30 yard scramble and then he gets smoked and turned it over.

At that point just give Streveler #87 or something and have him in the Rasheed Bailey role in the offense

3 stars plus hh out meh the als
So Brady is at 900 Yards from Scrimmage which as of today puts him 2nd in the league behind only James Butler who has 1030. Brady has only played 8 games to Butlers 10 (well really 7 games and 1 drive for Brady). With 8 games left, Brady needs to average about 138 yards/game to make it to 2000... he's gone over 100 yards from scrimmage in 5 out of the 7 complete games he's played

3 stars plus hh out meh the als
I'm kind of amused I called Streveler for another return to the receiving corps... But there HAS to be a better solution for emergency receiver than the Back Up QB 11 months removed from ACL surgery right?!? A DB? A returner? Someone who only plays special teams?

Bombers at Als early chat
Streveler and then Jefferson next mans up Also where did all the safeties go?

Bombers at Als early chat
They still have to pay the dude, it just hides the cap so they can pay other dudes as well... and if he comes back they'd have to pay both of them. I'd be curious if someone like MBT who was so outspoken about players well-being last year in regards to quick turnarounds for games would be quiet about landing on an extended IR with a phantom ailment.

A message to Miller and Walters
To be fair Streveler threw 3 picks in his second victory. I'm not sure how many games you are gonna win when your starter throws 3 picks and no TDs, so I really wouldn't chock that up to him too much. People have been making all kinds of excuses for Streveler as well. Throwing more INTs than TDs and having a 7.6 YPA isn't going to win you many football games. The only qualified starter that his YPA is better than is MBT and... yeah

Ottawa RedBlacks @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers GDT
Is this math mathing? 2025 Guide Book has 15 Field Goals made past 57 yards up to 2025, and then 16 at 57. So 31 made up to this year. I know Maltos and Castillo are the only ones to hit from that this year, but if there are 25 missed and you hit at 61% that says you should have 39 makes.... that is for all of CFL History... if you are talking JUST SINCE 2005... I only count 5 > 57 in the guide book, and then in the 57 bucket most of those guys haven't played since 2005 anyways. It would be interesting to see the context of some of those kicks as well, because I feel as though when you are kicking a 57 yard field goal, the other team might not be inclined to try to house it.... the example everyone here is probably familiar with is the 2016 West Semi Final when O'Shea tried to get Medlock to hit a 61 yarder, but he came up short and the Lions just downed it to run down the clock. So small sample bias aside... you need to apply a similar criteria to the TD drive one you used, so its what percent of field goals from 57+ yards are returned for a TD, with >30 seconds (we'll use this as the time limit the victory formation could be used for) on the clock and the other team tied or down any number of points

Ottawa RedBlacks @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers GDT
I think he only played in 15 last year. He picked up an ankle injury week 16 against Montreal and didn't play weeks 17 and 18.. Got a concussion Week 5 against the Bombers but played the next week. He had a foot injury against the Riders in week 10 and then missed week 11 before playing against the Lions week 12. So in a season and a half as a starter hes: Exited a game due to a concussion (Week 5 2024) Exited a game due to a foot injury and missed a game (Week 10 and Week 11 2024) Exited a game due to an ankle injury and missed 2 extra games (Week 16 through Week 19 2024) Got injured at the end of a game and then missed 3 games with a hip injury (Week 1 through Week 4 2025) Exited a game due to a concussion (Week 7 2025) Exited a game due to a knee injury (Week 11 2025) So out of 28 possible games, by my count he's only played 17 complete games.

2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season
Ah that makes sense because it is against the Bombers. I was thinking they would keep the Road/Home split at 9, but because they are playing the Bombers they essentially have 10 home games. Would have been neat to see the Argos play another team.

I will absolutely try to make it to those games. I wonder if they will do a deal for Season Ticket Holders
