  1. Not really referencing the Bible friend; a lot of schools do not allow that kind of thing, especially here in the Southern US due to how much of a heated thing it is and not wanting to push religion on to kids if you will. I'm a Christian myself, not a hardcore one by any means mind, but I can see why people would want their kids to choose their own religious affiliation if you will rather than have it be forced upon them. The main books I am talking about are books like Catch-22 and essentially anything by Vonnegut lol, etc. Children need to understand about other places, perspectives, etc.
  2. I think it is inevitable that they will relocate to Houston; really only feasible location for them imo. Huge city with lots of potential to build a big fanbase and revenue streams. I am surprised they have lasted this long in Arizona tbh; even when they were decent, still had no fans.
  3. I was there until the final whistle. Proud of my fellow Canes fans who never stopped yelling and cheering; we were all emotionally drained. Such a shame could not find the winner. I think if we lose game 2, could be all she wrote.
  4. I agree. A lot of books that are deemed not appropriate for schools really are due to the lessons they contain within them of a moral nature.
  5. I'd enroll her in 'Don't be a dumb *****' seminar...but civics could work also.
  6. Great thread! My previous career was as a librarian so obviously I love to read lol. My favorite genre is crime fiction and sports biographies, but every so often read fantasy. Not that big on sci-fi. My favorite authors: James Lee Burke Ian Rankin Peter Lovesey Mike Lupica Joe Abercrombie Currently reading CJ Box and his newest novel, 'Storm Watch'. On deck if you will is 'Shoe Dog', Phil Knight's(Founder of Nike) memoir.
  7. I just can't get excited about anything Walking Dead related anymore; gotten so predictable.
  8. Will be heading to Raleigh for Game 1 when it is confirmed. Let's go Canes!
  9. Always the best time of the season this! Well and the first game week lol. Think we have some good rookies here and eager to see what they can all do moving forward. Been off the forum for a bit due to some pretty bad things that went on in my life: Bad wreck, loss of employment, etc but am in a better place now and looking forward to a new season of Bomber football. Hope everyone here has been doing alright.👍
  10. Not even top 5 of bad announcer's I've heard in my time.
  11. Yeah the books are awesome. Just to go with your username, I am a huge Ian Rankin fan also; new Rebus book out this fall😀One of the best characters in crime fiction for sure. If you like Rankin, Mark Billingham's Thorne series is great also and Peter Lovesey's Diamond series.
  12. Don't know if ya'll have seen it friends but I highly recommend Bosch on Amazon. I just finished it and am going to start Bosch:Legacy here in a few hours.
  13. Well I suppose a win is a win but let's be honest here: Helped tremendously by boneheaded penalties by Ottawa. Simply have to be more efficient on offense moving forward and that starts next Friday againt the Tiger Cats.
  14. Need to get some pressure, Masoli having all day back there.
  15. How mediocre we have played I actually feel pretty good being only 2 down. Hopefully we can take care of business in the second half.
  16. Let's finish the half off with some noise boys.
  17. Still owe money to one course for breaking one of their windows😆
  18. Hell we drink when we go and play golf!😄
  19. Yes looking forward to it! Having some friends over to watch their first ever CFL game and they will be bringing the alcohol and pizza lol. Can't wait!
  20. Oh I agree with you pal, unfortunately. Politicians here in the US are as crooked as they come, and even though they are supposed to represent the people most of them are just stuck up their own asses to really come up and pass any viable legislation for the betterment of Americans. As you say, us general citizens pretty much have our hands tied. We can protest for change and whatever else similar, but at the end of the day those in charge will do whats in their best interests. When I was in High School and college I felt way more pride in my country than I do now. All I can do is hope that things change sooner rather than later. What else is there to do?
  21. I hope for yall's sake Trotz does take the job. Jets have a good fanbase and a solid core of players, just need the right man in charge.
