The Coaches Show is what it is. If you’re looking for week-to-week stuff it’s pretty awful. Just for balance, cause I feel like I’ve been crapping on a lot lately, and I really do love the Bombers- I have heard MOS on there tell a couple Ron Lancaster stories that had me legit lol. One about Lancaster smoking in the clubhouse all the time, and it making Orlando Steinhauer freak out. It’s better when callers ask him questions about his playing career, or old CFL history stuff. Guy’s choices have been driving us nuts lately, but he does truly love the game.

To me a cooked Neufeld is still better than a center that simply isn’t good enough to be playing pro football. Not that either should be anything more than backups at this point. Ideally Eli and Wallace in and Kolo/Neufeld out. I’ll eat my own hat if that actually happens with this coaching staff though.

The winning formula to me was draft OL and bring in top level FAs every year. We stopped doing the former for whatever reason and Collaros contract, and maybe a couple others doesn’t allow us to do the latter. Imagine Browns deal instead of Zach’s. This past off season, just for a hypothetical, we’d probably see BOLO and/or Bailey back, either Grant, or could have snagged Jovon Leake, and probably a Pete Robinson or a Malik Carney to replace Jeffcoat. You can’t do anything paying 600k to one player in the CFL. Christ, we just saw Mike Reilly’s career get ruined over the same situation just a couple of years ago.

Yeah, it Brady’s out more than a couple of weeks they need to get an American signed. There’s a hundred backs in the states that could come in and offer more in terms of running the ball.

He could be, but I’d argue at this point in his career he has more mobility and quicker decision making to overcome some of that poor oline play. In particular that pick Zach threw over the middle wasn’t because of pressure, he was just telegraphing it. Same with the underthrow that was picked in the endzone against the Als.

not sure how this managed to jump threads… I always thought Wittman was unparalleled. The last 10 or so years of Cuthberts career I feel like he got near that territory. I can’t name another announcer on that level, not in Canada anyway. I always liked Mark Lee after those two, but not even close. TSN always had second rate announcers before Cuthbert jumped from CBC in 05 or whenever.

I agree. He reminds me so much of Joey Styles (wrestling announcer from the 90s)

He’s from Brampton, Onatario. I wouldn’t know one way or the other about hockey these days, I just know he was one of the all time greats for CFL games.

Agree on Gord Miller. Smith is only good behind the desk, he has the delivery of a male Cassie Campbell. Hate him as a PBP guy. I never thought I’d dislike a voice more than Rod Black. Nielson should be doing pro wrestling. For my money Marshall Ferguson is the best PBP guy on TV currently but it’s a very low bar. Lapo should be the #1 colour guy, he’s great at it. Duane Forde is fine. Suitor’s an idiot. DT is fantastic and I selfishly wouldn’t want to lose him but he’d immediately be TSN’s best play-by-play announcer.

Nailed it with this. We have like 10-12 gameday guys under 30 and only 1 player on the whole active roster right now under 25 (Clercius) and 1 on the 6-Game (Garbutt) That’s not sustainable in any way.

Yeah I wouldn’t argue that too hard or anything, given it’s just speculation on my part. Either way I’m hoping they still bring in another body or 2 for the DL. At the very least they need Fayed plus one more (Woods) on the AR. Ideally a third guy to audition as well before Garbutt comes back- this is less likely but I’d really like to see them bring Taylor Upshaw back, you guys who know more convinced me he was better than Rivers at the end of preseason.

I would think it would be more of a matter of the others availability too. If they’re living in the states, some of these dudes just aren’t willing to come back and forth, could have a different opportunity or job outside of football pop up in the interim period. They could also very well have more guys on the way. One would hope anyhow. I’ve disagreed with basically everything they’ve done through camp, I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt on this one move.
