  1. He's shown he can play in the NHL. Yeah, I'll give him that. But he hasn't shown to be an elite goalie. Or that he can carry the load like other goaltenders in the league. For all we know he may ultimately show that he's a career backup.
  2. I remember AC was ready to pack it in after his years in Hamilton. He had lost all his confidence & credits playing behind Tracy Ham as well as Trestman for making him a better qb. He certainly had a great later career while with the Als.
  3. Can Marc Trestman pull Drew Willy off the scrap heap the same way he did Anthony Calvillo? Not a better qb coach to learn the game from as a qb than Trestman. We'll see as the jury is still out on Willy. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2017/05/16/willy-ready-for-whatever-comes-with-argos
  4. That's the same thing just worded differently, IMO. A rookie always gets paid less than a veteran. The Ti Cats want to go younger & cheaper at the SB position so Watt was released.
  5. It's his veteran status. He got paid more because of the number of years he played. The Ti Cat want to go younger & cheaper.
  6. Apparently salary was one of the reasons he was let go in Hamilton.
  7. Hutchison was Helle a couple of years ago. A young goalie with potential. Well....
  8. Who is John Hodge anyway? Is he just a fan who writes a blog & was picked up by 3 Down Nation?
  9. Spencer Watt just came free. he was released by the Ti Cats today.
  10. If triple H & Vince handle Strowman anywhere like they did Seth Rollins he'll be a non factor by the end of his first month back.
  11. Welcome to all new posters. This is a good place. Sit right down, take your shoes off & have a take. Y'all come back now, ya hear??
  12. Down boy, down. ROTFL.
  13. Well, in 2013 the mass migration from Our Bombers to here happened because you & others felt you could provide a better service & product than what was offered. You believed this website would be better. I just happen to think it is & you now have the best Bomber website going. I just made a general comment & if I ruffled some feathers I apologize.
  14. Not crying. I like this place a lot more than where you hang out. And it is a better website. I get my Bomber fix here & talk to posters that I respect & like.
  15. No, it makes you a bully like the arse you already are over there. You behave over here because people wouldn't stand for it & you know it.
  16. North Korea pisses off the Russians as the missile test they had yesterday landed in Russia (I heard) about 75 klm from Vladavistok. Russian defenses on high alert.
  17. Grady Cavness couldn't play in the CFL if he was a player today.
  18. Helmets just had a bit of foam in the shell back then.
  19. I can tell you from experience that Tom McGourran was a pretty good receiver. I played against him & the late former Bomber qb Bud Harden in the mid 80's in the Winnipeg Touch Football League. He caught everything that was thrown to him by Harden. Post corners & quick outs were their bread & butter against me. No matter how I covered McGourran he beat me nearly everytime. If I knocked down or broke up a couple passes then I was lucky that day. Otherwise he & Harden had me for lunch. Pretty frustrating game for me but McGourran & harden were having a good time. I'll say this for Tom. Other than grinning a couple of times he never trashed talk me. He'd say, "Nice try" or "Good effort" if he made a catch & I was close to breaking up the play. Harden worked with my sister in law & I knew him pretty well. After the game he came up to me grinning, shook my hand & said, "Sorry man..."
  20. I was at Grand Beach in 1977 & was throwing the football with my friend. Back then, I was hitting the gym hard & was pretty jacked. I had shoulder length brown hair with a moustache. I was wearing a Blue Bomber home jersey with #5 on it as I had a sunburn. Random guy came up to me & asked if I was Dieter Brock. I frigging loved it.

  22. Absolutely true but hopefully teaching kids the right way to tackle & the improving technology that goes into modern helmets will help cut down the # of head trauma incidents. You still see the odd defensive player deliberately lead with the crown of the helmet which is now illegal. A few years that would have been a legal hit.
  23. Exactly. Seattle Seahawk coaching staff teach the rugby way of tackling. It involves proper positioning prior to the tackle & turning the head away upon contact. Wrap & finish the tackle.
  24. Wait, now let me get this straight. Saying this place is superior than the other Bomber site (which it is) makes me a Rider fan? LOL!
