Game Day Thread- Week Eighteen, GAME 16: Saskatchewan @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers October 13th, 2018
We have a very inefficient offense yet we lead the CFL in points & TDs. It makes no sense. We should be killing teams who blitz us yet we don't.

they blitz & Nichols gets sacked. We have nothing to counteract the blitz.

No hot routes for Nichols so we take a sack to kill a scoring drive. Like WTF why????

Middle Linebacker Phil Minnick. Signed as a rookie out of Iowa State in 1965. He was a CFL Western Conference All Star in 1966 & 1968 as well as an All Canadian in 1967 & 69. When he was healthy, Minnick was one of the most dominant middle linebackers in the CFL. For 4 seasons from 1966 thru 1969 he played at an extremely high level. A severe knee injury in 1970 caused him to miss a good part of that season & all of 1971. Minnick returned to the Bombers in 1972 but moved to outside linebacker as Mickey Doyle had taken over Minnick's MLB spot. He retired after the 1972 season.

No one runs a 2 back system in the CFL. To do that means a receiver comes off the field. The way offenses are set up with the passing game today that would be a detriment & not an advantage. Would I like to see a 2 back set, yes. But that's like wishing the true tight end would come back but it isn't.

Regular Season Bomber News & Discussion
I'm showing my age here but I remember the Bombers starting 1-4 in 1976 & finished 10-6. They went on quite a run as I recall. The fans wanted Dieter Brock's head & for HC Bud Riley to be fired. They finished second in the West & hosted the West Semi Final.

Season not over yet. See, that's the Riders problem. You guys win the Grey Cup in every month except November.

There were fullbacks bigger than guards at the time.

Look at how Reilly struggles without Walker. Mitchell struggles without 4 of his receivers.

Hervey Questions Jennings Work Ethic
I just wish if we put person on ignore & he's quoted that we still can't see it. That would make things better here.

So, if Reilly & Michell ever came to market as FA's, we all can see MOS saying he's happy with Nicholls & wouldn't be interested in pursuing either.

His Mom & Dad live in Montana. I believe in Kalispell. They drive the 800 klm to every Esks home game. If he went to the Lions his parents would have further to go. Be interesting how this plays out. Scary to think what Reilly could do with Burnham & Arceneaux as his receivers.
