  1. Great post. You nailed it 110%. That is why so many qbs struggle with our game. Fans like Skunk can't get seem to get their heads around that. The Canadian game is different than the American game. Fans like Skunk say just do a better job scouting. Unfortunately, now the CFL is cutting back on that as well. With the new leagues signing the best qbs available & the CFL on an austerity kick at the wrong time, don't expect things to be any better in the future.
  2. Yeah, it was but so what? It happened nearly 4 months ago. Time to move on. You think Nichols is the only qb who has made a bad throw or a bad decision? Time to get over it.
  3. I'm not saying anything anymore because as I said to tracker, you guys will choose to believe whatever you choose to believe. You won't listen to any other point of view. There's no point for me discussing it further.
  4. The NHL wouldn't want us to win, though.
  5. Whatever, there's no talking to you. You believe what you choose to believe.
  6. Interesting story. Never heard of it before.
  7. It is a tragedy, isn't it?
  8. Fastest growing city in the US.
  9. I'm glad you acknowledged Matt Nichols had a knee injury. Something his detractors conveniently seem to ignore. Both qbs are under contract next year so Nichols doesn't have to take a pay cut for the Bombers to sign Streveler. They have another season to see if Streveler is the Next One. I do agree that Nichols will have to play better but so will his receivers. We'll see if he can bounce back in 2019.
  10. Every qb throws interceptions. After that game, how many picks did Nichols throw the rest of the season? Yeah, that particular throw was bad but so what? Again, who would you sign to play in Nichols place? Other than Streveler who isn't ready for Prime Time yet? Who, out there on a CFL team is ready & able to come in, replace Nichols & take the Bombers to the Grey Cup & win it? There is no one. Reilly & BLM won't be coming here. Neither is Harris. Who else? Jennings??? LOL. As far as physical reasons, the guy had a severe knee injury & with knee injuries, they take a long time to heal. (Of which I have personal experience). So, I'd say that had a lot to do with Nichol's level of play this season.
  11. Other than Reilly, Mitchell & Harris just who would you rather have as a starter from the other 5 teams than Nichols? Lulay? Glass. Jennings? Coach killer. Collaros? Concussion issues. Bridge. Career backup at best. Ray? Too old. Hopefully retires. McLeod Bethel-Thompson? Ugh. Johnny Manziel? No thanks. Antonip Pipkin? Nope. Vernon Adams? Another career backup. Drew Willy? Been there. Done that. Nichols is better than all of those qbs.
  12. Russell Wilson did the same thing his last game that Nichols did in the Banjo Bowl. The pocket collapsed around him & he tried to throw the ball out of bounds but was hit as he threw. The wounded duck never made it to the sidelines. It was picked off & the DL would have had clear sailing to the end zone but was tackled almost as soon as he caught it by a Seahawk. Wilson is one of the best qbs in the NFL. If it can happen to him then it can happen to Nichols. **** happens sometimes.
  13. Just shows what good mgmt. can do as opposed to bad management. Peter Ciarrelli in Edmonton should be fired. he has made questionable picks & trades since he was hired by the Oilers. One wonders how long the players will play for Hitchcock before they stop performing for him as well.
  14. What about our lottery luck with the Laine pick?
  15. The way Stubler moves around, does he live in his car?
  16. He did the same thing to O'Shea remember? Agreed to come here but signed elsewhere. And he pulled a fast one on Dickenson in 2015 when he left the Stamps in a huff (pardon the pun) because he didn't want to work under the rookie HC. I think Stubler felt Hufnagel should have made him the Stamps HC. Dickenson was going to keep him as his DC but he resigned & joined the Argos as soon as the announcement was made.
  17. Most fans here haven't seen the older player actually play so I'm not surprised.
  18. That was supposed to be a joke.
  19. I think that 1990 defense may have been the best all time for the Bombers.
  20. Hey, no need to say sorry to me. I'm okay with whatever. I just think being outraged at Xmas songs is so far down the list of importance it's laughable. But I was just making a so called "real life" comparison with online bullying as opposed to being upset over a bullied reindeer.
  21. You want to talk about an intimidating safety? Grady Cavness.
  22. Not discounting Casey's efforts as a DB but he was better known as an offensive halfback & returner. He rushed for 2,104 yards from 1950-55. During that time he caught 91 passes for 1,621 yards. He scored 41 touchdowns. A great all around athlete he also returned 147 punts for 1,253 yards & an 8.5 yard average with no touchdowns. He also returned 28 kickoffs for 705 yards, 1 touchdown & a 25.2 return average. Imagine how great he would have been if he was able to play on one side of the ball only? I'm sure the poor guy was sucking wind by the 4th quarter.
  23. My son lives in Seattle. Big football fan but he sure isn't excited about an XFL team there.
  24. We see that all the time. The receiver believes the qb can't get the ball to him so he slows down & then realizes too late that yes indeed, the qb has the arm to have gotten the ball to him so he never should have given up on the pass. You see it at the high school level from inexperienced receivers & unfortunately at the pro level from players that should know better. At the pro level it's more laziness than being wrong about arm strength.
