His style is to throw deep & rely on his receivers to make the big catch but even with Bryan Burnham & Lemar Durant he doesn't have the receivers to make those contested catches. He isn't like Harris or Mitchell who are happy to go on 12 play drives throwing short & medium passes all night long. He is impatient & wants it all on one play.

I always thought Salisbury was wild. Not much of a passer. You had to be shocked with that first half in the 88 Grey Cup when the offense seemed to open it up with some big shots to Murphy downfield. Then in the third quarter the O settled into what it always did which was nearly nothing under Salisbury & the D won it for us in the second half.

Not surprised it's someone with the Riders.

Did you watch Salisbury? He wasn't very good most games. Barely a 50% passer. But he was a "game manager" on a team with an outstanding defense. Same with Burgess who was a journeyman backup mostly. Nichols plays well enough for us to win.

We're in first place. That's all I care. Tom Burgess & Sean Salisbury were no all stars either & Nichols is better than both. Both won Grey Cups.

I'm singling out this post. Why would anyone gives a **** if it's considered quirky? Why do any fans worry about something like that? The NFL still has padded practices with helmets. They work on tackling drills. The CFL has 90% of the practices with no pads & helmets. Very little tackling fundamentals are taught or stressed. Even pros need to practice fundamentals & technique.

He went to Grant Park High School. He started out playing community clubs in town along with other bands. He's a Winnipegger. But he left in the late 60's.

People don't ask for much here. A win isn't a win until Nichols throws for 300 or even 400 yards. I'd love to see Streveler throw for 400. Hell, I'd love to see him complete 4 passes in a row. If we win the GC & Nichols throws for 180 yards do you advocate that we give the championship to other team then because Nichols didn't earn it?

Nichols can't throw for 400, He has to throw for 300. It's really quite simple. That's the rule here & he needs to stick to it.
