CWS isn't a dump. IT's old but then so are a lot of stadiums. The Mexico City stadium was built in 1960. They'd obviously have to do renos at CWS like they're doing on other stadiums. As in, BMO. Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of renos going into the NFL stadiums in the US.

The writing was just so bad. I tried to watch some of the newer Star Wars & just can't get through it. The characters, the plot, the dialogue in comparison to thr first 3 movies in the series from 1977-81 compared to today. The killing of Hans Solo, Luke & Leia floating thru space. With all the different writers, producers, directors, actors, new characters, etc, the entire movie series was lost.

That's why there was a couple of WC qualifying matches against Mexico in Edmonton played in the December 2023 cold & snow & had 52000 fans in the stands. Those damned curious farmers who love soccer, there are nearly two million of them in Edmonton. And another two million farmers in Calgary. Oh & another 105,000 in Red Deer. And another 100,000 northern farmers in Fort MacMurray.

My point is Toronto doesn't deserve to have a WC game. Edmonton would have been a better choice. It was completely a political choice.

Putting SWAT in Friday's former Blue Bloods time slot was the kiss of death for that show. A lot of anger out there for Blue Bloods cancellation & fans took it out on the sacrificial lamb that replaced it. No, baseball reference.

Star Wars has become a British sci fi franchise. Their ideas & styles of sci fi is different what is done here in the US & Canada when it comes to acting & writing. To me, they've strayed away from the vision George Lucas had for Star Wars. Twenty five yars ago, I could have debated this issue with other Star Wars fans here but today I barely know the names of the main characters anymore. I just know that I've watched every Star Wars movie & just can't get excited about it anymore. If a new motion picture comes out I'll probably not watch it.

We don't need to make a big move. No one is trading a superstar anywhere. But that doesn't mean we don't need to make a move.

There should be a 75000 seat soccer stadium in Toronto for international matches like most countries have in one of their cities. If there is no push by govt to build that size of facility than I don't see any way for an NFL team in Toronto to come to a fruition.

Just finished binge watching Boardwalk Empire. Little darker series than The Sopranos. They kill most of the main characters off. I thought the plot twist at the end with Tommy Darmody killing Nucky Thompson was brilliant. The only character I was sad to see him go with his demise was John Harrow, the crook who wore a mask to hide his half blown off face suffered during WW1. His character really grew on me as the series went on. Now watching Billions Season 1. Taking a bit longer to get into it like BE. But I intend to watch it all.

Mexico City has a 72,000 seat stadium. Guadalajara has a 45000 seat stadium. The NFL has 11 NFL stadiums hosting events. Canada has 2 stadiums. BMO & BC Place with a capacity of 52000 seats. They could have used CWS in Edmonton with a capacity of 58000 but decided not to.

The one game I picked that season to drive in from Calgary by myself to come see with my friend who lived in Winnipeg & it was that one.... It wasn't Boltus. It was "Big Chris" Streveler.

They're putting 15000 temporary seats in BMO. Most countries use a world event like the WC to build legacy structures. Our sports infrastructure in this country really sucks. The biggest city in Canada has a stadium currently seating 27,000.
