  1. I also think anyone who makes it onto the field at the pro level in any sport means they aren't failures. They can play. Some obviously better than others.
  2. Great nesws. It's snowing up now. Not down. A little dance .
  3. Just another storm.... Media overreacted as did the weather office.
  4. Not true at all. I could give you names of 20 former CFL players that went into coaching & were successes. The first being Mike O'Shea.
  5. Ploen Clements Collaros Brock Jacobs
  6. In Calgary, all schools remain open even if there are no classes to provide shelter for kids that need it. That sounds the same in Winnipeg. Providing staff can make it in to open the schools. If you can't make it in because of the weather & the transit buses aren't running then just act accordingly. It's not that hard. Having to wait until 6 am sounds reasonable. When I drove a school bus, it was the same for us. We would have to call in to work at 6 am to find out if the school divisions had cancelled classes.
  7. First of all, what does being gay have to do with anything? Two, who cares? https://3downnation.com/2022/04/10/first-openly-gay-cfl-player-michael-sam-joins-elfs-barcelona-dragons-as-coach/
  8. How many times in the past have we seen Environment Canada & the media build blizzards up to be The Almighty only to have them come crashing down & literally nothing?
  9. What's to say what he said wasn't true? We're talking about Randy Ambrosie here.
  10. The ground is frozen. There's nowhere for the melt to go. So, there'll be a flood & most of it will be lost to evaporation. Winnipeg is on a flood plain which is why the soil is so rich & fertile. There's never been an 80 cm snow event in the Red River Valley. I don't expect that to occur.
  11. She was WWE's first real Diva & a babe back in the 90's. Her life has spiralled down after the death her common law husband, wrestler Chris Candido in 1995.
  12. The NFL is screwing with fans on MNF. This won't end well.
  13. People don't like Madani because he reports things fans don't like to hear.
  14. http://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2017/04/1372786310-237x300.jpg Roger Savoie #62. Born in Winnipeg. He played his high school football at Provencher High School & played his junior football with the Winnipeg Rods. Savoie played 14 seasons with the Bombers from 1951-1964. He played in 7 Grey Cup games, winning four. Savoie was a 1962 Western Conference All Star at Offensive Tackle. He was a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall Of Fame.
  15. Yeah, things are much different for this 6th wave. And governments are now keeping statistics secret. They want us to forget.

  18. Not to be forgotten, DT Doug MacIver
  19. I used to fish the Red River when I was a kid. We lived in Riverview so the river was very close. One time, I caught a 6 or 7 lb Silver Bass. I was so proud & I wanted my dad to see it. I thought he'd want to smoke or fry it up. He was heavily into fishing. He took one look at that fish & buried it on the spot in our garden. He wanted no part of any fish caught in the Red River.
  20. Yes, you know who. But others have worn that number with pride & distinction. If I was a lineman that would be the number I'd want.
  21. Thanks for posting. The number 64 is a hum dinger, let me tell you!!
  22. We need a new football stadium desperately but the billionaire who owns the Flames & Stamps (Murray Edwards) along with the other minority owners won't spend a cent of their cash to build one. I don't think I've ever seen ownership that just doesn't care about the Stamps or their fans. The City of Calgary doesn't care either. It's really a sad situation.
  23. Duke played at Alabama & came into the CFL as a rookie with the Riders in 1970. He then played one season with the Lions in 1971. He played 4 seasons for the Bombers from 1972-75. Never missed a game.
