Yeah, agreed. He blew it. No doubt about that. -

I think he was going thru a rough period in his life. Under lots of pressure as the Bomber HC made it worse & he snapped. I think we need to walk in another man's shoes before we judge others & show a little compassion. -
Yes, as carrying a gun in public is just asking for trouble. As we see in what Kyle Rittenham did. I haven't paid much attention to the trial but I also believe he'll get off. Bringing a gun to a riot & people died? There should be no surpise that happened.

Kelly had that legendary post game interview with Bob & Mitch Zalnasky where he was downright nasty to them both after a loss in Montreal. That was the beginning of the end for Mike Kelly. If a coach is angry at Bob Irving then it's time to go as Bob will find positives even in a Bomber loss. Then the rudeness to callers Kelly would show on The Coach's Show to the point they stopped having callers talking to him. Yeah, most questions from fans are stupid but as the face of the team Kelly never showed any decorum & spit venom whenever he could. He sure wore out his welcome in just one season. -
I'll never forget about 16 years ago, my son & I were driving back to Calgary from Portland & we stopped for gas in C'ouer D'Alene, Idaho for gas & munchies. We went inside to pay for all of it with my then 15 year old son. There was a guy in his 20's with a holstered gun on his waist. Idaho is a gun carry State. He was just walking around the store with a smirk letting us all know he was locked & loaded. Almost like he was daring someone to start something with him. I was standing directly behind him at the cashier. The one problem with an attitude like that is if he wants trouble he'll find trouble. He'll meet someone who'll have no hesitation to use his weapon against him first.

In Riverview we used to have this big oak tree at the end of the property close to the backlane. My Dad told me there were three or 4 young oak trees growing together before he sodded the back yard in 1950 after my parents bought our house brand new. He kept one & it grew up to be this beautiful tree just perfect in every way symetrically. My Dad sold our house in 1995. First thing the new owners did was cut that tree down. I was sad when I saw it had been removed as it was still growing & healthy.

Getting sick is a shitty experience.

Carol McGibney was his grand daughter, I believe. She lived with them & went to Churchill High School but was at least 2-3 years behind me. I think his first name was Doug. He was nearly or was a senior when I was a teenager in the early 70's so I always called him Mister out of respect. He was a great guy. I'd like to talk to you more so please PM me.

For the amount of advertising revenue Bell Media (TSN) pulls in for CFL games & teams just get $5.5 million each all the bullshit with the (lack of) quality broadcasts & the god damned exclusive rights they have, it just isn't worth for what the CFL gets back. -
Those little saplings in the mid 1960's are now huge stately Elm trees providing a canopy all the way down the streets in my old neighbourhood.

Yep. He was my neighbour across the street, He was a passionate Bomber fan who was there from the beginning, The 1935 Grey Cup, Osborne Stadium, Reg Threlfall, Fritz Hanson, Jeff Nicklin, Jack Jacobs, D i c k Huffman, Bud Grant, Leo Lewis, Ken Ploen, Buddy Tinsley... all kinds of stories about Osborne Stadium & Grey Cups. The thing I remember about Mr. McGibney was his passion & love for the Blue Bombers. How his eyes lit up whenever he talked about them. He helped make me the fan I am today. I became interested in Blue Bomber & CFL history because of him. He died at least 40 years ago & I still miss our chats.

I grew up in Riverview in the South End. Whenever I get back to Winnipeg with my wife when she wants to spend a little time doing things on her own like shopping with her mother, I always take a drive past my house in the old neighbourhood & reminisce in my mind thinking how lucky I was to have lived there. I can't get over how BIG the trees on the boulevard on my street are compared to when I grew up.

He got into Dave Dickenson's doghouse. He was a healthy scratch a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry but for a guy who says he's travelled a lot you really have to get out more & visit otrher cities. I'd hardly call life in Winnipeg a rat race. I also wouldn't say Winnipeg's population is exploding. The city itself won't reach a million people until at least 2040. There are no freeways so people don't zip thru the city at 100 kph like other places. Condos & suburbs with real estate prices increasing. You mean like Vancouver & Toronto? C'mon man. What projects? Do you have the inside scoop? The US healthcare system. People who need help are left out as they can't pay. Most can't hold a job or afford a place to live & become homeless. I also read that other cities in the US actually round up their homeless, Then take them to San Fran & then dump them on the street & leave them.

Thanks to the damned CFL agreement with TSN he won't call the Grey Cup for the Bombers if they make it. What a bunch of ****. -
The older parts of Edmonton sure remind me of Winnipeg in a lot of ways. The older houses, trees & just the way it's laid out.

Twenty nine years says, "We deserve it. We deserve it. We deserve it. WE DESERVE IT."

Been to San Fran a number of times. The City By The Bay. Love it there but it's bloody expensive to live there.

Walby was an absolute beast!!

The pbp for the Stamps Mark Stephen as well as Danny Austin who covers the team for the Calgary Herald & Sun both say it was salary related. Not Covid related due to a lack of vaccinations. They both said Huff was fully vaccinated. I just think Dickenson was unhappy with him. Perhaps he was dogging it at practice. Apparently, the decision to release Huff was all Dickenson's. I know that Huff was in his doghouse.

I'm okay with what you said. No worries.

That was just a blip. So insignificant it's not worth remembering. The Elks & RedBlacks are our 2013 nightmare this season.

I suspect when we lost to the Argos in August.

She was getting a little pissy a week ago making the statement to the panel to the effect that she's not being included in the discussion. Why? She's the host. Not the expert. Yeah, I don't hate her as a host but I just think she tries to joke around too much. The panel loses focus.

No, from the Internet. It is very dramatic. You can see the anger in Joe Kapp while Mosca looks subdued seemingly knowing Kapp isn't wrong.
