The 2023 Wildcard Standings Thread
The climate in Edmonton is just about the same as it is in Winnipeg. Maybe Winnipeg's a bit colder in winter but does five degrees celsius make a difference when it's minus 20??? I can tell you that the winter doesn't start or end much differently in both cities. There are no mountains near Edmonton like Calgary has or lakes nearby like Winnipeg. I also remember my parents back in the 80's going to visit my sister & her family in Edmonton. Usually they'd drive up in late May or early June. My Dad would come back always complaining about the rainy, cold weather in Edmonton compared to Winnipeg. He hated Edmonton.

just watching the XFL for the first time.... san Antonio @ Arlington. Nice stadium but only 10,000 in attendance. The football is awful because the qbs are brutal.

The 2023 Wildcard Standings Thread
One of the problems as I see it is we keep drafting Americans, Euros & players from down east in Quebec. How many Western Hockey League players have we drafted? Guys that at least were born in Western Canada, know & understand this part of the country? Unless you're a grinding third line centre from Wisconsin or Minnesota you don't want to play in Winnipeg. Look at Johnny Gaudreau & Tkachuk in Calgary they didn't want to play there either. Calgary where the economy is finally coming back, the Rockies & the winter climate is better than a lot of US cities. When they became UFA's away they went. So, it's not just Winnipeg. What's making Edmonton a place for more free agents than Winnipeg? McDavid & Draisaital. It's not the climate or city.

Like we said Scheifle is a goal scorer. Lowry is not.

The Jets organization is so ****** up thanks to our owner & GM it's just sad. I used to be a real fan. Admit I don't know as much about hockey as football but I'd get excited the season was on. Now, I just don't give a damn as nothing ever changes. Nothing. We do the same thing every year that fails. And the GM who does & should have hit the road two years ago gets rewarded with a new contract.

True but who is the real goal scorer here, it's not Lowry. Earlier this season, he had a drought as well. Players go through that. You can't keep a 40 goal scorer on the bench or off the first PP unit.

The guy has 38 goals. Lowry has 11 goals, that's why.

I never sensed they loved Mourtada. He had a strong leg & that was about it. Kept around as insurance only. He was pretty much MOTR as a kicker. Liegghio is an excellent punter. that's where I eventually see him as a CFL player long term. Unless Liegghio can get a lot tougher mentally & just put the misses behind him. Which seems to be the root of his problem. It's not the physical aspect of his game.

But... there is... a combine.

He's a good player. I think he would start here. He's young. Just 24.

I see we have a few mental health advocates who constantly tell us not to mock pro athletes as it's cruel doing the mocking here. Nice. Well done, fellas. Maybe you should look in a mirror before lecturing others. Let's face it, KSB would be a starter on every team in the CFL. I'm sure as he gets more experience his all around game will improve. He's only 24. Agreed. Demski is a versatile player who can also be a running back or slot. As well as return punts & kicks. KSB is a pure receiver.

Two national security agencies confirmed this story according to Global. That this meeting was held in secrecy. It also says that the PMO only became aware of the conversation a couple of days ago. Dong admitted to having a conversation with Chinese Consul General Han. Didn't admit it was about the two Michaels. Dong should be in jail awaiting trial.

That is the worst answer ever. You hate Fajardo & mock him because he was a Rider. That's it. If Evans had played for Saskatchewan then he'd be on your Hit List & not Fajardo.

2023 CFL Draft Discussion
Bottom line, is the league thriving the way it is now? The CFL isn't even streaming the Combine. So yeah, let's just keep doing what isn't working.

Libertarians say, feel free to jump out of an airplane with a parachute. That's your choice & libertarians will support your right to do that. Or climb that mountain peak in Japer National Park. But if your chute gets tangled on the way down & you break your back on impact or you trip & fall 500 feet down the mountain breaking both legs then you should pay for the cost of your rescue, healthcare, physio & recovery. It's not our problem, Libertarians will say. It's yours because you decided to do it. I never understood or liked Libertarian Conservativism.

A sitting Liberal MP telling the Chinese to keep two Canadians in jail in China so it doesn't help the Conservatives politically is a valid comparison??? WTH? Both parties have evil & corrupt people working for them. That was my point.
