  1. Mike, realistically just who did he have playing in front of Bighill & Wilson stopping the run? We had no pressure from the interior of the DL on opposition qbs nor did we have a true gap run stopper like we did in 2021. Biggie had his pass responsibilities & then had to step up to also stop the run. The guy was gassed & beat up by mid season. We didn't have Steve Richardson to take care of things in 2022. He caused a lot of havoc inside & with Jeffcoat & Jefferson, OLs had real problems blocking all 3. I was hoping we'd address ou r biggest weakness on the team in free agency but we haven't so far. It's no coincidence there was a lot of injuries & sub par play at the linebacker & secondary positions. With no interior pass rush & the ability to stop the run the back end of any defense suffers. Give it a rest. You just suck the life out of this place.
  2. The guy was cruising to a 1500 yard season until he got hurt & missed 9 freaking games with an injury we still know nothing about. What a waste of money Ellingson was. But we keep signing these 33 year old plus receivers & we're surprised when they can't play.
  3. Getting this guy back is a great thing.
  4. He's ust sucking up to the fanbase, Bluto.
  5. I agree. We have a guy in Bailey still relatively young at 29 who always plays. Agudosi is now also 29 years old & hasn't established himself yet as a starter. To me, it's a no brainer . I'd keep Bailey.
  6. That article... by Paul Friesen. Why is it Winnipeg's fault if the ownership is underfunded & don't have the money to build a proper arena? Sell the team to other investors who will get a building an arena done. If they move the team from a market of 750,000 to Wenatchee, WA with a population of 35,000 that's on ownership. Not the City of Winnipeg. Why can't they play at Canada Life Centre like the Hitmen do in Calgary? Maybe True North should buy them.
  7. It makes no sense to me at all. The guy is a baller thru & thru. Tough & physical. He's willing to do whatever he needs to do on every play to win. I really want the gjy back.
  8. Bailey is just 29 & has a team friendly contract. He's a mucker & a great blocker. He does his job & is effective doing it but doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's also the heart & soul of our receiving corps. He also never misses any games. Something that Greg Ellingson & other receivers couldn't say. He won't be making $200,000 as a receiver with a new contract. I'll miss the guy if he signs elsewhere. I'd be happy if he came back.
  9. It's always been like this. It's a sin to even say that other teams have good players & loyal fans like we do.
  10. Lambasted you??? Lol, Sure, okay. Whatever you say. You were right. I was wrong. Enjoy your 3 seconds.
  11. Whatever. You need that much to feed your ego or are you just fragile? I'm glad I was wrong. So, he has every right to be here. The guy's no troll.
  12. Bluto was on the old forum & as I remember he encouraged a lot of us to join this forum when it first opened. I remember he told me about MBB. He's the reason I joined so I don't feel the way you do about him.
  13. What do you want me to say?? "Oh damn, they didn't fold the team???" Be glad they did what they did. In 2019, it cost the Bombers & every other CFL team a half millionv each. How many teams can afford that?
  14. Eleven hours to actual free agency. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. This is where TSN should have a panel including Farhan Lalji & Dave Naylor following the signings but that would make too much sense.
  15. I agree with you but I don't make the rules. Teams can release players as the contracts aren't guaranteed. Teams always have had the one up on players when it comes to contracts. However, things are much better than it was 40 years ago. There was little player movement back then. Players had to play an option year after their contracts expired for 2/3 of the value of the deal. Supposedly, it was to give time for both sides to work out a new deal once the old one expired. So, as far as Dominique Rhymes goes he has way more freedom than a receiver like Jim Young did back in the day. A year from now Rhymes can cash in if he has another season like he did last year. If Young had one year left on his contract, he'd have to wait 3 seasons to be able to get a raise. He'd have to finish off his deal then take a one third pay cut under his option year with no free agency as teams seldom signed free agents. Only after his option year could Young play elsewhere & get paid.
  16. Nah, worst moment was Terry Bradshaw telling Andy Reid to "waddle over here". He just didn't look happy doing the interviews. And when he got back to the panel, he looked distracted. He wasn't smiling at all. This is coming from a longtime Bradshaw fan but it might be time to retire. In Bradshaw's defense, he does suffer from depression & he also beat two different kinds of cancer this past year. It's been a tough past 12 months for the guy.
  17. That's the only reason he signed there. O'Day overpaid. Just like Duke Williams, The money he spent on that useless piece of trash receiver could have been spent on an OL. Same now with Johnson, instead of upgrading his OL he spent $$$ on an overpaid aging DL. O'Day hasn't even re-signed the immortal Dan Clark.
  18. Anyone see the skinny Colonel Sanders making chicken today? Like WTF?? Is KFC now saying their chicken is healthy & can make you lose weight like Subway did 15 years ago? is that an older Joel fresh out of jail & in makeup doing a new gig??
  19. Surprised at the lack of respect the Fox broadcast showed the Chiefs with everyone picking the Eagles. One helluva game for those who think the NFL is boring. It was all offense.
  20. He signed a contract. Honour it. he's probably a free agent next season & would cash in then.
  21. I have no sympathy for that team. From Rourke to Rhymes it's just a Me First team. A week into free agency including the tampering window just who will sign him for $260-300,000? The Riders? Good, Then let him go there & be in an absolute wasteland.
  22. Pizza Hut pizzas are so greasy you can floor surf with them. Fonzie & Elvis could comb their hair with them.
  23. All people care about are the Flames. That's it.
  24. Yeah, same. I'd rather see sold out stadiums then half empty ones. More fun when we beat other teams in their own house. I'm also tired of seeing empty seats & no atmosphere in the stadiums the Bombers play in. There's a real disconnection between the team & the fans in Calgary. It started once Flames owner Murray Edwards (Calgary Sports & Entertainment Corporation) bought the team
  25. The term greatest can mean many things to many people. It's hard to define who is the greatest. Some people would automatically say a sports star. Othere would say a politician. Others would say a musician, doctor, lawyer or actor. So, it can't be just one name or someone from just a single profession. Also, are you a Winnipegger if you were born here but left as a kid & all accomplishments he/she was made somewhere else? Myself, I'd probably say Duff Roblin, the former Premier of Manitoba who had the foresight to come up with the Red River Floodway which has protected Winnipeg from devastating floods since 1968. The house in Riverview where I grew up in was flooded out in 1950 just a few months after they bought it. It was before I was born but our family had some stories about that flood & where they went to stay, Except for my dad who didn't go as he was worried about his Auto Body business that used to be on Marion Street beside the Norwood Hotel. Winnipeg almost had another flood as bad or worse as the 1950 flood in 1966 when we had a ton of snow & a late spring. A fast snow melt & a rainy spring mde the Red River come up again. I remember the city putting up tons of sandbags on Churchill Drive. The River spilled its banks but it only flooded low lying areas. That just made the floodway such a relief when it opened. Interesting that my son's father in law is a recently retired civil engineer who specialized in flood mitigation with the US Army Corps of Engineers. He studied the floodway in university at Washington State back in the 70's & was sent to New Orleans to repair & build up the levies after Hurricane Katrina. He told me that they should have built a floodway like we have in Winnipeg to carry high water around New Orleans instead of levies. He also felt the same way about Grand Forks, ND which has been flooded out as well more than once. He thinks our floodway is simply amazing. Just for building the floodway makes Roblin the greatest Winnipegger ever.
