  1. For sure. But its not just that, our use of DIs and forgetting harris for extended periods of time is a problem too.
  2. whens that keilbasa coming off the slicer!
  3. I wouldnt call the group of wrs we had a dogs breakfast. One of our better wr cores in the past fist full of years. Now the offensive system id call that a dogs breakfast. All those short passes also gives us a high floor and low ceiling on our WRs. Nichols certainly threw a bunch of passes that could and should have been picked. he also had a couple picks thanks to wrs. Our offense cant toss balls at defenders, our wrs cant volleyball passes to defenders, and it cant disappear for a half of football at a time this year. Nichols deserves as much blame for all that as he does credit for winning last year. If our offense played every down like the 4th quarter / last half of the 4th quarter we might have one of the best offenses in the league. If we played like most of our 2nd/3rd quarters wed be in trouble and lots of it. Being soo conservative in our passing attack doesnt leave us a big margin for error. Especially if we dont set the world on fire with all the turn overs again from our D.
  4. Nailed it.

I imagine they will feed him a series of one and doners culminating in a cheick kongo re match. His wrestling is really an incredible skill. But he went full johny hendricks. The amount of potential this guy has wasted and type of bad fighter meme he has become is sickening. The last time he was in shape was in college. Id much rather have seen bellator go around and over pay young guys like gaethje then re circulate old trash. They seem to be trying to do both, which I gotta credit them for atleast trying. Bellator has more rational fight match ups. (aside from money reasons) Which is soo sad. In other news, GSP announced his UFC return being pushed back is due to eye injuries. If his come back never happens i wont be sad. I love the guy and what he has done for the sport and the sport in canada. I dont want to see him get BJ penn'd. Germaine de Randamie is doing a full on floyd mayweather trying to run from cybro. Said she would rather get stripped then fight her. Cmon man, if you go into that division you have to know you are gonna go back down, leave the ufc, or fight her. I hate this type of running from the best contender junk. Paper champions refusing to fight the best challenger crippled boxing for me. They need to straighten out match making in the UFC. More then they need to deal with shotty rules and commissions. NYSAC has changed rules to no prevent cormier like cheating. Even though they had them in place to begin with and just slept on it. And the UFC signed gokhan saki. Its a bit of a freak show move, but my kind of freakshow move. Itll be interesting to see what weight division he fights in. Down 20 ish to LHW makes the most sense imop. Though HW is pretty soft. And fights with some of the bottom of the top 10 guys, the has been strikers would be fun to watch. Hope he is working none stop on his take down D.
  6. malcolm bell another one to the list of never was'. Austin apodaca. The next savior. Im sure the riders will swoop in and grab bell any minute now and trumpet him as the next great qb in the cfl.
  7. I think thats a great point. Our team does things their own way. They've stuck to the systems, and player mold to a T. A lot of things can result in an early departure from camp. From both a player and a team stand point. I do like that we are quick to make decisions when a guy isnt what they look for. Over this regime of management we've seen them bring in and ship out qbs at a very quick pace. Makes me think they are looking for one thing above all else and if a the guy lacks that hes out. Could be a mentality thing. The mos guy work ethic, drive, love of the game, reserved outwardly fiery in side. Or could be accuracy, or maybe its more along the lines of the guys that didnt make it just didnt pick up the changes to the game and offense quick enough. They may not want a guy to sit on the side lines / PR for a year to just start to grasp the basics. Under most regimes a few guys we have brought in and sent out in short order would have sat around at least a year to see if they could put it together. Maybe some thing for one of the early coaches shows.
  8. My favorite is a few games a year or so he would pretend to pull up lame and hold him hammy wait for the db to move on and break down field.

Roy big fat soup can nelson has signed with bellator. 3-7 in his last 10 9-10 in his ufc career. Glad hes gone.
  10. mmm i thought that was goosen.
  11. It was a 2 year deal, and we all thought he was coming up on FA. But walters said in an interview mid way through last year and suhk had signed an extension. Dont think it was announced before that at all. Dont know if it ever came out how long hes extended. But it was a huge sigh of relief and win for us.
  12. I think the prototype for NFL qbs is 90% for first round or maybe top 2 round qbs. After that its drew brees territory. The top Qbs get picked to pieces because of the staggering value invested in a first round pick. After that I think it opens up a lot. After the draft, when you talk about UDFAs, and free agents in general its pretty lose requirements. Tons of guys get brought in to hold clip boards, run scout team packages, and be extra arms in camp. UDFA is the hail mary range when AFL, CFL, career TCF/PR guys and any one with a pulse gets a look. I think its bigger that you arent too old. Besides, with a young QB if they are getting looks down south then they have done some thing here. So any time that happens its generally been good for us. Save for some of the TCF/PR for life guys like pat barnes.
  13. still worlds better then pederson or friesen. Not much of a measuring stick though. Its like getting better mileage then a tank pulling another tank. I love the old ritchie-isms
  14. Im picking seastrunk to be the new tony ortiz. First team all TC star, pre season stud, but a guy with out much of a chance at RB. Could be roberson too. This is hands down the most talented group of RBs ive ever seen us have. Roberson, seastrunk, and flanders, on top of harris? (I like what normand can do a lot too) With our ol and ol depth? For my money its the position to watch for sheer entertainment value in camp. Got knox winning the MLB job. But I think Hurl has an out side chance to start / play as many reps as any one at MLB this year. Gonna say ekakitie and jake the snake start out close to even splitting time at DT with ekakitie quickly earning more of the reps while jake takes more back as he hits the rookie wall late in the year. Lefevour winning the no2 spot with apodaca winning the development spot. First big cut? neufeld.
  15. with the low activity for mma, and blue jays threads Id say their own threads in general is fine. my 2c
  16. I think its a shoe in that lefevour, davis, and nichols are our active qbs. The rooks are gonna be in a scrap to be the development guy, with a possibility of both being cut. Either rook becoming as high as QB 3 out of camp sans injuries is probably the longest shot of camp.
  17. Less shedding blocks more hes too happy to settle for locking horns with a guard / centre and trying to bull rush. If you are one dimensional as a pass rusher you will struggle a lot. A lot of positions have nuances that coaching can improve a lot. The linemen more then any other though imop. We have a ton of high end young talent on both sides of the line. Im sure both will be a huge focus. I hope howard is up to the task.
  18. I hate baseball fights soo much. Same with basketball. Every one acts like kids and thinks they are UFC. The bat flip stuff is stupid too. Cant count how many times i saw david ortiz do the same. Dont like it? Dont let em hit a homer. Jays have called up Anthony alford. The jays no #3 rank prospect and back end of the top 100 in baseball. He split time between football and baseball, fought injuries and didnt have a great year last year. Hes crushing so far early in this season but hes soo raw. I hate seeing a guy like him rushed up from AA. Hes very athletic, hits well, and is showing projectable pop in his bat. Plus hes a terror on the bases. Suchs pompey is hurt this would be a good spot for him to get another look.
  19. Top 5 in a 9 team league where 7 teams make the play offs. + completions in the red zone that still lead to field goal drives isnt success in the red zone. Our offense loves 8 yard passes on 2nd and 10 / 2nd and goal from the 10 etc. We dont do great red zone scheming. PA fades, iso in and outs, rub routes, shovel pass etc. We kicked a ton of fgs last year including lots of short ones. The problem wasnt just red zone production. It was long periods of time where our offense was nearly none existent. Wed stop running the ball for entire quarters, our first drives are constantly weak despite it being the best planned drive of the game.
  20. Must be close to tc, richards getting soo much talk time. Dont think hes much of a factor or will be. Certainly not worth soo much concern I like the lawrence virgil signing. Big super strong athletic DT that makes plays in the back field.
  21. Same was once true of jade. Never doubt our ability to find a scapegoat!
  22. except for the 3 years he flirted with 6k before trestman. Yes, he was in bad shape in his career going to MTL. but in that era trestman was in the nfl. he didnt come to the cfl till 2007. what does he have to do with the time when AC first went to the als?
  23. How did he pull ac off the heap? he joined in 07, ac threw for 3600 17-8. in 06 4700/20. The three years before that 5500+ 6k+ 5800+ with 37/34/31. The don in 02 and dave ritchie before him would be far more the guys who pulled him off the heap.
  24. Basketball has actually made nearly as extensive a use of analytics as baseball has. And the NFL was using them before it was common in baseball. It hasnt developed as far in the NFL, but they break down 1000s of categories of raw stats. WR completion percentages, QB passing % zones, all kinds of em. Its a nerd world we live in.
