If im the riders (gross) after watching how the D played last year, and knowing collaros history I would spend elite money on harris if thats what it takes. Failing that, id bring back collaros, look to bring in some one like jennings and trade for some one like MBT or better. 21 games from week 1 to the grey cup. If you cant expect your qb to play atleast 16 to 17 you need a new qb. You just cant spot 4-5 games to another team at minimum and expect to contend. The most collaros has played is 14. Over the past 6 seasons, hes averaged 12 games a year. 12/21 even 12/18 is tough to make the play offs with in the west. Little on contend.

No doubt. A lot of guys are like that, and its odd for QBs. Some need to get hit before they get their head into it 100% (damon allen), all kinds of issues and ways to flip that switch.

Yup. Reasonable to assume/hope that the early misses where from rust. Probably should have gotten more reps in pre season.

Was it 2 or 3? I want to say he blew out one knee twice and the other knee once. Either way, forget armchair qb that guy was a wheel chair qb when he arrived. The rider fans have been seething and calling for blood and it has gotten to the point that its kind of softening the blow of how dirty he is as a player. Hes been cruising for a bruising for a long time. If this ended up being his last season in the cfl, i wouldnt be disappointing or surprised. The refs are going to be watching him close and calling things a lot tighter with him now. When you operate on the edge, you can go belly up in a hurry.

A new year means a new crop of talent as well. Some thing will certainly give with the OL in the next year. While im sure we will end up cutting some one who has a solid career else where, having that pressure cooker solidify our OL is a good thing.

I think week 3 will be a good guide for that. The moes offense has weapons a plenty. But I dont think that D can contain our O. Especially with Mathews likely back. The week following the bye has been pretty rough on us. If we can limit the damage of the moes offense and come out of a bye week well its a great sign.

Only time will tell. On one hand the interior is young, athletic and has great up side. On the other, they played a bad dl. But it does give you hope.

😆 You can argue underrated, and that he contributes to a unit that is more then the sum of its parts etc etc but one of the best guards? Like what top 20? Its more likely hes never been the best guard on the team then one of the better guards in the league....

Yeah one of the fastest Wils in the league, former big time track guy. Showed exception quickness, speed and strength before he got hurt. He was having a real coming out party hope its nothing serious.

Probably as soon as he gets healthy 🤣 We did play one of the worst DLs and front 7s in the league. But If they maintain that level of play for a few weeks I wouldnt break up the starters. Neuf could be the 6th OL though then Desjarlais would have to be our 1 inactive each game, and mcgloster would go to the PR. Idk that Neufeld has a ton of value in a trade, though wait for a few OL injuries around the league and im sure some one would over pay for one of the spare NI OL be it neufeld, or desjarlais.

Seems like the plan was to use derek jones as the dime, hense starting hecht as well as him rotating with hecht. Which worked out great. And as jpan commented, when kyrie went down we saw a lot more of that set which worked great. A big reason why we are able to pull that off as well is Hallet but especially Exume. Exume may well end up being the steal of the draft. If Kyrie is down for any length of time though I think we need to look hard at bringing in an imp Lber. Though Kongbo is listed as a Lber on the roster. Its possible if he gets healthy he could fill a tweener role.

The outcome of injuries is never factored into penalties and shouldn't be. 25 yard penalty and two game suspension is enough for that hit. Remember when khari Jones career was ruined by Ed Philion diving on his knees and rolling them up 4-5 seconds after the whistle? No penalties no suspension. Remember when kg couldn't play in the grey cup? We've all been there. Harris gets up from that hit. So do all our QBs. Our team isn't one man deep. If any one guy went down we are still a good play off team. The riders rolled the dice on severely damaged goods and he went down time and time again. Yet the riders kept bringing him back and leaning on him.

Another Honorable mention to Wilson who was having a great game till he got hurt. Hope he's ok he really showed a ton of improvement this year

The spearing not called, hit on Nichols was fine but the body slam follow through was not, no holding calls when jj was getting mauled. Poor pi calls and a lot of border line calls imo. Yeah the pbp was critically terrible

At this rate he could week end up their leading rusher for the year

Jones played great tonight as well. He just didn't make the big plays. Hecht has the best game of his career though. Even minus the picks if we get that performance out of the s spot each game it'll be fantastic.
