you think if shiltz plays really poorly they will stick with him over harris? I dont buy that at all. I think shiltz gets this week to really impress. If he doesnt, its harris time.

Neufeld isnt. Hes flat out too slow to defend the edge. There isnt a worse T in pass protection pro football. Gray 100% is better. Richmond on our PR was the top rated T prospect in all of college at one point. On track for a top 5 nfl draft choice and a massive deal. He had bad luck with playing on big teams that were bad. The vols, and USC. Every one thought USC would bounce back and they just didnt. That guys is as blue chip as an imp tackle prospect gets. Burks is the quintessential small school dominant T. Extremely mobile but was considered too small for the NFL. Keep in mind we got rid of rid of two guys when we got access to these guys. 1 was extremely well seasoned and sent to TO as an immediate starter, the other was an NFL starter. Both these guys had a lot of hype in the NFL and just missed out with the covid college year and influx of talent at the nfl level. Hope its just precautionary. Also hope brady can build on what he showed vs edm.

Youre mostly talking about elite tier players, vs players who could be just below them. Also, we know Mos will stick to his guys despite superior players. The difference between an elite player and replacement level is often razor thin. If you cant be elite, you arent in the pros. Fairly good guys, are walking the street with out an agent. Every time a pop up league happens (like the xfl) We get guys who wouldve been out of football (nichols) with a 2nd chance, who become great. We dont see a well spring of replacement level players. Football also has the deepest FA talent pool of any sport. Every single year you see former great who arent that old replaced with new young players. You would be stunned by how many former football players are walking around the southern states well out of football who could be cfl and nfl HOFers. Issues with the law, grades and addiction having ended their window early. (amongst many problems, starting a family really young does it a lot too.) You dont have that really at all in baseball or hockey.

yep. it was atleast 85 or 90% the awkward landing.
-
He 100% has the wheels still, its just not as clear when 99% of his running plays are inside tight zone vs 8 man boxes. You can see it when he cuts back and accelerates, when he out runs the edge after bouncing out, and how he's able to get to the secondary before contact with line backers. He out runs a lot of tackling angles and forces trail defenders to take longer routes to prevent him from scoring.

Management won't do any thing once you start the play offs. Coaching yeah they have good coaching. Qbing? Nah. Dominated the regular season through his career. But was on the wrong side of the biggest play off upsets. And now he's heavily diminished. He's a fraction of his former self. Carey is a good back. The wr core sucks. The ol is middle of the pack. The defense is good but not great. Montreal and Toronto are far more dangerous. No other west team is a big threat.

No such thing as relatively good in pro sports. Either you're a strength of the team and an asset or you're awaiting replacement.

His pro day was 4.45. And has comparable speed to lots of backs like Curtis Martin. The NFL also doesn't look for tall rbs. Tall rbs get hit low and tear up knees and hips. The average nfl rb is 5 10.5 and under 215. Harris is 5 10 and 216. This year 20 rbs were drafted in the nfl. Only 4 ran faster than 4.52 at the combine. The 5 year average 40 time for rbs is 4.49. If you remove the outliers you're looking at starting nfl rbs running the exact same type of numbers as Harris on high and low 40 times. people seem to think nfl rbs are all 4.3 machines but really Andrew harris is almost exactly the nfl prototype for rb in every way.
-
Yes he is. He ran a 4.45 and used to return kicks. He still has break away speed. His testing numbers were great. Tremendous upper body strength too.
-
Only good ones. It's the Jonathon Jennings exception to the rule. Yep. Since then though he looked great in the pre season. I don't think he's less stabile on their roster then any point prior.
-
I sure hope we do not see Neufeld at tackle again. That's flirting with disaster.
-
One play like twice. It's not at all the streveler package and he isn't that type of athlete.
-
Pretty much. Didn't give up much but taking on a big contract. Any one know how many years he has left on his deal. Honestly I don't see how he fits well with what khari does. Maybe khari will tailor the offense to Harris. He has lots of weapons at his disposal. If they miss the play offs or Harris gets pulled again could be the end of his time in the CFL. Harris would've been a perfect fit for plops offense too.
-
He may not have a year next year after the hits he's taken in bc. It might be a choice of football some place with a line and weapons or retirement. Not me. The 19 team was much better.

Bill belichick says luck is the residue of hard work.
-
Or Considering a trade request to Toronto lol.
-
This is how you ruin talented young qbs. They should be rostering 3 and throwing a guy like Jennings to the wolves as needed go protect the potential starters. No one else will admit it in the cfl but the Bombers break teams. Bc with out lucky is not much of a threat. It's easy to vice cover one wr. You don't have to worry about a run game Reilly is a sitting duck.
-
Stove Lawler Eli Bryant hardrick Taylor kongbo and Grant too. Honestly Brady ran a slow 40 but If he ran a tenth maybe a tenth and a half faster he'd be in the NFL too.
-
Yep this.
-
Classic plop. Imagine if they made him a focal point of their offense.
-
I think one of the biggest pitfalls in coaching is playing too passive. Bad teams play not to lose. Good teams play to win. Deep soft zone coverage and lack of pressure was the hallmark of our d when it wasn't great. Football outsiders has an older but great article on passive soft defenses sucking.
-
Looked to me like he just tweaked his hamstring and maybe knee. If it had been serious he wouldn't have been standing on the side line. He said going off he was OK too. I think it was more preventative keeping him out. They might keep him out next week if it stays tight and slows him down. If we clinch the west final we probably see him used sparingly in the last few weeks. But I doubt he would want to stay out.
-
Yep. I imagine the last game maybe two could see some pre season treatment where he gets half a game or so. Brady and augustine may start at that point to keep Harris healthy. Maybe gray gets a game too.
-
I didn't see him wiff on any blocks but I'll put an eye on it when I rewatch the game. That brutal blown rtp challenge took us from the red zone to punting and a fg for the elk too.
-
If hardrick isn't gonna be ready soon either gray or one of the two imps.
