  1. RBs are for certain a much better team now. They sudenly have a capable RB, and a qb who can lead an offense to more than 100 yards a game. Every team has improved like you said. The fact that we had no pre season only makes the amount improved even larger. When every one improves, teams that improve a little bit less seem worse off but the level of football has improved a good bit from the early weeks. Montreal, ssk, and edm have improved the least. The bombers, argos, and Rbs have improved the most.
  2. To be fair, brazzell and bowman were always streaky, drop prone guys but yes. The last point is really a great one. Just because a pro team moves on from a guy, doesnt mean they gave up on them or think they cant play. Some times players struggle. Some times players need a change of scenery. Or some times they just dont fit well. If any team has the chance to make them self better or cheaper, they will take it. Thats seldom an indictment of the former player, and more the fact of how much imp talent flows into pro football with every year. QFT x2. Im sure they have contingency plans in the works. This isnt the 2019 and prior team. We dont need a medlock level kicker to stay competitive. Mourtada is a badly flawed old imp kicker with little experience. Either they will craft him into what they seek, or they will make a move.
  3. Yeah, I mean he's another high up side low experience qb. Like dom davis, and MBT. You can have a reason to believe they will develop giving a steady flow of reps and coaching. But the hardest place to develop a QB is between the ears. He has tremendous physical talent. Hes big, really fast and athletic, and has a big arm. But for my money, I would rather develop a QB who is smart, mentally tough, accurate/good touch, with a quick release. Its amazing soo many years later, just how many teams at all levels of football want a michael bishop instead of a tom brady. I mean, I love athletic qbs as much as any one. I think a mobile qb is the easiest way to build a winning offense. But unless you have a michael vick level phenom talent, an athletic QB still needs to read and make decisions first and foremost. The critical failing of a guy like Fajardo (other than not being able to throw a deep ball), is his in ability to read a run opportunity. He scrambles when pressured. When he runs a designed qb keeper he doesnt fool any one. Collaros scrambles before the pressure comes, he keeps his eyes down field reading rushers and coverage, then makes the best decision he can. I think that if we are still struggling with kicking when the bye week hits that we will see castillo or lirim land here.
  4. I think its more about hash marks. Mourtada has to kick the fgs from down the middle. 30 yards and in but on the hash is still a no go for him. So angle kicks go to legs, and straight on kicks to mourtada. Same old broken record crap.
  5. I get that. But we arent going to go 2 NI on D on every snap. Itll be 1 and we'll rotate jake, kongbo, maybe hallet, and a lber. They arent going to feature 2 full time NIs on D this week. What a loser. We have a hulk. BA, SMASH!. Our defenses secret is, theyre always angry. But I hope they play extra mean football tnite.
  6. This is a great point. Pretty much every week this bomber team gets better. The team we are rostering tonight would take week 1 hamilton and make them look like a usports bottom feeder team. Darby, kyrie, and stove getting healthy is a massive game changer.
  7. How do you find it to be 5 and 2? I see 7 and 1? Unless they dont actually start jake on D but thats how the roster is.
  8. its typical player goes to new team throw away quote. Not worth any further examination imo. Idk how good thatd be. On one had he was a punter. On the other hand he also held for westy. But I mean, did he coach up westy at kicking any better? If yes, then im really scared.
  9. Kicking was a huge factor in that game. Crappy missed 2 fgs, and bede averaged 14 yards more per kick off. That was also the last combined bad game for bailey and adams. Combined 6/16 for 75 yards. But yes. Not having stove at that point, and having bighill playing sam and wil the argos used motion masterfully to pull him out of the box and leave it to our back up NI LBers to make stops in big gaps. With kyrie at wil, bighill not being pull out any more, and stove back in the middle the run game is closed off. That game also had 2 brutal blown calls that took a td off the board, and had us punting instead of in the red zone. And yes, we ran just 7 times for paltry yards but we still shouldve won that game. With harris and the run game chugging along as it is now, we would route the argos.
  10. big o would still be in play from every thing i understand.
  11. Montreal hasnt hosted since 08 and has only hosted twice since 85. Bc hasnt hosted in 7 years. Putting the game in the big o and having the new owners spruce it up a little would be way better. Not to mention itd help jump start their efforts to rebuild the brand. Lots of teams lost money last year. Hamilton is one franchise that doesnt have to worry about money. And, its the worst city and stadium in the cfl. 2 grey cups in 3 years only serves to dilute that market for hosting. Its a stupid ass pick. Especially considering the restrictions in the east.
  12. Honestly Im just more confused now lol. The cfl has changed its roster rules every year since like 17 or 18. I wish they would simplify it and increase a couple more spots in the next few years. If its an imp that sits, its between rocq, mcknight, and houston. Personally I hope they keep houston on the roster the most of the 3.
  13. we get 4 DIs normally, but we are starting an extra NI so we get an extra DI for 5.
  14. So the ticats are getting to host the 2023 AND 2021 grey cup. WHAT THE F^%&!
  15. Can do all 3 in theory. He's the worst kick off guy in the league. He had 1 good game punting, and has been one of the worst punters too. Worst punt avg, 2nd worst net punt avg. He's shanked more punts than games played.
  16. If they went after him, Id want to see him replace kate.
  17. QFT. Any one who thinks igf west is in the top 50 football venues in north america has never seen any d1 or big HS game down south. I cant imagine they are letting him go. he's pretty well liked in basketball, and the old people sports. 100%. The only diversity balance I noticed in the stands at the LDC was the amount of gingers to none gingers. Lets also not forget that Coach hall openly claimed ssk as the most racist place he's ever coached. Lets keep in mind he spent most of his career in edmonton, and was born in south texas in 1960. Is IGF west one of the nicer stadiums in the cfl? Sure, for a toilet bowl shaped venue its in the top tier. But its also one of 2 stadiums in canada built for the CFL only.
  18. We are starting 8 nis, do we get an extra DI. If we sit an imp, I bet its mcknight or rocquemore. More likely mcknight. If its an NI, I think its kramdi. Going from 1 back up db in hallet, to technically 4 is pretty crazy for us. The hallett boys are excellent on teams. Cadawaller is a teams backer. We always roll deep at that. SO I think its gonna be kramdi. Though Im not gonna do the count and see if we have to sit an imp or not. 100%. Thats the most balanced roster we've seen all year.
  19. https://leaderpost.com/opinion/opinion-in-canada-a-cfl-malaise-symbolizes-a-nation-thats-lost-its-mojo What a terrible article. Wow, I mean an all time stinker. "On a warm Sunday afternoon in early September, the 2021 game was played in Regina’s beautiful new Mosaic Stadium , one of North America’s best venues." It goes on to say the rider fan base is the perfect mix of diversity, from gender to race. It paints a picture of the league and country falling apart as the riders lost. As if "canadas team" and their false hope held the league and country together. And it just drones on and on and on.
  20. yep it was a freebie. It was willy, for faith, petermann, and heath. Did we trade heath away or did he walk in FA? Idr. But it was the trade that kept on giving.
  21. The elk did the same thing with the extra NI starters in the last game vs us. I dont get it.
  22. Thats the thing, going from one style of kicking to another is far harder than first trying to learn to kick a football. Remember that guy who hit the 50 yarder for a million bucks in that tsn contest a decade or more back? Then taman added his name to the neg list? I bet mourtada couldnt make a 45 from the hash for a million bucks. I first tried kicking when I was 14 ish. I lived in a small town and had a massive yard. I was punting and kicking off a tee, the first day I hit the power line going to the house and broke it. It was dragged on the ground but not totally disconnected. The hydro guys came and laughed and joked about it and fixed it. The next day I hit it again, and broke it again. No laughs, no jokes, they got an RC down to talk to me and I was banned from kicking any where with in town limits ever again. In junior every year I would try and back up any position the coaches would let me (My position list on the roster was hilariously long.) Among the many back up spots I held was holder. I held for the back up kicker (a wr) a few times. He was brutal and for laughing I got to run with the kickers for the day. After that, I got 3 kick offs to similar effect and was never allowed to kick again. The last kick off I tried the old westy on side kick. Sent a low screamer right at a guy in front of me. Broke his cup but he fell on the ball. First two went about as far out of bounds as they did down the field. All in all, I mightve punted the ball well, once, when I was 14. Landing a kick in the sweet spot frequently has to be really hard. I couldnt believe how bob cameron would do it when punting, especially when he would throw the ball towards his foot rather than drop it. The more I think about it, the crazier kicking seems. Must be why they are pretty much all coo coo for cocopuffs.
  23. Oh he will kick. I just have no faith he can make a kick.
  24. We're gonna bring the cup back where the thang belongs. Had to love his optimism. Until you couldnt stand it any more any way.
  25. Legs is focusing on punting. He was struggling at all 3 roles which is a crazy amount to do in your first season, especially after a missed season.
