  1. you clearly dont know how to indicate sarcasm on the internet /s /green etc
  2. post hoc ergo propter hoc. Can you quote where moore was mentioned? Or that dressler was done? Must have missed that part im sure you didnt just jump to some crazy conclusion and miss the point entirely...
  3. true in 99% of situations. Some guys are incredibly lacking in ability to learn systems. When tee martin was in his last days here i remember him saying he still wasnt used to the 3 down thing. That said the true worth of a teacher isnt how well they teach their best students, its how well they are able to teach the ones that struggle the most.
  4. Mmmm thats very interesting indeed. Wylies credentials as an OL coach are as good as they come. Not to mention im all in favor of blaming marcel lol. Makes me think about our coaching staff and front office though. Every one who follows the cfl knew he was running an awful offense. Im sure MoS and the front office knew that as well, and would have known that he was not on the same page as every one else. Why did it take soo long to get rid of him? Are we now going to keep any one hired till the end of their contract like the steelers?
  5. to be fair, he butchered us a couple times so it skews things a bit. If he would have stayed healthy and gotten heavy reps in those couple years early on im sure he would have been a 1500+ yards double digit TDs and a sky high YPC. To me, camp is huge for guys still adjusting to the cfl game or who dont stay in game shape in the off season. Also young guys still working on improving their craft. To a lot of established veterans I think its more psychological. Some guys dont need camp as much as others. henoc might be one of those, but I hate to see a guy sitting and waiting rather then going out and making it happen for him self. Hes trying to rest on the laurels of what he did here before going to the nfl and his physical tools. But that was a long time ago now and his tools arent getting sharper.
  6. xD that would be funny. If some one is top notch and excels in any area physically they are worth a look. Lets go sign one of the nbadl guys thats been kicking around a few years. 6'8 220 lbs wr lol. But then most of those guys struggle to put up 1 rep of 185 at their combine.
  7. He was a high potential guy but never stayed healthy or came close to living up to expectations. He was a bust, showed flashes in 07 and 08 but over 6 years had dismal production. Henoc on the other hand is a ratio breaker and a big time play maker. One of the better lbers in the cfl and still young.
  8. cjob has a large radius, idk about size comparisons for 1290. but 680 is allways partially static for me, and ive been a good few places where its been worse.
  9. xD oh buckbq. I found them dry and over done long before the expiration date.
  10. every other play goes to him, and they won the cup last year. I wish our players were over rated like that.
  11. In the other half he put up 320 yards in 9 games... remember how many qbs milt caught tds from? All of them. all of the qbs on earth. Hes a really good wr, legit go to no1 wr for the team. Im not sayin hes bad, but he sure isnt the no1 guy in the past 6 years.
  12. it was like the feeling every time kamau incompleterson caught a pass after he left wpg
  13. xD your right idk what i was thinking. From now on i shall call him santajesusgod.
  14. both games on tv? What is this madness? We arent even playing TO! 1290 continues warming up to take over the bombers coverage once knuckles retires. Nothing but my opinion behind that, but i hold to it. Westy and walby are pretty darn good too.
  15. I think just work outs. Back then that was mostly what cfl guys got. Hold a clip board and go get coffee. He did a bunch of that, threatened to request a trade one, threatened to retire, held out. Eh he was allways here for game time and allways kept the office stuff away from the field. Blink did a bit of that too.
  16. best wr for the past 6 years? Cmon man. hes got 1200 yards and change for 7 tds in the past 2 years. 1206 is his career high, and only been in double digits for tds once. 5/8 years in the cfl hes had 1000 yards. career average yards per season of under 1k. 3 year average of 750 and 5 tds. Plus some change.
  17. I think he explored them but I dont believe they amounted to much. He played his best after he hit 30, and its really tough for 30+ year old guys to get the jump to the nfl. 2000-2002 was his prime, and he was 30/31/32 in that time frame.
  18. The power generation comes from legs and hips and goes up. Lower body strength is more important, but great upper body strength can really bail a tackle out. Of course foot speed hip fluidity and such are all very important at tackle too. What ever a Ts weakest at is most important to him. Lots of linemen out there dont have particularly big arms for their stature. But they all have big legs. Its kinda taken for granted that when your 300+ and play a sport at a high level that your legs will be pretty damn strong. I think thats why 225 reps at the combine is thought soo highly of for linemen. If a guy has strong upper body and is that big his legs probably wont be lagging too badily. For me though ill take a quick/explosive tackle over any other single attribute.
  19. At a run jump position like wr ill take youth. Never know when a guy will lose a step. Some guys it happens kinda early others last pretty long. But with the average half life of a pro career, young and productive is about as good as it gets.
  20. The first play he runs by his defender and makes a great one handed catch then leaves his man in the dust. Lots of big plays, not that youd expect much else from a highlight reel. Looks like he tends to catch the easy between the numbers passes with his body. But when the ball is thrown low, high, behind or leading him he does a great job snagging it with his hands. There are a good few guys every year on nfl PRs that make a circus catch every practice or two, but body catch and have some drops on easy passed for this exact same reason. That said, this video is 5 years old and hes been around the nfl a good while. He ran a 4.6 40 which isnt blazing, but when you watch him in game and he reaches top speed with in a couple steps. Runs away from a lot of defenders too He looks really fast 0-20 yards and 40+. That and nifty foot work and good moves is why i imagine they tried to turn him into a KR. Clearly plays faster then 4.6, strong and a strong jumper too. Isnt a tackle breaker despite his size, but one of those guys who doesnt just fall over at contact. And he clearly isnt afraid of contact with lots of over the middle plays, and catches in traffic. The NFL knocks on him were not a good route runner, inconsistent with catches, Doesnt block, and isnt a high motor guy. But in college he looked like a solid STs cover guy. That and the length of time he stuck in the nfl I tend to think he isnt a low effort guy. Id say hes some where between chris brazzell and chris mathews. Clearly has all the potential in the world. Size, speed, hands, can jump and is big and strong. Really interesting to see what he will do.
  21. Its remnants of the long off season and people not having enough to freak out over xD
  22. Im betting both will be in camp on a wink wink type of deal but thats just me.
  23. Tbh i credit that mostly with khari's quick check downs. Its not some thing we saw make a big return when he came back as a HC and ran his own offense. I would love to see that return though. Id agree with that, but Imop he should have been fired before that. Turning a possible W we had no right earning into a L even if its a moral victory isnt gonna cut it in the cfl or any league. I didnt think it was just passive play calling, though that was a problem. Our offense under him seemed soo vanilla and lacking in diversity. Maybe it was plays to set up other stuff that never came to fruition but the offensive playbook/calling is my biggest concern for this team this year. I think our talent and depth is in a great place.
