For sure. I wish we rotated him in on the offense frequently. Some jet sweep some demski stuff screens etc. The guy can do damage with the ball in his hands and he runs north south. He's perfect for up here. Imagine if we ran a jet sweep with reverse motion? Demski going one way and Grant going the other. Defense would have fits.

I'm glad for him. If he keeps up how he finished the season he will make the nfl. If not we will be Happy to have him back. My big concern with this potential loss is his rotation spot as a ni. Briggs and Gauthier were over extended last year. They left us exposed too frequently in the run game. Those two have no chance of beating a block. They get swallowed up and pushed out of gaps too easily.

He moved around. Started at both guard spots c and rt a couple games. They didn't have a great team. They ran rb by committee. And none of em were very good. He did play very well though as much as a single good ol can on an average or worse line. He was honorary mention on the all sunbelt team. Which is pretty tough to do as an ol on a bad offense. Like I said earlier depends on the combine. The guy is a generational athlete at ol. If he gets to the nfl combine healthy he will put up crazy numbers and crush guys 1 on 1. He's a work out warrior. If he doesnt then we got a great chance of getting him this year. He also dropped 10lbs. He could probably drop another 10 but he's soo quick and explosive he doesn't need to in order to stick. He only had like 1.5 pan cakes per game vs the crazy sum he had in Maine. I'm pretty sure his main knock downs would be a record if that's tracked.

Yes. Any and all of that. I would think so too. Guy like that at the top of his craft on a dominant team. Ride on till you can't. That said I do hope he calls it quits at a time when he still has a very high quality of life remaining. It's all gonna come down to nfl combine for dobson. If he gets the inv he will be drafted and gone for the year. If he some how doesn't get the inv or gets banged up and limited we get him in camp. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with another good ol in this draft too. The mafia know how to identify and develop guys that will fit the system. They don't even need to be high picks. They've turned up some good ol with depth picks.

I think at this point the big question on our ol is Stanley Bryant. If he keeps playing we will continue to dominate on the ol by experience even if Desjarlais is nfl bound.

They are 5ol and 1 season playing together away from having a good ol. If they had Nichols or Harris or blm etc they would've been Ottawa bad. Fajardos legs gave them their only life and his lack of a good arm took it right back. I agree. But I don't think we will. I think it'll be another big batch of rookies and a couple returnees from 2021 filling out the ranks. Stewart Nelson and McKnight. Id love to see the Nelson era end but I don't expect it.

I don't even want to think about losing stove. I'd sooner see Sayles walker and rose gone. We dont have another guy to play nose idk how many guys in the league could fill his role. Maybe drake Nevis would be cheap. The difference is that they aren't remotely the same type of player. Sayles who I think is phenomenal and ready for a massive year isn't a nose. Sayles plays a 3 tech. Out side shoulder of the guard is his alignment. Stove plays on the center. This stagger gives us great ability to collapse the pocket and helps our layered pressure. One de going wide on a deep Pass rush angle and the other rushing shallow. This obviously isn't what we do all the time we rotate guys and fronts a good bit. But this is the bread and butter that opens the rest up. Sayles is like a hybrid de dt. He pass rushes from inside position. We some times use a 3 de front usually with willy in this role. This both closes running gaps and collapses the pocket or pushes it back onto the qbs lap. Stove goes up the middle into a double team virtually every snap he plays. Some times he knocks his man down soo fast its more like 2 1 on 1s. No one here has that kind of bull rush. Rose and walker are similar tool sets to Sayles. Rocq hardly played d after coming back. He mostly played teams. It wasn't till the play offs we limited the Briggs and Gauthier sub package. With those guys at lber and no Stove we got our lunch eaten inside. In that world I'd rather lose one of the ends. Stove ba and biggie are what makes our defence work. It's like demski Harris and collaros on offense. You can find a guy plays wr rb or qb. But trying to find a qb with collaros mobility Harris blocking and catching and demskis blocking and versatility is as hard as finding a great qb. Finding a nose who can play 2 gaps and eat double teams alive while also having the range to run down plays to the side line is beyond hard. Drake Nevis was and maybe is an excellent nose. But he couldn't get off tackle play 2 gaps or get after the qb like Stove. Stove is just 25. Give him a full year in 2022 and he's easily the most dominant inside line man in decades. He's a Larry Allen level freak. Drake rotating in with stove playing 3 again would be deadly. No guard in the league can block him 1 on 1.

Soo soon. I feel like the entire west division might have 1 combined roster signed by then.

They don't chase twitchy quick small guys with slow 40s into their late 20s either. Yep. His year 2 production was better than guys like lenius. He is a 1k yards quality wr all day. But he fills a role instead. Or that secondary. Or ped Leonard. Ac is like swac back in the day. When he doesn't get sacks he doesn't have an impact. Wj contributes more to our defence when he isn't getting pressure than ac when he is.

When does fa start Feb some thing? Mafia are moving at a good pace but I don't think any team will have even half their roster signed by then. Any bets on who we lose to another cfl team as a fa? I think it would probably be a db. We have a lot of starters at db and they have to save money some place. Could be Darby or Nichols. Maybe Sayles walker rose or kongbo too. We are crazy deep at dl. It'd be smart for another team to poach one of those guys with the offer of a starting job. Ba Lawler and collaros are the ones I worry the most about.

No they wanted a full time kr. The Bombers don't like having a positional starter or even heavy rotation player kr. He dressed for 15 games and was on the pr for 3.

Don't buy it. I'm sure he had go retest atleast once though. His apology was terrible. Lucky should be in the nfl. He's the most dynamic player in the league. It's a lot of money for a small sample size. But that's risk I'd take every day and twice on game day.

He's as much a down field guy as Lawler. But we do need a speed tool guy. That and speedy to Hamilton would've been more interesting imo. I don't think he will be the highest paid wr for long. I think the Riders will give Duke more.

The best true rookie db I've ever seen. First pro every thing in 2021. I hope he kills it down in Atlanta. I believe once you are declared as an imp you can't change. But a few guys in the league should be re classified as globals.

We don't. Bailey and woli could fill role and have similar skill sets. Grant is a kr. He has only been used in the offense during a couple game stretch of 19. Our wr core has a serious lack of speed. And in the cfl you add as many down field weapons as you can get. Weinke should get a call from all 9 teams If he doesn't go south.

Ba and biggie are critical to bring back. BA was extremely under rated in modp voting. Once that's done our d is in a good spot. We can fill db holes. I feel like we may well see change on the ol but it'll still be top tier. We are just too deep not to be.

To be fair a futures contract really means you're TCF and will be cut in camp. A guy like desjarlais isnt gonna take that, he'd want a real contract. We see the NFL grabs cfl guys that are questionable some times. Who was that return man we cut mid season and went to the vikings or some thing?

When he gets his ring its probably going to be the 50$ fan ring with 8 of 15 engraved in it.

Lenius' season was comparable to 'Sheeds. Bailey did a lot more in terms of blocking, and had more production but played with the best qb in the league. Lenius played with a CJ, who could throw a riding lawn mower down field about as well as a football. 52 catches on 72 attempts, 629 yards, 214 yac, 5 tds, for a 12.1 avg and a long of 50. 37 catches on 55 attempts, 471 yards, 128 yac, 4 tds, for a 12.7 avg, and a long of 53. Sheed is 6'1 208, and Lenius is 6'5 220. And to be fair, Lenius' 4.7 40 time is pretty similar to most of our wrs. He took a step that guys like simonise and peterson never did. And out produced woli the last 2 years. Though woli has never gotten the chance he had in his 2nd year here. And he blocks even more than Bailey. If bailey had a better start to the year he'd probably be getting a bit of NFL interest too.

To be fair it was a short season but yeah, its a reach. The NFL does reach some times for underperforming guys who fit a certain mold. Isnt the option window thing open? Why did they release him to go shouldnt he have just been able to sign or w/e?
