Colin Unger

I’m cheering for the riders here. Bc finishing low enough to provide us with the 1st overall pick in next years draft is the highest achievement a bomber fan can ask for.

I would give it one more week... if this team loses on Labor Day then I’d do some sort of shake up. Either start streveler or fire hall.

P When your running back rushes for less than 17 yards play action is pretty useless.

Compared with Mike Reilly no qb in the CFL seems to be up to snuff. I think Nichols is being affected by the lack of a training camp and having less mobility. Last year he took steps forward after working on his speed very hard in the offseason. Now he's having to work with less mobility than he had to begin with. He's still by far our best bet. This team can beat any team in the league if the team plays declined focused football. Something they hadn't done vs ottawa.

Nichols does need to play better but I think we would had lost this game even if Mike Reilly was our quarterback. How many penalties did Nichols take? This game IMO was lost on undisciplined play across the board. How many 2 point converts and touchdown drives by ottawa had occurred after Winnipeg got the stop only to have given Ottawa a second life through a pentalty? Most of the time it was a penalty that had nothing to do with making the defensive stop. I’m sorry but this was one of Nichols better games this season. If the defense and the offense hadn’t taken uncharacteristic penalties we’d be celebrating a win and nichols likely ends up with 300 yards passing and zero turnovers. It doesn’t bother me that he was boo’d but did we really expect Matt Nichols to put up 45 points and win the game. He never had and never will be that type of quarterback. We can win with Nichols but not like this. With Nichols as our qb we need to do all the little things Right and we found out what happens when we do all the little things wrong.

I’m actually more concerned about who will do the holding on field goals. Streveler ?

Any word on who is going to be starting in place of Weston Dresslor? Is this how Flanders finally gets back into the lineup?

The problem with Gaitor is that he’s a spectator even when he’s starting in the secondary

Not wrong. Matty has to play better or we won't be able to compete with Calgary or Edmonton in the playoffs. But that's not a position we can address. Streveler needs to sit back and learn for a couple years before challenging Matty. He just needs to do whatever he needs to do to get back to where he was at last season.

Winnipeg should consider signing him. Our receiving core lacks the depth of talent that other top tier teams have and talent wise he's still one of the top guys in the CFL if he plays receiver on a regular basis. Or maybe we should just wait for Montreal to cut Jackson.

Simonise and Washington are both 6'4. So im not too worried about it.

I think it probably had more to do with showing Bowman respect. Instead of releasing him they sniffed around to see if anybody would give up a ceremonial draft pick for him. There's nobody you're gonna draft in the 8th round that you could just sign as an undrafted free-agent.

Ted Wyman‏ @Ted_Wyman 8m8 minutes ago More The condition on the #Bombers return in the Adarius Bowman trade is this: If he does well in Montreal, the Bombers get an eighth-rounder. If he doesn't, they get nothing. But they do save money on salary. #CFL

Hopefully, the cap space gets used by Geoff Gray in a few weeks.

An 8th round pick is tantamount to having been released.

His was in a role that required making the catches available to you in a low volume position. Somebody like Petermann could likely do a better job in that role as a Canadian.

Honestly we'd be just as good if not better if we starting another Canadian receiver. Perhaps the team looks at starting Simonise and adding Flanders to there roster once he's healthy.

Not sure how much the money matters at this point. He was getting paid 140k for the season and likely received a significant chunk of that in bonuses. I’d like to see the team give him 5 or 6 targets to see if we can’t get him going. He does seem to be getting open.

It’s just that nothing else has changed and the offensive line appears to be more dominant than past year and Bond couldn’t open up a hole for CJ if his life depended on it. This after getting cut from a weak offensive line in Regina.

I’m curious if there are still people out there who think that Pat Neufeld is s major downgrade from Travis Bond? I share people’s concern over potential injury problems for Patty but I’m not convinced he isn’t an upgrade over Bond when healthy.

I said that before I relealised that Gale had been moved to the practice roster. At this point nothing would surprise me. He could start or he could end up being put on the one game injury list with Gale being activated. I think a lot will depend on the week of practice. I can’t see them dressing him without being comfortable putting him into the game. Otherwise we’d be better of with Gale.

So this pretty much guarantees he will be back by week 5??

Hamilton might be the best team in the CFL right now. You need a starting qb who’s capable of going toe to toe with Masoli to beat them. I don’t see BC as being at all in the class. Should at the very least be a close game if not a convincing bombers win even without Nichols.

Later Gaitor

Apparently Jeremiah "The Mole" Masoli currently has tied the CFL record for 8 strait 300 yard plus passing games. He can break the record against Winnipeg this week.
