  1. Yes, it's never a good thing to consider what possibilities might lie ahead. This is a football forum, so no speculation allowed!
  2. Maybe Mike, but BLM didn't have quite the intro that this young man has. I see, potentially, a higher ceiling for Streveler than Mitchell, so it might be possible that he does stick. In any case, if he does leave, I sure hope that if he comes back to the CFL it's with us, but I really hope you're right!
  3. From my perspective the real issue is that if Streveler continues to improve of this season and the next, it is entirely possible that he'll be NFL bound for 2020. Matt's only 31 which is good, because it's likely that he's going to be needed around here for some time to come, one way or the other.
  4. A Harris
  5. You could, but to call a Rider fan an idiot would sort of be redundant, no?
  6. Yea, but let's be honest here. If you had simply said, "our rookie QB who threw for 180 yards and 53% completions had a good not great game" there would have been little, if anything, said. But that's not what happened. You made other comments too. You made sure that "he had a good not great game" would be seen as a backhanded complement, because you wanted a reaction. It's what you do. Then, when you got the reaction you were looking for, you moved into the "i didn't say that" stage followed eventually by the "I'm the victim here" finale. It gets played out over and over because it's what you do. It's your shtick.
  7. You're confusing insecurity with enjoyment. I understand. You folks confuse words all the time, like wife & cousin.
  8. You guys do realize that you are arguing with people from Saskatchewan; a province where they think that ancestry .ca and match.com are the same site, right?
  9. You are right, but having said that, it doesn't change one thing: Riders suck.
  10. You know, that's what I was thinking too. I mean if you can't rise to the occasion and play to the level of the best QB in the CFL in your first try, why are you even bothering. I'm hoping that O'Shea and LaPolice have sat Streveler down, shown him their 6 column spreadsheet and explained that he better pick up the bloody pace, or else.
  11. So Booch, you're saying that there are things other than hard stats that one might need to consider when making an accurate assessment? That there's more to evaluating performance than looking at five or six hard stats. Are you suggesting that there is actual skill involved in making judgments on players and that having a 6 column spreadsheet might not be enough? Mind blown...
  12. God, your shtick is getting old and were only one game in. Going to be a long season...
  13. I saw no one declare Streveler to be anything but a rookie who had a good outing FOR A ROOKIE IN HIS FIRST CFL GAME AS STARTER. If you want to compare stats, then don't check out what the other QB's did this past week. Instead go back and see how they did when they were starter in the opening game of their rookie year. Oh wait, NO ONE else since Calvillo has done that, so I guess you really don't have a lot to compare his debut with. The closest thing you might be able to come up with is how they did in their first game as a starter in the CFL. Get back to us on that would you? Thanks. Oh, and by the way, only one poster has suggested that we could shop Nichols around and I think you can see how people responded to that "genius idea". Trying to drum up an argument where none existed. Who would have guessed...
  14. So you honestly think that a guy who has played exactly 0 games should be held to the same standards as the MOP and another guy who has played in this league for several years? Ok, colour me shocked that you're trying to take the contrarian view. Good luck with that.
  15. Usually, we need to get three or four games into the season (at least) before someone comes up with as dumb an idea as that. Well done.
  16. I must have missed it, but who was claiming that he was a world beater? Most of the posts I saw said he did pretty well considering that he's a 23 year old rookie. So with that being the case, I'm not sure why you're comparing his stats to Reilly's. I'd hope that at this point, Reilly's numbers would be better.
  17. Mods, come on, enough is enough of this sort of trolling. Please do something about it soon.
  18. speaking of kicking... go away troll.
  19. In fairness to Glenn, I'm pretty sure that he's thrown more td's to his own receivers than to the other side. (excluding the last minute of the game of course)
  20. He might if it meant giving up his priority spot in the buffet line.
  21. This, you heathens, is fry bread, sometimes known as bannock: It is the closest thing to manna that there is...
