  1. Very good although I didn't care for that run by Nichols from the 5 yard line.
  2. Winnipeg, B.C. and Edmonton are the only teams in the league playing with the QBs they started the season with, and all due to injuries. Why tempt fate?
  3. Why the hell is Nichols in there on short yardage? Calgary knows exactly who's getting the ball.
  4. You know it's bad when Suitor thinks it's a Bomber TD and the officials don't.
  5. This Grant guy looks pretty good.
  6. First I want to agree that the spot of the ball was absolute BS. But the way that the review system works in the CFL, and other leagues, is that there has to be conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field. Trouble is that every angle shows MBT fumbling and almost immediately that ball disappears from view and is never seen anywhere. Thus there is no chance of a successful result to a challenge, going by the rules. Despite my questioning MOS more and more as a coach, I don't blame him at all for not challenging.
  7. Based on what you're saying, O'Shea would be an excellent special teams coach, but not a particularly effective head coach.
  8. He may have killed us on a lot of calls, but that play actually worked and got the first down, prior to the fumble.
  9. It will probably be closer than what most are expecting, but if the Bombers do go up by a few TDs, I'd like to see Strev go in sooner.
  10. Less noise when they are 3rd and goal from the one. 🙂
  11. I heard that Jefferson was quite animated in the way he expressed concern to the ref about having the Ottawa player's puke cleaned up off the field. I don't recall hearing any of it during the game but that would probably be funny as hell to hear.
  12. "Right down main street once more... But it's wide." Classic Black.
  13. That's what I had always assumed, and understandably so. But he did color for another play by play man not too long ago and it didn't seem to make any difference.
  14. I didn't care for Sanchez too much when he started, but now I can tolerate him. I much prefer him to Jock who I found quite annoying and usually anti-Bombers. Cuthbert and Dunigan are my favorites but I've lost my appreciation for Ford who almost seems disinterested sometimes.
  15. Looks good although I would switch Ottawa and Calgary since the Redblacks won the game between them.
  16. My wife and I were on the east side, all layered up and with a heavy blanket to boot. Still froze our asses off. Can't imagine those poor souls on the temporary seats.
  17. Their second game is against B.C. Should be a fun one to watch.
  18. I know it's a team game but a couple of mental mistakes by Nichols on those pick sixes caused a net swing of 20 to 28 points (if they'd gotten FGs or TDs on those drives). That just can't happen.
  19. It could be a fairly long thread if we put all of MOS's gaffes from the Ottawa game into one thread. As for the wasted challenge, I thought the evidence for PI was sketchy at best. But even if the evidence was a slam dunk PI, do you still want to use your one and only challenge to reverse a call that early in the game. Likely only get 3 points out of it anyway. Not smart coaching.
  20. I'm not sure who's mentally softer here: Nichols for his perceived response to the booing, or MOS for not saying "NO" to Nichols who wanted to go back out with a minute left to try and get his 300 yard game. The coach needs to consider the big picture here, and if Nichols had sustained a serious injury in that final drive, he would have learned that lesson the hard way. The coach's priorities are out of sync. Such a reckless decision.
  21. The location excuse was also used when they were at the dome: no one wants to go downtown. There was a time when the Argos used to draw 40,000 fans. But that was before the Blue Jays, before the Raptors, and before MLS. Toronto sports fans have come to think of their city as "big time" "big league," and they look down their nose at the lowly CFL and their team that plays in it.
  22. I agree with most of what you say, but Spencer has been with Ottawa the past two seasons.
  23. Matt was regarded by many to be a "glass quarterback" but I don't ever remember him getting injured without contact. A couple years ago Durant popped his achillies while getting set to throw right at the start of the season.
