  2. No doubt...most of us were looking him up on the roster page wondering if he was even in camp..lol

  9. Probably the best example of a guy who flew under the radar of posters but turned into a ******* good player is Clarence Denmark.

  11. I like that he can play any of the Line Backer positions and Safety.
  12. Agree - He won both agility drills at the cfl combine this year posting a 4.01 shuttle/6.82 3-cone which for a 223 lb’r is impressive.

  15. Some sloppiness, some nice plays... Definitely pre season. Calgary stadium still an embarrassing dump. Can't believe the GC is going to showcase that place on national TV.
  16. You should root for him - I am! Quick feet and good eyes!
  17. Link from my nephew re camp video Stuart #7 For anyone interested. Not rooting for - just familiar with his play and think projects well.
  18. I can tell you with certainty that every year roster guys fly completely under our radar on this forum. None of us attend camp or receive enough unbiased info to know who might surprise. Hope the guy you are rooting for is as good as you say because he would then have beat out some pretty good prospects.
  19. Today
  20. First new rule shows up... no points on a punt that goes outta bounds in the endzone.
  21. My first post so go easy on responses:) I have to agree about draft pick Stuart (#7 - on D) - frankly surprised he hasn’t gotten more mentions from his camp - disagree with early comments he’s just a ST body. My nephew played with him at Mac so I’ve seen many of his college games and he’s a legitimate top tier stud - elite in coverage, in the box and he tackles like a beast. Here’s a theory - because he’s a non counter - wonder if JY is hiding him with the 3’s until roster trimming is done. Apparently JY talks to him regularly - would be surprised if he isn’t rostered as he’s been taking reps with the 1’s on punt, and regular D reps with the 2’s and done well. With his size (220+) and movement he presents a ton of options - Boundary Safety, Half, SAM or WSLB. My nephew sent a great cut up of Stuart’s camp performance (pretty impressive: multiple picks/PBU’s and dominant in battle drills) - I’d post it but I don’t know how to upload video attachments?
  22. I went and read the TC reports. Schoen got a couple kudos at rookie camp then basically no mentions until final cuts. Blake and Lucky Jackson were going the ongoing front runners here. Most had it as a choice of Adugosi or Schoen for Pr. Kudos to Mike for recognizing Schoen early.
  23. Wonder how much the riders will win the grey cup by today...
  24. Mike actually said as soon as schoen was signed what a good signing that was.
  25. lawler wasn’t a recruit he was a bc cut, but he was the best of a bad group of young guys. schoen was on fire from rookie camp on, tc was a bit more quiet as we had a lot of wrs getting reps then he did the same thing in pre season as he did in rc. You’re pressuring what it’s being based on. It simply isn’t as talent loaded as we’ve seen. Those bigger crops haven’t really panned out either, maybe someone like singer could step up and perform really well and our guys could stay healthy and it won’t even be an issue. But the reality is, this group doesn’t have the raw talent or the polish of groups we’ve brought in previously. Raw talent at wr really pops when you see guys in 1 on 1s and skelly. You can see the flashes very quickly and clearly. We just don’t have much of that this camp. Be it rookie camp or full camp this year. A bumper crop at a position doesn’t mean success. We’ve seen loaded dl/dt, lber, and wr groups before, that didn’t pan out at all. That doesn’t mean they we won’t have a guy who over achieves or is just a game day guy, but it is a bit disheartening. Imo, the cuts we’ve seen like smith who showed a bit early, is a strong indicator. We’ve seen 8 wrs cut and 1 new guy brought in. I expect we will ride with these guys and any one who doesn’t show out in pre season will be sent packing. I think we will cycle through cuts and continue to look to back fill wr talent. This crop might yield 1-2 guys who stick on the pr and that might only be for a bit. Pookie would be a strong case of a gamer. He had flashes but wasn’t lights out by any means. Even in the first 1/3, of his rookie year you didn’t think he’d be a 1k guy that year. I could see wilson taking a big step forward this year too.

  27. jsk done for the year. soo much for the 2nd time around . I hope it wasn’t a signing bonuses front end loaded deal
  28. Post all your prospects. Did CC just drop some spots with this announcement? https://www.tsn.ca/ncaa/hockey/article/carels-committs-to-north-dakota-as-he-prepares-for-nhl-draft/
  29. Kenny was generally regarded amongst this forum as the best of a bad batch of recruits by this forum. Looking back on old TC posts, the consensus on Schoen was not very positive until late into camp either. Most posters felt that he might have an outside shot at the PR with Blake and Lucky Jackson ahead of him. lmao. Same goes every TC, we grouse about what the coaches were thinking at final cuts and then understand later. Bottom line...spending an afternoon watching camp does not tell the story of any one of our recruits. To say our receiver/DL prospects are a bust right now is pure speculation.
  30. Any receivers jumping off the page at camp at all?
  31. Demski, Nield, Corcoran, Clercius, Cobb...and then MCI and Daniels if we stop going 5 WR for the rest of the game. I think there's depth there to run 3 Canadians from that group. But the question is the talent. Demski is the only difference maker from that group...and he's getting older...the rest are hopefuls and role guys. So I'm definitely concerned as well RE: putting out enough weapons for Zach. Unless those Canadians take big steps we are really leaning on Brady and our two top-end receivers in White and Wilson.
  32. I think our best use of the final offensive spot is a guy big enough to dominant none dl blocks, but athletic enough that they demand a lber/db tweener at best. When it’s a 6th ol, or a guy like daniels, we hurt the run game and limit zachs ability to put the ball where he wants (down field) When brady is at his best, he’s aiming and pressing the A gap but ready to one cut and hit the b gap or press off tackle. When we play a 6th full size blocker, Ds go to an extra dl. Usually a di with every other team basically carrying a di dl every game. That 1, reduces the gap size and window between the tackle. But 2, moves the off tackle point to a spot that is hard to reach before the second level closes the angle. Daniels as a replacement for the heavy set edge blocker role that eli used to come in for is great. Though im not sure he’d be an upgrade over schmekel in that role. I think daniels potential long term offering to zach as his pressure release guy is great. More than just dropping size I think he needs that mobility/movement training to be enough of an asset in the pass game. Daniels vs peterson for a spot would make sense if we are going heavy set base a lot. Though I really worry about how thin we would be with offensive play makers. We really need some one to take a big step forward as a play maker on offence. We have basically no ability to absorb an injury to an offensive play maker.
  33. yeah I think the last wr will rotate in package for sure. I think we are likely to see more heavy sets than 5 wide sets.
  34. I think we will see more MCI out of backfield...even spot out wide on a 2 back set...Clercius should be rotated in and with Neild and at times as the 5th. I just cant see the logic of going 3 Canadians full time as we dont have the depth or talent for it really. Clercius is perfect for the main Canadian backup and used in specific packages based on down and distance and position on field. Daniels in my opinion shouldnt be expected to take a lot of offensive reps other than in jumbo packages and ones where we actually using a TE as an actual option, and in and around the goaline We need a 5th receiver who is a speed guy or a big bodied athlete to win contested balls
