3 turds. Was out of town so just watched fully (skipped parts) today. I watched periodically on Saturday but boating fishing and kids and fires more important. Anyways. 1. Hogan - play calling. I don’t know the actual call, none of us do but hogan makes me yearn for last years Buck Pierce. It’s the same playbook pretty sure. It’s like hogan took the worst of Buck last year and said yup, this will do. Brady vouched for this ******. Wonder if he feels the same now. D bag. Sunglasses in every interview just screams D bag. Time to throw him under the bus. 2. I’m gonna put Kola here. Now I don’t think it’s just him, Bryant looks old, Neufeld ain’t it anymore either. Wallace and Randolph are solid I think but they are working with very little. Starts with the center tho on the OL. Ours is awful. He literally blocks nobody. Ever. I’m not an ELi guy but Jesus Christ, maybe it’s time. Then If he sucks you know you need a center. 3. I’m gonna do this one cuz I can’t just chose one. I mean Kelly was bad. Jake isn’t good. I mean. A few guys took turns on D but if it’s more than one, then I’m going Jordan Younger for sending out the Thomas schmekel package way 2 much. And the last drive by Calgary, it’s like we gonna give you the FG but not the TD but a FG wins it anyways. as for who looked ok, Demski Clercius sterns and even collaros in the first half ( I can’t put the shitty play calls on him) and if I’m being fair I can’t put the shitty play calls last week on Streveler either. I can put not converting 3rd down and 1s on him tho. Dillon Mitchell didn’t stand out but he also was targeted 3 times and made 3 catches so. Weird how I think 4 receivers were solid when play calling is a biggest problem on O. It’s not Zach, it’s not Strev, it’s not kola or the receivers, the receivers were solid. They didn’t drop balls. Zach had a high completion percentage. The O play calling is awful. Zach looks frustrated. So does Brady. The OC is the biggest problem by far.

Oilers on NTL also. I’ll be honest. I don’t think Kenny lawler and milt in his prime make a difference to this garbage O. Hogan needs to go.

So you **** on O’Shea but basically all your complaints here are above O’Shea. O’Shea didn’t let lawler or Dobson walk. Walters did. O’Shea isn’t the guy bringing in guys, Walters is. Your bias towards O’Shea is showing. we all complain about a guy like Jake but he’s on the roster cuz Walters signed him and hasn’t found a guy to replace him with. CFL you have to dress so many Canadians. Jake is dressed cuz the next Canadian isn’t better. That’s on Walters.

Cyril Penn has done jack ****. Hamilton signed a bunch of free agents. We have years of piss poor camps in his tenure and barely any solid American prospects outside the secondary.

What about Streveler who can’t even do QB sneaks anymore. I’d release him. I’d also fire the OC. Both are just taking up spots really. Play calling is a joke. No adjustments at all. OL has certainly regressed big time but the play calling is pathetic and adds to the problems on O. Wonder who he throws under the bus this week. Also we starting 9 Canadians so really what’s the point in Jake Thomas getting so many reps. Are we trying to lose? Are we tanking cuz the 1st overall pick is generational cuz makes no sense. I don’t get that. Playing more Canadians than necessary is fine if they all top tier talent but they ain’t.

No..but they could be used as rotational pieces and as depth with experience...more use than our 2 Canadian dt's not named Lawson... I didn't say they as singular players are all world..but used accordingly and in tandem with our best guys...we would be better Woli and BOLO would help here...we let Sayles walk for money...hed sure be nice as a mainstay here...Dobson even with still some weak moments would make our line much better Lawler...nuff said...even legs...we could have freed up a DA spot...sure Castillo can make some long bombs...but also has bouts of Mr miss too... Sterns would be a great option after a healthy Schoen and Lawler .. with Demski and Clercius. That's a receiving corps. But again, I have no interest in bitching about what can't be fixed. I love the conversation about where we go from here and fix it within this season.

J.jones not seeing the field at all didnt help...he played a lot the previous game and helped immensely...didnt see much of him last night...why is the question Been saying for several yrs...our roster management....player reps and utilization of our guys for best impact has been wretched Also I stand by my claim osh is heavily Canadian biased...and it hurts us...reason why too he won't utilize rules afforded to him...he doesn't like them...and was outspoken against them when originally implemented...talk about not putting team first over your bias...

So you'd cut Adams/Woods, Person and J Jones for those 3? I wouldn't. Can complain about how they are using Americans on D...but those 3 in Hamilton as players are nowhere near being impact players. Average is probably overstating their impact on D...both here and now half a season in Hamilton.

@DTonOB you have some defensive rep numbers for our DA's? I know Vavals will be squewwed as he was an injury replacement but curious on others..and not including goaline/shortyardage reps as they basically just a body What kinda reps did CGY's DA's get in comparison?

If sterns is our best..we in a world bad...hes good if we had 2 other imports as tha marquee guys and he has his role...but as your numero uno...ouch

No Kelly was in from the start. Bonds didn't go down until right before half. They were essentially playing two deep safeties to shake up VA and try to negate the explosives. They had Griffin playing more LB style SAM than DB style. Worked for a quarter until they started running single verticals and posts at Kelly's side as an adjustment.

They essentially use 2.5 American spots on D for special teams. And our kicker is American too. And our best American receiver is probably Jerrith Sterns.

I’m confused as to why Kelly was on the field so much. Was he the dime? Was this always the plan or what the bombers had to do when Bonds went down and Vaval went in for him?

I track it series by series, not as precisely as DT. Probably the last game I'll be able to do it though because my season starts this week. Kelly played basically that entire game...him, Kramdi and Griffin essentially functioned as the WIL/SAM/Safety but not always static in position. Griffin most likely to be in the box or blitzing. We had a lot of snaps with 4 Canadians on D. Most with 3, some with 2. We are starting 6 Canadians on O. So we only need 1 Canadian on D. Now if we have Canadians who are better than our Americans...ok. Not sure Kelly is that. Not sure Thomas is that. Also no reason to start 6 Canadians on O if we're going into a game knowing we're going to play Jake Kelly the entire game on D. But...not sure who the Americans would be we have ready to go. Allen is an obvious one, Woodbey would be one but we're kind of loaded where he would fit in...but might be more useful than Ayres being able to play 2-3 spots on D. Don't think we have anyone on O ready to go aside from Vanterpool when he gets healthy. We don't have enough American players....which is a huge indictment on the past 2-3 training camps.

@JuranBoldenRules, do you track defensive snaps? That's some interesting commentary in regards to how much our linebackers are playing. It would be interesting if the CFL had data available for yardage given up by DBs when they are the primary cover on a player. I know it exists in the NFL. By the eye test, Bonds, Vaval and Kelly have all been targeted.

I counted nine Canucks "starting" according to the depth chart. If I recall correctly, that's more than required and we've been doing this for years. Well, it doesn't appear to be working this year. Why the coaching staff doesn't even attempt to take advantage of the existing rules is very frustrating for me as a fan.

Well and if you insist on Canadians at dl, then don't waste time with a Canadian in the secondary. If you want a Canadian safety then all American on DL and get a ferocious bunch who can terrorize a qb.

Agree with most of your suggestions but as far as the O-line is concerned, GET KOLANKOWSKI THE HELL OUTTA THERE and that alone will improve the line dramatically, and similarly, Thomas is has been a liability for a couple of years, so out he goes. Yeah Thomas isnt reason...but he has no business on roster...and won't ever give a tide changing play or any impact...factor in zero upside now...no relevance...why he playing...he just taking reps away from better players and blocking up development of youngsters with upside...there several guys on the roster doing that OC guy has no clue on how to create let alone manage a pro playbook and his play calling and situational decisions are awful Too much buddy relationships here are clouding the proper judgement of decisions...

Technically we lost that game because replay gave it to Toronto and then apologized after the fact.
