Ducky Posted December 16, 2015 Report Share Posted December 16, 2015 Lack of power play and taking penalties is the biggest problem. Blame refs. Stuart. Myers. Whoever you want. Our PP and PK are costing us games. Do we even get shots on the PP? Fire Vincent and Huddy. Team needs a remake on the ice too. I was thinking about this during a PP in tonight's game. Maurice didn't get to pick and choose his assistants, they were here when he was hired and only one of Noel's assistants was fired. Our special teams are some of the worst in the league. I'm not sure if you could find a replacement mid-season but I am sure you could find one this off season. Oh ya, I forgot, the Jets extended them this summer for 3 years. Vincent is in charge of the PP. Who is in charge of the PK? Huddy? Maurice? Both special teams suck. The Jets can't defend on the PK so they should try harder to stay out of the box. Scheif's line is starting to dominate. I would love to see Wheeler on that line instead of staf although I like Staf's game this year. Buff played a smart game. Why did Myers pinch on that last goal? The game is tied, you aren't down one? Bonehead move if you ask me and if it were Buff that had done it, people would be all over him. Helle looked a lot more human in the third. Of course Maurice could have picked his assistants, all coaches are able to do that. Thing is...he kept two...as it turns out maybe Vincent was a mistake...however if you don't have quick enough players playing on the PK it is very hard to be agressive. Playing Ladd is the perfect example of having someone not quick enough on the PK. Doesn't Stuart play the same side as Ladd on the PK???......not a lot of speed on that side. I can see why they play Ladd on the PP because he gets a lot of tip ins and goals from just a few feet in front of the net, plus he has a good shot but maybe it's time for someone else on the PK....I'd like to see Copp being groomed for a spot on the PK. I think he has the tools to be a good one. I also thi nk Scheif shold see more time on the PP. He is hot right now so why not take advantage of that on the PP. It's the passive box they play that is the problem, be more aggressive, stop standing around and do something about it, go after the puck.... get it the hell out of the zone... this passive let's watch the other team pass it around constantly box is so 1980's. Put Burmi out there with Wheeler, Play Copp on the PK also, maybe play Perreault or Stafford with him, why not... try something different. However, it's really irrelevant who they have on the ice if the keep playing this passive box crap. Stop pretending you are the harlem fricking globetrotters on ice and realize what you are and start shooting the damn puck more. That simple. That's how you fix the PP... shoot the damn puck more. Stop being so fancy.. I'm starting to think some of our players and judging by the apparent contract demands of ladd and buff, i think some of our players think they are actually legit superstars like Ovechkin Crosby,Malkin, Tarasenko... Seguin,Benn types... I think some of our players feel they are at those players level when they aren't even a level below them.... so they try to get all fancy and instead of shooting the puck, which usually results in goals and or at least scoring chances, they try to dipsy doodle and make the crowd go "OHHHHHHH" yet... a shot from the point of the slot resulting in a goal... well, it's the same thing.
