So the next time anyone feels like bitching about Kyle Walters, we essentially got a starting Canadian O-Lineman and what appears to be a very good QB from Saskatchewan for absolutely nothing with Jad

So because of our scheme guys like Jake Thomas & Greg Peach are superior to Ted Laurent & Justin Hickman? I ain't buying it.

  • God I hope we sign Jade.   So much.

Think that needs to be in next CBA is that junior players be draft legible.

I disagree. That would kill junior football. All junior teams rely on funding from their local cfl clubs.

Speculation is Jade Etienne might be cut.

Let's get him. :P

Expect SB Jamel Richardson (knee) to start the season on the 6-game injured list or he could also be released. #Alouettes #CFL

The following players have been released:

  • National DT Gregory Alexandre
  • National WR Anthony Barrett
  • International RB Hugh Charles
  • National DE Michael Dadzie
  • International DT Ra’Shon Harris
  • National CB Raye Hartmann
  • National C Gord Hinse
  • International DB Myron Lewis
  • International SB Brandon McRae
  • National P/K Zackary Medeiros
  • National LB Kyle Norris
  • International DT Daniel Ross
  • International CB Robert Sands
  • International DE Cameron Sheffield
  • National FB Smith Wright

Definitely some interesting Canadian names in that list from Edmonton.  Gregory Alexandre sticks out as someone we might be interested in.  I don't know what ever happened to Gord Hinse.  He was supposed to be their starting centre of the future but then it never really happened.

Edmonton released a couple Canadian DLs. Hope Walters has a look. Eskimos with some interesting National talent there.

Pickup Hinse will enable us to play 4 National on the OL.DT Alexandre as backup DL?

Hinse and Hartmann cut? Give me either one.

How 'bout both of them?

Wait Hartmann is a draftee by Esks, is it possible he's returning back to school?

Pickup Hinse, Alexandre and Hartmann!!

I don't want him, but Sands is an interesting cut. He had Edmonton staffers thinking they had the second coming of Pat Watkins on their hands .... until he played in a game.

The thing about Hinse is that he couldn't beat out Justin Sorensen or Brian Ramsay for a job with the Esks....

The more I think about it ... Gord Hinse is a big name, but realistically, without knowing the situation, it seems as if he got beat out by Justin Sorenson for a job.

^^ wizard above me

No one is saying he'd start for us. But he could be some good depth allowing us to start 4 NIs on the OL. Our NI OL depth is weak now.

Wake up Mr. Walters you should be busy on the phone right now.

Calgary Cuts

  • International offensive lineman Korian Chambers
  • International defensive lineman Kevin Dixon
  • International receiver Robert Holland
  • International running back Martell Mallett
  • National receiver Yannick Morin-Plante
  • International receiver Marcus Rucker
  • International quarterback Rusty Smith

Calgary PR

  • International linebacker Maalik Bomar
  • International receiver Sederrik Cunningham
  • National offensive lineman Brad Erdos
  • International defensive lineman DeQuin Evans
  • International defensive back Torin Harris
  • International receiver Jeremy Horne
  • National offensive lineman Billy Peach
  • International defensive back Ryan Steed
  • National defensive back Adam Thibault
  • National linebacker Akeem Whonder

Rather than go after Hinse, I'd claim Billy Peach immediately. At least force Calgary's hand.

Lot's of decent National players released or put to PR. We can definitely get some help here.

Peach would be more what we need than Hinse anyways. Depth at guard. He's good enough to be on our 46.

Actually, I think he's good enough to be on a lot of 46 man rosters.

The thing about Hinse is that he couldn't beat out Justin Sorensen or Brian Ramsay for a job with the Esks....

I understand. Just pointing it out.

ITs official Richardson has been released

Voilà! RT @jamelrichardson: I just want to thank the city of Montreal & th #ltw pic.twitter.com/WIlBxPT8Vt

Wow!  I didn't see that one coming.

Is he healthy? Does he fully recovered from his injury?

Would Ottawa have first crack at some of these PR players. Or is it first team to put a claim in?
