McManus supposedly a Drew Willy supporter

From Paul Wiecek's article in the Free Press this morning

"The other quarterback option on the table for the Bombers right now is Drew Willy, who the Saskatchewan Roughriders have soured on and are not expected to offer a contract extension in advance of free agency.

Sources say McManus is a big supporter of the Saskatchewan backup, believing him to be more physically gifted than Collaros and a more "pure" quarterback, even though Willy is mostly untested in his pro career."

the key to our success this year will be making sure that our Willy is adequately protected. Ironically he was getting good protection from Labatte in Saskatchewan, who didn't seem to use protection.

I think you are underestimating the acquisition of Matt Bucknor.

  • Everyone gets ramped up about QB salaries. The challenge of affording more than One potential starting QB is NOT the total projected cost if each of them starting it is the ACTUAL cost of your starter

Why would Edmonton get rid of Reilly, did I miss something ?

As for the Bombers "being cheap", it was reported that the Bombers were $200k under the cap.

We had $200,000 to play with in December and still couldn't sign Henoc... ouch.  We could have offered $100,000 signing bonus and not even felt it this year...  dude is gonzo.

Who's to say if Henoc even wants to come back to the Bombers.

What does that have to do with signing Henoc. He's trying out for the NFL. He wouldn't have signed until he exhausted his options.

Yeah, unless we were offering NFL money, there was no way we were going to sign Henoc before 2014. 0% chance.

Reilly lives in northern Montana.

Does he turn in to Grizzly Adams in the summer time? There is like no one living in Northern Montana. Other than a few bears.

Just like Northern Manitoba - no one lives there except bears.

I corrected that hours ago.
