San Jose isn’t taking another forward when they need D and currently they pick 2. I’m not even convinced the leafs take either winger over a potential Schaefer like D.

Winning eight in a row cruising thru two series at light speed having 7 months off ( I exaggerate) till your next game ironically can hurt you.

It's like at the start of the playoffs imagine the coaching staff saying hey guys remember to win it all we we need to lose a few so we don't get rusty so plan accordingly. lol

They also finally played a good team. Montreal is good. They beat 2 very good teams in Tampa and Buffalo. Carolina has had the easy route with Ottawa and Philly. Both Tampa and buffalo over 100 points. Over 200 combined. Ottawa Philly were ranked 8 and 7 pretty much. Combined 180 ish points. Montreal has had the harder route. They have faced adversity. Carolina has not.
