Stanley needs to learn how, first. Tkachuk is going to fight dirty and would probably school Baby Huey. Stanley has all the potential to be tough the way that Chara is tough...but he needs to learn how. Buddies and I were saying on the weekend that Stanley desperately could have used a guy like Buff to teach him how to "strut"....be a big guy that KNOWS he's a big guy. I still think Stanley is a bit too timid...not cocky enough about the fact that he's a beast.

I think he is learning how big he is. His first fight was just a “yeah, it’s time to inject that into a game” but the Corey Perry non-tilt was him stepping up for a teammate and knowing what role he can provide. And Perry’s timid reaction had to embolden him to realize how imposing he is becoming.

he need those fights to learn it by himself. shoulda pounded Perry last game. although he has to be smart about the timing of it also.

Play dirty as well. Wheeler found that out the hard way.

Nah, let the opponents be dumb and put their teams in bad spots. Stanley's sandpaper sends a clear message, and all he'd have to do is wallpaper Tkachuk to really make it hit home.

No need to stoop to the greasy level of the likes of Tkachuk or Perry.

Thanks, I had to make this in a hurry

No problem. Appreciate you putting this up for every game, especially the mask collage. Any little bit to help is the least I can do. Keep up the great work getting us set for another Jets game thread!

So one little advantage of the trade deadline for tonight - Sens traded 3 veteran defenceman away, so their back end will be thinner and less experienced.

well no kidding KConn just scored

Holy cow! That penalty kill looked like a Chinese fire drill for the Sens. Relentless pressure for the Jets with great puck movement. Nice start.

Ehlers makes it 2-0

FIGHT!!!

You know it's funny, on the way home from work I was talking with my mom about how I wish we could have acquired some kind of goon that would make quick work out of every Corey Perry or Tkachuk sibling....what if Logan Stanley is the answer?

Ehlers with a bullet. Other than McDavid, can’t think of another player who creates a buzz when he picks up the puck in his own end and starts skating.

Chippy McElbows with the power play goal to make it 2-1.

ugh why are we tied now?

Because Hellebuyck has a hole in his glove apparently.

Ever since Ottawa scored, they have more energy than the Jets.    Dictating play and the better team.  Jets need to match the pace and stop playing down to their opposition.

Well the Jets are drawing penalties and outshooting them, but sloppy play leading to odd man rushes. And still passing up shot opportunities for that perfect pass.

But Ehlers looks faster tonight.

Is Gustafsson on the taxi squad?  I couldn’t find anything showing that, but he hasn’t played on the Moose in a couple weeks?

That’s 3 breakaways and a 2 on 1 off of Jets’ turnovers this period. Smarten up guys.

Ehlers may be faster but his decision making is still stuck in neutral.  Brutal turnovers by him.

This game should not be this close but Jets find a way to keep opposition in games.

Jets have been badly outplayed for a lot of this game. Cripes.

Not sure what game you are watching. They have lead in shots and time of possession in the offensive zone, and forced a lot of penalties which have helped those stats. It’s their turnovers leading to grade A chances that is their failing tonight, not extended zone time against.

are there stats for unforced turnovers?
