January 2, 20179 yr I didn't see a thread for this, so.... Burmi was put on waivers and picked up by Arizona. http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/jets-place-burmistrov-on-waivers-after-weeks-of-trade-speculation
January 3, 20179 yr The guy we should have kept until someone gave us something for him...even if we needed the roster spot...and he was never going to play for us again... Edited January 3, 20179 yr by Ducky
January 3, 20179 yr Ya epic fail not getting a 7th Rd pick for him. They shopped him. Nobody wanted to give up ANYTHING. Oh well.

January 3, 20179 yr Yup, if you look up the posts around this time of the year last year you will see goalie and I we were talking about how useless he was and all the rest of you guys were berating us because you guys thought Burmi was an NHL caliber player.
January 3, 20179 yr Meh. Should have? Nah he deserved a chance to show what he could do. Got passed on the depth chart. Oh well.
January 3, 20179 yr Actually, it was obvious he couldn't play in the big league...over handling the puck and losing possession...not using his wingers....shudda traded him then and got something for him.....asset management. The only thing I think saved him was he was an okay PKer.

I was never a fan of Burmi coming back. In fact, no one was really 'excited' about it. But sure, you were the only one who saw the truth... as always.
January 3, 20179 yr I know you have trouble with English but I mentioned Goalie also saying he shouldn't be on the team.....go look it up.
January 3, 20179 yr I seem to remember (possibly on the old site) nearly everyone was not a fan at all of Burmistrov the last season he played before leaving for the KHL. The only "excitement" fans around here had of him was that he was signed to a cheap cheap contract and we had hopes that he would of matured and could of been a decent player that we could of traded away for something of quality in return.

January 3, 20179 yr No, with you and TUP and a few others he has enough groupies....I just remember what I remember.

January 3, 20179 yr If Armia doesn't play another 14 games, he isn't eligible for the draft!!! We signed Stanley because Myers is finished... Look, Price's and Helle's first couple of years are similar!!! Oh my God, Helle is going to be as good as Price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quick, fire Maurice!!! If Comrie comes up and plays, we will have to protect him!!! Any of this BS ring a bell?

He is an NHL caliber player. Or at least he has NHL caliber talent. Not every player works out in every city. We'll see what happens. He might find a fit somewhere. He might bounce around for the next ten years. Who knows.

Admittedly I thought Burmi could be a Frolik-ish defensive forward. He has that talent. He just cant put it together. I was wrong.

January 3, 20179 yr omfg... you kept going ha...!!! 11 hours ago, Ducky said: If Armia doesn't play another 14 games, he isn't eligible for the draft!!! Yeah I don't really understand the expansion draft rules... sue me. We signed Stanley because Myers is finished... I think hip surgery and then an early season LBI on a 6'8 frame is deeply concerning. And yes I think we picked Stanley to 'replace' Myers... do I think he will be in the NHL this year? No. But I do think Myers injury will cause the Jets to rush Stanley's development. Look, Price's and Helle's first couple of years are similar!!! Oh my God, Helle is going to be as good as Price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quick, fire Maurice!!! Helle will be as good as Price. You heard it here first. If Comrie comes up and plays, we will have to protect him!!! We've debated the idiocy of reassigning Hutch already. Besides, that was before I realized we were signing Ray Emery. Any of this BS ring a bell? Your repetition does ring a bell, yes.
