Week 9 Edm. @ Tor. - Sask. @ Hamilton

Interesting to read this week's picks by the writers @ 3downnation

Montreal @ Ottawa

Drew Edwards: Montreal in free fall. Hope this game doesn’t become a free-for-all. REDBLACKS
Justin Dunk: At this stage of their careers Burris > Glenn. Barely. REDBLACKS
John Hodge: In a battle of two struggling veteran QBs, I’ll take the team with the better receiving corps. REDBLACKS
Joel Gasson: Hard to believe in Montreal right now. REDBLACKS
Ian Busby: For an encore, Duron Carter will push over the LumberJoes. It still won’t help his team win. REDBLACKS
Josh Smith: Henry Burris is hearing footsteps, Duron Carter is going to go full Ric Flair and embrace being the hated heel, and Kevin Glenn is going to have a great Kevin Glenn game. ALS
Santino Filoso: Fresh off a bye and at playing at home, this one’s a no brainer REDBLACKS
Totals: REDBLACKS 6 ALS 1

Calgary  @ BC

Drew Edwards: They win this one and I’m all in on B.C. They will. LIONS
Justin Dunk: Calgary is at their best when challenged. STAMPS
John Hodge: Jonathon Jennings cements his status as the CFL’s newest elite quarterback. LIONS
Joel Gasson: Another game of the year candidate. Time for BC to show they’re for real. LIONS.
Ian Busby: Epic meeting between the top two teams in the West. Winner gets the hammer in the season series. Could be another classic. STAMPS
Josh Smith: Game of the week, for sure. The winner here will own the tiebreaker and have the upperhand in the race for first in the West. Should be close, but home team prevails. LIONS
Santino Filoso: Home field proves to be in the difference in a clash of the best of the West LIONS
Totals: LIONS 5 STAMPS 2

?‍?This second game should be the game of the week. It's for 1st place of course, and the series between the two teams.

?‍?Wally vs Dave and  Jennings vs Mitchell......Messam, Paredes vs. Rainey and the BC defence

Dan Ralph - Canadian Press
B.C. won the first meeting 20-18 in the season opener for both teams. Chris Rainey figured prominently in that game for the Lions with two TDs, including one on a 72-yard punt return.

Calgary outscored B.C. 22-7 in the fourth quarter July 29 en route to a thrilling 44-41 overtime victory at McMahon Stadium. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell completed 29-of-44 passes for 364 yards and three TDs.

?‍?Do you agree with the majority?

Bye the way - MBB picks have BC over Calgary 18-11......with 1 tie predicted!

at least it looks like more there than the other day.

They will never get an NFL franchise. London will get one first, so will St Louis. Los Vegas. Even Hong Kong, I heard they plan on playing some games in Asia.

Toronton people probably wouldn't go to NFL either.

tired of coach challenges. at least they're starting to deal with them quickly.... that was 30 seconds or so

for some reason this game is dull. argos running the bend and break defence....

why was the a penalty on bourque?

Reilly seems to have reverted to playing as inconsistently as he did two years ago, making some bad decisions throwing the ball back across the field.

Reilly with a nice touch pass into the end zone, Toronto's offence is brutal guess they can't wait for Ray to get back.

Games over and the Argos know it.  They remind me of the Bombers pre-Nichols, listless.

Kilgore looks like he has a good arm, and he can run. accuracy maybe a bit of a problem..... they seem to be good at finding qbs. He probably needs a bit of time, if that's possible.

"They remind me of the Bombers pre-Nichols, listless. "

yes, very similar.

this game is  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Yeah this game went sideways real quick for the argo's,  seems like a lot of don't give a !@#$ on the sidelines.

Argos kept Ray & let Harris go. A Joe Mack Moment...

I'm sure they would like a do over on that one

How could they not have known??? They had nearly an entire season to see how he played. Just the age difference alone would have made keeping Ray a bad choice. #Dumb.

Wow more empty seats than full ones... embarrassing

reilly is lucky as hell on those long throws....

just saw highlights also made two beautiful td passes....

Walker & Bowman make him look a lot better than he really is throwing the football.

Well Rich, you could've stayed in Calgary...

That's what make that decision such a what were they thinking moment, had there future qb and gave him away

Reilly has 300 yards in a half, he also has some real good receivers.

no defensive playbook?  yikes.

at least two of those long passes were off target, receiver made a great play, and defenders were crappy...

if that had happened in any other Canadian city the fans & media would have been all over Barker & Milanovich for letting Harris go. In Toronto no one cares.

Exactly... he has some real good receivers. Getzlaff is useless though. He should retire. Getting paid a lot of $$ to really do nothing. With Walker & Bowman Reilley doesn't need to throw to anyone else.

game about to get ugly

argos must have thought that Kilgore was much better than he has turned out to be, to let harris go

You should have heard Glen Suitor being interviewed in Calgary Thursday night. He compared Jennings to Russell Wilson. Then there was the story about Jennings being an elite qb because he threw for 4 consecutive 300 yd game until last night which put him in the same company as former BC qbs Dickenson & Flutie. To me 300 yds is the new 250 in the CFL. It used to be that 300 yds passing was quite the accomplishment. Now qbs are doing that all the time. It's not that big a deal. Jennings has a ways to go yet until he's considered elite.

Yup. Jennings has the arm and the athleticism, but not the eyes, at least not yet.

I think he's made 17 starts so he's just getting started. But the way the media & especially TSN pumps these players tires. They need time to learn the game.

Sad and true.....The move from Skydump doesn't seem to have dome much for argos attendance...IF this doesn't change this franchise will be in a world of doo-doo...Don't like what I'm seeing...Argos look dead and are pinning their hopes on old Ricky ....If he can stay healthy that might change their fortunes...the move sure hasn't attendance wise.

They threw the future away. At least Harris plays with some swagger & personality. Kilgore looks like a Mini Me robot out there no doubt learning from the Master Robot Ricky Ray. No personality, no excitement, no nothing.
