It will be cold for sure or it could be -2 like right now or plus 4 like it was Friday. Really don't know what to expect but ya regardless of December or February it will be chilly to sit outside for 3 or 4 hours and very expensive. Honestly not being a season tix holder I'd probably just watch on TV. I don't see all the fuss about an outdoor game and I don't even mind the cold. Yeah its much warmer in February Actually. Historically speaking. It's more similar than people realize. December on avg = -9 high. February = -12 high. Not a huge difference

Seems someone is missing the part where it said all 3 agreed on the February date until 2 weeks ago when the NHL said no. So really a deal was in place but NHL changed their mind last minute really. Is it ok for NHL to pull out last minute but it's not ok for bombers to say no to December? NHL is at fault really cuz all 3 agreed to February up until 2 weeks ago when NHL said it doesn't work for them. Get this they wanted December out of your head cuz they all agreed on February but then at the last minute NHL said no. December didn't work for bombers. January didn't work for true north. February worked for all 3 until 2 weeks ago when NHL decided it didn't work. Why blaming the bombers exactly? I don't really get that at all. It's obviously the NHL who pulled out last minute. Why? Wouldn't give up much for Vermette, plus he's a Center, not exactly a huge need for us at the moment. I think some team is willing to give up more for him, i wouldn't give up anything of real value at all because if i truly wanted Vermette that bad, I'd just wait until the off season when is a free agent and get him for "free". I see no interest in Vermette from the Jets Perspective. Kassian actually does make sense, young guy, big strong fast, needs a change of scenery, has a contract past this season, that pays him less than 2 million per year at that. He's the type of guy the Jets would target i'd imagine. Young guy on a cheap contract. They are apparently looking for a 3rd line right winger, That's what Kassian is. He fits the profile to a tee pretty much.

I mean there is tons of speculation and made up stuff there for sure from one guy atleast and with no real facts to back up what he is saying. I mean, honestly, if you are accusing people of doing back room deals over land or whatever else really, you better have some damn good facts to back it up and quite frankly, there are no facts. Just a bunch of speculation and really guessing big time, i wanna call it blowing smoke up peoples asses cuz that's actually what a few of those posts are pretty much doing. I like the one comment too that ends page 1, something about living in fantasy worlds... guess that person does too cuz what they have written about this topic is nothing but fantasy.That's just what it is - speculation. No one was purporting to know exactly what is happening at city hall. That's how politics and business interact, especially when you have a pro-business politician in power. It is bold because even though that may be the case, you have no facts to back it up this time at all. You can't saying Chipman bought Bowman or whatever without having any real facts. Can't just say that's how politics works, because yeah even though i agree with you there a bit, saying someone bought someone is crazy and honestly, if this was a court of law, it's not but if we pretend it is, you'd get laughed out of the room in like 5 minutes with your "but that's how politics" works argument. Like i said, it might be but Bowman has somewhat shown in his brief time in office that, you know what... he's not exactly the same as those other guys. I see nothing so far that even remotely suggest Bowman is similar to Katz or guys from the past and what you are saying with no real facts is he is the same. When all he has done since getting in to office is pretty much the exact opposite of what you are speculating about.

Spuds worded it wrong, sounds like he wants an argument but reading a few of those posts on page 1 here, Not sure exactly how what Spuds said is wrong. Maybe saying something like.. instead of making up bs and calling people out like the one guy is doing to Bowman and Chipman here pretty much, perhaps present some real facts to support your argument instead of just saying "gut feeling". Maybe that would have been better?? I mean really, basically saying Bowman was bought by Chipman is a pretty hardcore accusation and in my opinion, if you are making accusations like that, you better present some pretty damn good facts to back that up. Sorry but "gut feeling" isn't good enough.

The skills competition is pretty cool normally but sometimes seems like guys are just going through the motions. The announcing on CBC was horrible too so that didn't help. Can't believe Healy and those guys get all worked up about RYJO from Columbus taking off his jersey and have an ohio state Jersey under neath, like wheres the creativity there? Not much creativity in that breakaway challenge there or whatever it was called, seen it all before. Guess only so much you can do, Thought Giroux was most creative, at least he tried different things. The all star game tho? It's a waste of time and money really. Doubt many people watch it, it's just pond hockey really, no hitting, no goaltending really, No D at all. It's kind of a joke actually. I'll say this, the best all star game is the baseball one because atleast it means something, winning league gets homefield in the world series, that's cool at least but seeing the NHL one, what's the point? I don't really care about the game because it's really just guys going through the motions really. I'll say this, if the all star "week-end" came to Winnipeg, i might go check out the skills competition and the stuff outside the arena they do, but the game itself? probably not. Pretty crazy high ticket prices apparently.

Can understand Bombers not wanting it in December, like it or not, the Grey Cup is bigger than an Outdoor Hockey Game, it makes the bombers money, that stadium is a football stadium first and foremost also so makes sense why they wouldn't want it that close to the Grey Cup. Not sure why the Jets didn't want it in January, that makes very little sense and not sure why the NHL didn't want it in February. Reality is, all 3 are at fault and nobody is at fault at the same time, THe NHL obviously is gonna play this up like they aren't at fault when in reality, the game probably could have been played in February, NHL makes all the money off this, people who aren't Bomber or Jets season ticket holders wouldn't be going, NHL would give seats away to all their sponsors so for a guy like me, no season tix to Jets or Bombers, i'd watch it on TV cuz no way i'd even get a shot at getting tickets so to me, it's not a big deal at all. 2016, 2017 whatever really works... Just don't like the blame game the NHL was obviously playing when they themselves are at fault a little bit too. They make all the money, sounds like the bombers would make very little and the Jets very little if anything also. NHL is at fault. Quite frankly, i'm not sure why any team would want to host one of these outdoor games when it sounds like the NHL makes all the profit.

Sometimes when you pull that trigger you accidentaly shoot yourself. Jets are playing fine right now, but they are being built for sustainability not for 1 good season or 2 but they are being built to be a playoff contender year in year out. They are not going to do something irrational because a couple guys contracts are up in 2 seasons.

Little, Wheeler,Bogo,Toby... no they don't, Kane, these guys are signed long term. Time to make a move? Joe Mack? second time i see you brought his irrelevant name up. Beleive it or not, rip on Joe Mack all you want but you name the good players on the bombers and they are joe mack finds for the most part. Everyone wants Alex Hall back, Joe mack Find. Denmark, Joe Mack Find, Wild? Joe Mack find.. Sears? Joe mack find... I can keep going. Now is the time to make a move? to who and why? so we can screw up what we have built up? Jets can win right now as they are.. They are not going to be making any stupid decisions and certainly aren't going to be adding guys making big salary. Core guys are up in 2 years? who? Ladd and Buff? That's 2 guys.. I named 4 or 5 core guys who aren't up in 2 years. Seriously man. Impatience is not the way to do things. You'd think people have learned this by now but guess not.

How long do you want to wait? If it means we are competitive every season from now on, I'm willing to wait however long it takes. Chevy isn't going anywhere anytime soon.. The core guys aren't either.. You really need to go back to 2011 when they first got here to see how far this team has actually come, from prospects to the main roster. They have pretty much done an incredible job and by them i mean Chevy. Patience is key. Rushing in to things is not the way to do things. You don't make a trade for the sake of making a trade, you don't sign every free agent out there cuz that is not how you build a team, ask toronto or philly how that has worked. You build slowly and it takes time but in order to be a legit contender year in year out, you do it slowly, you draft, you develop, you make little unheralded at the time free agent signings like Perreault, 3 years 9 million? what a bargain really. You don't cater to that vocal minority of fans who want it all and want it now, you do it your way, slowly but surely really and in a few years time when guys are free agents, if you did it right, you replace them with your drafted and developed guys. Jets have been here for what? 3 4 seasons now? how long do you have to wait? Leafs have waited since 1967, Oilers have waited for years.. we have waited what? almost 4 seasons now? For every 1 person who says how long do you have to wait, theres 5000 on a waiting list going, if you don't like it, jump off the train and i'll gladly take your tickets from you. Impatience in sports leads to stupidity.

Jets aren't moving their first round pic. I don't see that happening plus Eberle would be one of the highest paid players on the team. Don't see them adding that salary without removing someones and i don't see that happening right now. eberle is a 6 million dollar plus a year player.

Yeah we'd be looking to trade with teams like Buffalo,Arizona, Edmonton,Carolina even. Pardy has probably very little value, he can be waived to St Johns and i really don't think anyone would pick him up. He's not that good actually. Better players have been put on waivers and have cleared this season. Postma? has some value to those bottom feeding teams looking to rebuild or whatever you wanna call it, has potential but with the D group we have, is at best a #6 d man.. Coaches obviously have more faith in the other guys as Postma has been a healthy scratch for some time now. Postma by himself might not get you much butt you add a guy like Burmistrovs rights or a prospect not named well, not any of the "higher ranked prospects' and you might be able to get a pretty solid 3rd line winger. It's apparent that Halischuk isn't good enough so i think you will see them trying hard to upgrade that spot. No superstars or anything, just a guy who can play with Lowry and Kane, maybe a rental even or a guy with not much term remaining and definitely not a guy with lots of salary coming back. Think guys like Kassian, Bergenheim, Condra,Tlusty, Stafford maybe.. guys like that. We aren't gonna go out and make a big splash that's for sure. Postma,Burmi,Galliardi,Halischuk, prospects not ranked high, these are the guys that we'd be looking to move. I don't see us going after any high priced top 6 guys at all, i'm thinking they try to upgrade that third line.. Kane,Lowry and the upgrade would give us 3 solid lines going in to the playoffs and wouldn't mess with the team chemistry that they obviously have going on right now. Ladd,Little,Wheeler Perreault,Scheif,Frolik Kane,Lowry, ??? 4th line? i dunno what you do there exactly, you know what you do actually, you just play them a few minutes a game like you have been doing all season and hope for the best really. No teams have 4 dominating lines, it just doesn't work like that these days.

For the most part, Hutch had an easy night. I'm a big fan but I'm not pretending that Hutch won that game all by himself, he had 1 great save on Dubinsky and the rest were relatively easy saves for him. If Pav played, I'm thinking the same result, not sure if PAV stops that one on Dubinsky tho but he might have cuz PAV has been known to make the spectacular save from time to time. Honestly tho, Jets just played better than Columbus, had the better chances, game could have been 6 7 8-0 really. Columbus goalies made some pretty solid saves. I'll say this, the Columbus goalies had to make the way tougher saves that's for sure. Columbus might have outshot the Jets in the first but really, none of those shots were that difficult at all. After the first, the Jets took over.

I think I'd like to see them go hard after Heenan and or Holmes, I know some say it's a pipe dream to get Heenan but I'm not convinced of that, He's testing the FA waters for a reason, I think if the Bombers make him a solid offer, that it's likely he does sign here, Lots of connections here it seems. Neufeld, Willy,Newman even and now Picard too. Wouldn't surprised me if we land him actually. Wouldn't mind them going after a receiver, thinking a guy like Earnest Jackson would be nice, Willys fav receiver at U of B... MLB's? I don't see many on the list, I see a few interesting depth players.. guys like Sam Hurl might be a nice pick up. Maybe some depth at DL would be ok too with Lucas retiring, Maybe a guy like Donny O altho i'm not sure he's much better than Jake Thomas at this point, always thought Donny O was a bit over rated by some.. people wanted him to be the next Doug Brown but he really hasn't even come close to living up to his hype. Honestly, An OL or 2, perhaps the other being an import Tackle altho if you sign Heenan, I think I like Daniels or Tyler at the other Tackle spot. Maybe a receiver, not a priority in my opinion but i'd be ok if they grabbed one and some depth for sure, hurl etc to replace guys like Cornell and the sorts on the roster. Gotta remember that guys like Cornell and that are just depth guys, if they can be replaced by younger better players, by all means, go for it. Plus we got the draft so i'd suspect, Not sure who our 4 or 5 worst "depth" canadian players are but i'd imagine if you can replace them with the draft and free agency, we will be doing good. Also a point that might be over looked is Graig Newman, should be healthy and ready to go and him being healthy automatically bumps off one of our "depth canadian players" for sure.

Was at the game live, girl about 5 sections over won the 50/50.. about 33,000 bucks for her. Not bad lol. Was a good game overall, Jets dominated, did get caught in their zone a few times but Jets had the way better scoring chances, first 2 shots on goal were goals.. crazy looking at the scoreboard and seeing the shots on goal like 7-2 Columbus but the Jets winning 2-0. Hutch played well, only really had to make 1 really good save, the rest were, well, they are what i'd call not grade A chances really. Jets did start off slow despite the 2 goals on 2 shots but took over from there. Surprised Columbus out hit the Jets actually. 3 stars at the arena were Hutch Wheeler and Thorburn. Jets still take some dumb penalties at times... funny moment of the game was the Columbus player losing his skate blade and having to stay on the ice until the play was done #HutchforAllstargame to replace Bobrovsky who injured himself on a harmless looking play would be a nice gesture by the NHL.

People 25 years ago would be ***** slapping people complaining about a one year delay. New stadium and hockey team playing in that stadium. Amazing. Even 20 years ago. I personally could care less if it's 2016 or 2017 or 2020. The fact that we will get one eventually is quite amazing when you think about it
