I see a pretty good top 4 and a really crappy bottom 4.. Buff Morrissey Trouba Toby That's a pretty above average group on paper isn't it? Postma Stuart... It's probably a pretty average NHL bottom pair also... I mean, could it be upgraded? For sure, it could be.. Myers if he's ever healthy immediately upgrades that bottom pair. I'm not sure going out and spending more money on D men is the right thing to do. I'd actually probably consider moving one of Toby Myers or Trouba (whoever really, unfortunately probably Trouba since i doubt he wants to be here long term) and try to fix our D issues that way.... Too much money spent on our D currently. Believes it's in the top 3 in the league in terms of money paid to our D men.

What do you mean none that deserve it? Since when does deserving something matter? Does Drew Stafford deserve to be on the PP or Adam Lowry? Does Mark Stuart deserve to be on the PK or Thorburn? It's not about deserving, it's about giving a kid a chance to show what he can do.

For the most part when college guys go the FA route it's to play closer to home. For Poolman the closest city to home for him is Winnipeg This is a guy who has come to all our Development camps... who has said he stayed at ND because 1. His dad is part of the staff and 2. His brother started playing there this year. He is not some bright lights big city kid... he's a prairie kid from Grand Forks. I think its 95 percent likely he signs here.

Spacek probably projects more to be a RW in the pros. He's pretty small actually. More winger I think. Not sure why ppl list Connor as a center when he basically has played wing his entire hockey career outside of 4 or 5 games with system less Michigan

Yes. Enstrom also. So he kept the 2 best d men, our captain and 1 of the best 2 way centers in the league, and Pav Stu and Thor (inexcusable there) but for the most part... Keeping Buff Enstrom Wheeler and Little was the right thing to do.

Stafford doesn't exactly have the history Carter has tho, Stafford was a pretty good solider in Edmonton and Montreal for that matter, it's just last year he was a bit of headcase, Carter has been one since he got in this league. It's a slightly different situation there.

Pearn wasn't even brought in at the same as Noel, he was brought in the year Noel was fired.

Only Pav Buff Stu Wheeler Little and Thorburn remain from that 2011 team. The rest are either elsewhere in the NHL (Ladd,Hainsey,Fehr,Burmi,Bogo,Kane) or out of the league and game entirely.

Problem with Czuczman is he's on an AHL contract only... they'd have to sign him and then he'd have to clear waivers and theres a chance that perhaps he doesn't.

Our D depth sucks, the rest of the depth is fine... Only Laine Scheif Ehlers,Morrissey,Roslovic,Connor and possibly Lowry would be my untouchables... yeah that includes Wheeler and Little, Why? Because I don't know how smart it is to hang on to them for much longer, Little is UFA after next season, Wheeler the season after, I'd seriously consider moving Little for some LHD help... and Wheeler? well, depends on what he wants in his next contract, if he wants long term big money, move him, if he's ok with a 2 or 3 year deal, you keep him, both these guys are well, one is over 30 and the other one is damn close to 30.

He could always trade Trouba for some LHD help. That's an option and i think a likely one, especially if theres no extension on July 1st for Trouba.. I think what you will see with Trouba is 2 possibilities , 1... he is traded at the draft or 2. He actually sticks around and signs long term July 1st when he can. Hamhuis wouldn't come here, he wanted to stay out west, this is a guy who refused to move his no move clause when Dallas, the team he signed with eventually wanted to trade for him, Russell? He's basically Mark Stuart.

Poolman and Niku look like they will be good players. Gotta start drafting more D men tho, Valimaki would be a guy I'd hope they look at this draft.

Pascal Vincent was hired Jully 22nd 2011. Regardless of what his role was, he was a guy that was hired when NOEL was also, just like Huddy, Just like Flaherty.
