Week of BC Lions at Winnipeg - Western Final Edition

Can't really prepare for extreme noise effectively unless they practice in the Dome, as the practice field in Surrey is located in a residential neighbourhood. -

Here is the restaurant he's involved with, I think it's on the Red Mile. https://porchyyc.com/ -

It was Claybrooks decision to step away from the CFL, he took the payout from the Lions and went into business for himself, I believe he's invested in a restaurant and a cleaning business in Calgary. -

Can you imagine how boring that job would be compared to what he's doing now? Plus the budget would be miniscule, scouting and facilities inadequate and the bureaucracy and paperwork mind numbing. He's got what every GM craves, security within a winning organization plus the chance to become the longest serving GM in Bomber history. -

I half expect him to be ready to return sometime next August....along with Mike Miller. -

Don't see it happening, Wade knows what's best for the team and allowing Walters to walk away isn't something he would take as inevitable because of salary constraints. He'll retain him even if he has to use curvy math and manilla envelopes to make it work. -
Uncanny resemblance, one is a sexual predator, the other Dracula.

I agree they should have given Bo the start and let him know early in the week they were doing so to get the best out of him, throwing him into a game that's already over isn't going to lead to a heroic performance when he's stewing on the sidelines feeling he's wasting his time. Schiltz is also much better coming off the bench because it takes the pressure off him as a starter. I get that Steinauer is a nice guy, but I don't think he brings the fear factor or respect a coach like O'Shea carries, he's too diplomatic and wants to be liked by everyone. -

I don't know if this is Steinauer's year end review, but from the sound of it he's not going anywhere and neither is BLM. -

Lions O-line is not that good, if you re-watch the week 18 contest the Bomber D-line dominated them. -
Chicken or the egg scenario, the Stamps need a reboot regardless.
-
I think Huff is also the teams only conduit to Murray Edwards the Stamps absentee owner, who doesn't want to spend an extra nickel and probably doesn't even watch the games.
-
A big difference between Walters and Huff is Walters embraced the increasing importance of F.A., mainly because he had to with the state of the franchise at the time and the rise of one year contracts. Whereas Huff shunned F.A. in the belief that recruiting and raising his own was the only proper way to build a team. This also meant many of Huff's recruits left early in their careers to earn more money elsewhere, which is evident in the number of Stamp recruits scattered around the league playing on other teams. Imagine where the the Bombers would be without the F.A. signings of Bryant, Randle, Harris, Jefferson and Bighill? Those signings formed the foundation of Walters dynasty. Time passed Huff by and his stubbornness to adapt or pay better wages to retain recruits has left the Stamps near the bottom of the league.

Weather conditions next weekend should be pretty similar to the 2019 GC game played in Calgary on Nov. 22/2019 with a high of -2C, Zach played pretty well in that game. -

It would sure help if they had a full D-line rotating for this game but that's not likely to happen, worry about that 4th Q exhaustion kicking in if they don't control time of possession. -
I think Steinauer get's canned and Bo decides to retire before he gets cut.

Fajardo is quick to draw a line in the sand, then spends his days worrying about what people on the other side of the line are saying about him. -

When excuses stack up deeper than success on his resume, there is a problem. -
To make room for Larry Dean. Who's crazier, Awe or the guy that shows up to fight him wearing a propeller beanie?

Khari has now coached on 5 of the 9 teams in the league, they weren't all crappy....but if they were, it's his job to improve their play under his area of expertise. Can't honestly say this has been the case at most of his stops. -
QB's eyes light up when they see a skinny white kid in the secondary.

Who starts doesn't matter much as long as they use both, Steinauer is screwing with their heads so they won't know what to expect, not a bad strategy to keep them off balance. If they can make Fajardo uncomfortable and contain his runs, they should have a decent chance of winning the game. Fajardo is a tough nut but he usually cracks at some point. -

It could work but the Stamps D has to keep the game within reach, if it becomes a shootout Maier has no chance of keeping up with Adams. Doesn't help the Stamps playing inside a warm dry stadium. -
I wouldn't expect Strev to accept a role as a 3rd down specialist, if he comes back at all he'll be looking for more of an opportunity to start, which rules out the Bombers. Any team paying a QB $500k won't have much left over to pay their backups. I agree, they'll cut him loose as soon as the opportunity presents itself, doubt he makes it to camp and a chance to compete.
